I have one, it is a brilliant little bike, its not quick, it will hit 75 mph and is governed by electronics to go no faster.
Real life mpg is above 80 mpg, motor is a long stroke, so it is relaxed in use, handling is nimble, brakes are fine, tryes good in wet weather.
Thing is, it is a joy to ride.

Very easy to put any bike on the centre stand, Hold the bike upright with wheels in line, left hand on handlebar and right hand under grabrail or seat, stand close to the bike and put all your bodyweight on the stand with your right foot, with a gentle backward pull at the same time. Easy peasy with a bit of practice, putting all your weight on the stand does the work.

Bought my Meteor in May and loving it. 52 and just getting back into biking again after some time away. As you accurately describe its fun to go from corner to corner, not too fast and admire the view along the way. I am 6 ft and i also tilted the bars back a bit towards me. I deleted the sissy bar and rear seat, smaller fairing and most importantly changed the gear linkage to a custom made one. Much more precise gear changes and no more false neutrals. Check out Glyn Owen's Bobber build using a Meteor.👍

I don’t want to sound horrible but RE are the Lidl of motorcycles having owned a Classic 350 and the breaking in period was so boring, half throttle, 3/4 throttle, I was to told to keep it under 50 for the first 1000 plus miles. Gave up after about 300 miles, i got zero excite, ent out of my one and I hadn’t the patience for that period so I got a Street Scrambler instead. I called my RE a nut thumper and didn’t really like the finish on it on closer inspection but it was dirt cheap new. Horses for courses, I’m sure their bigger bikes are better but from a price point, very reasonable and they work 👍 Good to see owner’s honest experience on their bikes 👍 Lovely vid.

@@tomboyabit Well let's see. Bike is a 2021 yellow Fireball. - Bullet shaped stainless steel licence plate bolts, (homage to original Bullet 350), backrest, premium seat, side tank protectors, larger foot pegs, engine guard, sump guard, fork gators, rear brake cylinder cover, headlight guard, windscreen, Honda side bag supports topped with soft leather bags, and oh yes, and a deer whistle. I "think" I'm pretty much done 😉. Thanks for asking.

Nice video. I like your sudden realisation as to how engaging it is to ride a small bike fast😁 I have several bikes but when I'm on my Royal Enfield Classic 500s I overtake more and take corners faster than when I am on my Triumphs, because, as you say, you have to work at it and figure things out and it gets very engaging and addictive. My REs are the bikes I always jump on first👍

Sweet bikes with a lovely motor and plenty of style. Centre stands are great btw. They are far more stable than a side stand (depending on where you park I guess) and in a garage etc, your bike takes up far less room as it's upright. Easier to work on too and your front wheel is off the ground. Stand facing the bike (looking across it). Place your left hand on the left handle bar (you don't have to keep the wheel straight as it will lift off the ground) and take a firm grip with your right hand at a point above the rear wheel. On this bike maybe under the pillion seat. Some bikes have a grab handle. Put your left foot against the sticking out part of the stand, press down to lock the stand against the ground, lean to the right and pull up and back. Firmly. Et voila. Anyway, that's how i do it!! :) And I'm right-handed.

Love my yellow Meteor. Colour for me just blends well and pops. I have put many accessories on mine to personally put my stamp on Bumble.
The DNA filter and and plate, is a no brainer up grade. Gives it a induction sound. Now have one the cat delete with the Red Rooster exhaust.
Although it’s limited to 75mph (real 72mph) it will achieve that, if you wish, so much easier through every gear, also helping on up hills, and the odd overtake.
Ride it flat out,and mpg suffers, ride it with in its eco mode 100mpg.
I also put low seat, as am very short in leg department. But very comfortable and relaxed position

great review , ive test rode a meteor fireball and loved it ,
Centre stands , first thing is they all need different amounts of effort to work but the basics are the same ,
1 stand on left of bile facing it,
2 grip laft handle bar with left hand ,place right foot on the centre stand on the bit that sticks out , place right hand under seat on grab handle if fitted or frame ,
3 then in a smooth nation pullback on handle bar poll up on grab handle and push down with foot all at same time , as your slim and light you may need to just stand in centre stand so your weight applies the require pressure and pop up the bike should go ,
4 To get off stand sir astride the bike with deer on floor and both hand on bars , and push forward with hands and legs , on some you may meed to pull back on bare first then push just to get some motion , grab brake to stop bike running away from you
    hope this helps

@@tomboyabit The trick is to lift and pull back in one motion, with smooth technique not strength. Imagine a movement from 9 o'clock to 1 o'clock. A flat surface helps so each side of the centre stand is resting before you begin to lift the bike.

Center stand drill: Left hand grips left hand grip, right hand grips pillion seat grab rail, raise the bike off the side stand while using your right foot to lower the center stand, “feel” that both of the center stand feet are in contact with the ground……now while keeping the handlebars straight with your left hand, simultaneously put all your weight on your right foot that is on the center stand and pull up on the rear grab handle.
It’s a bit of a balance act and requires some coordination, but once you master it you’ll be surprised how easy it is. 👍
One final note…..not all center stands are created equal, some bikes are much easier than others 😉.

@@tomboyabit Ok ! One of two ways; Either from the left side of the bike or straddling it, grab the handle bars and push forward while “covering the front brake lever so you don’t roll away. I find it easier to straddle the bike as I can use my weight against the bars to get things moving. (Sometimes a “rocking action” back to front helps 😉). I’d be glad to show you, but there the problem of an ocean between us 😆😆😆!

I've never used a central stand on a big bike before. It is quite common in Taiwan for 125 to 250cc scooters and bikes. Face your bike on the stand pedal side, put one hand on the handle, the other hand on the rear handle at the back of the seat, or some place that gives you a firm grip of the bike. Gently put down the stand until both of its feet are touching the ground, that will make sure that the bike is up right. Then put your whole weight on one point, the small area of the paddle on the central stand, and let gravity do the work. The stand should be designed well enough that your weight alone should be able to lift it, but that don't always happen. If your weight isn't enough, you have to step on the paddle with a lot of force, while pulling the bike backwards with both your hands, especially pulling from the rear. There is one final way to stand it, which is by sitting on the bike in the riding position. Step on the central stand while sitting on the bike, level the bike by making sure both feet of the stand is touching the ground. Grab both of the handles, left and right. Kick your left leg on the stand paddle as if jumping up, while pulling your bike back as if you're doing a whellie, but pull more backwards than upwards. You should end up standing on your left leg on the stand paddle, on the ground, with your bike parked. Hope this helps. The third method could be pretty hard to pull off if you're on a bike that is high enough that you can't put both your feet on the ground. Be careful while trying these methods.

my story, I had the Royal Enfield 650 Meteor for 1 year, nothing to say, a good bike for trips in the countryside and in town too, quite comfortable, never back pain, on the highway something else to overtake, often in difficulty, it drags, the braking is effective, after a year of use, I sold it, to buy a triumph bonneville 900, it's something else to have enough times on the highway.

I do like the Royal Enfield 350 models. That said, here in the US I fear I would find them not powerful and thus not geared high enough to give me the relaxed rides that I most enjoy. I own 3 motorcycles, 2001 Harley 883 Sportster, 1997 Honda PC800 Pacific Coast, and 1980 Honda CB750F. With any one of them I can cruise at lower speeds at really relaxed engine speeds. The one thing I do not have that the Enfield 350's do have is reduced weight. My bikes weigh between 485 lbs and 600 lbs.

Back to basics...! Just the way I like a bike to be. I don't need all the fancy electronics on todays bikes. My 2 bikes are from 1993 and 2002, so I have to work to make them do what I want..., that means, with my body weight and my right wrist. That said, it's the biggest reason why the original Katana is better than the new edition. This is a super bike to look at, especially in that burgendy red you had, the only thing I don't like about the Meteor (and this is my personal opinion) is the engine size, I would go with the 650s from RE, if I was in the Market for a new bike. Good review and a super idea engaging Martin to help you out.

I would probably enjoy this bike in the same way I enjoyed my 125cc bike when I learnt, but was pleased you said you wouldn't buy it - I agree there are many other bikes I'd buy before this one. Hold the bike upright and the center stand down with your left foot. Grab something stable under the back seat with your right hand, then lift and pull back at the same time with both hands, making sure you do it with a sudden jerk or surge of strength. The more times you practise that, the easier it gets.... practise makes perfect!

£300 for the first service!!!, You buy a good value bike to commute and get hit with dealer costs like that. just makes a warranty not worth having, you might as well buy 2nd hand and service it yourself that's the only way it makes any sense.

That isn't right. Their official top speed is 99. Also Yammie Noob test rode one and reached 99 mph. He did that in India, so maybe England has some weird rule that governs them???

Couldn’t have put it better myself, heavy bike with only 20 bhp doesn’t sound like much fun. I prefer my lightweight, 42 bhp bike which goes really well (0 to 60 in 5 secs) when I rev the nuts off it. I’m 74 and still like a bit of action ! Forgot to say, my nose hair’s well under control !

Evening Tomboy_a_bit. My mp3 player stops me getting bored when I feel the need for music. Otherwise the engine sound and views, even on moterways and I'm good. I fitted a DNA filter I got from Hitchcocks on Saturday. My 650 Super Meteor not only runs cooler. But it's pick-up is much better. Safe riding till next time girl 👍😊.
