    Nice gear Jim. You have a few items that are on my wish list. I had the pleasure of meeting Jayberry last fall at a bushcraft meet up. Unfortunately, I did not have anymore play money when he showed up, so I will be looking for him again at the same meet up this year. - Jeremy

    Love me some TuffPossum gear. Jay just sent me a pouch and I can mount externally on my scree pack. Agree with you, TP’s survival scarf 🧣 has a million and one uses. My scarf has been used in all four seasons. Great gear. Jay rocks
    More videos from you Jim. Also Jim I need to catch up with you in the ADKs some weekend soon.
    Thx for sharing brother.

    You can get a 4lb. bag of fatwood at Lowe’s for $7 and a 400 ft. Spool of jute twine at Walmart for under $3. You have plenty of supplies for fire starting right there. Love the video.

    Great video. Good talk on gear. That bag was full.. If that's a day pack, we're is your food load out? Unless your eating dirt and leaves. This is the problem i have with small gear bags, everyone always forgets f9od or snacks for the day or over night. Those items take space aswell. Anyway just my 2 cents.

    Tried to go to the etsy link, but it kept showing me pink leather bondage gear! Are you trying to tell us something? Is that how you roll?

    • @jimleighty7408
      @jimleighty7408 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ahhaha ill change that. Jayberry has his own website now and does not use etsy anymore. That original etsy link is no longer valid now I guess. I posted up his website above now, unless of course you want some fun leather gear as well!

    Holy hell, finally someone spitting the truth. I use the crap out of my gear before I claim it’s value. I see too many vids of people using just out of the plastic equipment. Obviously never really tested. But they are making vids of how great it is.
    I don’t have any of the same branded equipment. I try it all. But I’m still carrying that same day pack for over 15 years now.
    Like seeing a guy with five knives but no IFAK on his belt.
    As for multi day trips, I also carry a phone charger. I use my camera . And it’s a piece of commo.
    Try going on someone’s YT and question them about something they are doing or not doing. They get butthurt quick. Being criticized is a chance to learn.
    Great little video.

  • @yearofthegarden
    @yearofthegarden 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    nice vid, i'm pretty sure you only carry that possum pillow case because you bought it. use the fabric to sew together a exterior waterbottle pocket and axe hanging slot, something more useful and save the pack space

    • @jimleighty7408
      @jimleighty7408 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea to each their own about the multipurpose scarf, I think it has some useful applications but sure you could definitely do most of those things with a body pillow case although I don't think that a pillow case would hold up as well. Not a bad idea making a hanging water bottle pocket though!
