The silhouette of the tripods are so intimidating. I've always wanted to see this particular design of tripod in different environments. Seeing them in the fog in the distance is so cool!
@@Amethyst.commenter Uberpods aren't /that/ big. That thing was like 5 times taller than a normal tripod, where an Uber is just like a bit taller, wider, and has 2 more spotlights.
I would love to see this with the musical tripods. The mechanical nature of them has always been cool but the way the machines move also feel quite organic sometimes.
This needs to be an actual like hour long found footage type series, genuinely surprised no one has done a war of the worlds analog horror yet, such a good idea for one.
Apparently, people aren’t a fan of the 2005 War of the Worlds movie, but I honestly love it, and I’m glad that other people like it enough to do stuff like this The book is also incredible, and ( in my opinion ) HG Wells’ second best book, right behind The Invisible Man
The movie isn't that good I'd say. They could have capitalised more on this type of horror stuff and the storyline of how the aliens came would have been wonderful addition and it could have been one of the best movies out there. I honestly think the movie is mid, the design behind tripods to make it look scary and beautiful at the same time is fascinating.
I like how we see a few at first and get a feel of the size of them. Then we just see a massive one emerge from the fog that shatters what we were getting comfortable with.
War of The Worlds is one of my FAVOURITE movies and literature of all time and i absolutely love that you applied it's concept to analog horror, awesome job!!
This video is a true masterpiece! And being honest, the tripods might not be the smartest or most creative type of alien ship, but man... in my opinion, tripods are the scariest one. It's not a flying ominous giant spaceship... it's just a ship, that looks like it came directly from an eldrich story. It's a big, metalic pod with tentacles that can shoot rays, turning you into dust. Or even worst... harvest you. It's a machine, but if feels like a monster.
Hey man, Appreciate you liking my vid and using it in your video! I'm happy for you to use it, but in future, mentioning the creator in the description or pinned comments would be the polite thing to do. All the best!
An amazing movie/book, combined with an amazing horror genre. It kinda surprises me how this just barely became a thing, but props to you for being the first person to make something like this (I think). Great job man 👍
more of the 3rd. and also War of the Worlds is just getting popular because of things like this so i'm not really supposed to get credited like this. but thanks anyway
This scenario would be so creepy just these tripod things that look like they are from the matrix comr in out of nowhere, and it turns out they have been there as long as humans are scary
One of the things that I've always wanted to see from analog horror is a person just recording from a distance watching these things move with a realistic atmosphere. Maybe having some experiences with these things up close. Like a person evading a probe.
Cool creepy video, the reveal of a Tripod larger than any building in the city was super well done. War of the Worlds always scared me to death as a kid. It gave me that helpless feeling of: "If our military cant fight it, who can?" Theres something really uncanny about a walker from another world calmly walking and turning around observing as if they own the place and know we dont stand a chance.
this is very well made and really captures the sheer scale of these tripods. i love how you included different types of tripods as well. overall, this deserves way more views!
It would’ve been more better if we saw a tape scene where they were spraying the surroundings with their red fungus, but overall, as a WOTW fan, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY GOREGOUS!!!❤🙌
Finally, why have people waited so long to make this? I've been waiting for this for a while but I can't do it cuz I don't know how to animate. Thank you
As a person who actually read the war of the world's book and watched the movie, it's cool how you interpreted the original horror style of the book with the tripod designs of the movie
Listened to the giant tripod on Skullcandy crushers and even played it in my car with two JL 10’s. Did not disappoint. Got goosebumps. Love the video as well haha.
I love analogue horror so much for this reason. I think it would be fun to see these videos without the fuzzy VHS overlay. I'm quite interested in how things were made.
Wish I could see striders walking around like this, imagine a half life 2 analog horror, the combine taking over, documented in a small analog horror video, would love it!
Note for the text below: This is the only video i have ever watched of these lil (fucking gigantic) critters, i have no idea what they actually are or like anything about them; so the thing below is just my interpretation of what i *think* they are. Because of how the beings look like they aren't destroying anything(they might be I can't really tell) it gives me the idea/feeling that they are just like a regular species you see from your day to day. Especially with the 'they have been here forever' gives me the sense that in this alternate earth(or just another planet) these long bois have just co-existed with humanity, like deer or other wildlife. But it can be taken as they have arrived some time ago (can be like a day to months) and they just won't fucking leave.
Lemme give you a speech on lore about this: The title “They've Been Here Forever” actually represents these aliens. They were underground since earth wars formed, in the 15th century, they rose up from underground, and they also came in cylinders with these giant alien machines, the two tripods you see in this video is 2 of the 20 variants that came to earth every century, this being the 20th century means one of the most most dangerous ones came: The 2005 Tripods. As shown in this video. (Story, Lore, and all inspiration come from War of the Worlds.)
I would do ungodly things to have an alien invasion found footage movie in the War of the Worlds universe. Tripods are fucking terrifying and the Spielberg WotW movie is one of my all time faves. Please make more of this 👀
