I've been playing for about 2 years fully now and this last year was the most effort zos had put into its game in a long while. MMOs are all about grinding for rewards to show off what you got. You can't show off your grind if it's all locked behind loot boxes which like 90% of mounts are.
-Give more rewards through grinding. Gives people a reason to play older dlcs and newer content.
-add more bag space whether it be coffers or anything purchasable with in game gold if they dont want to remove craft bag from plus
-Housing space should not be pinned to plus or limit how many special furnishings you can put in. Some cost 50$ worth of crowns for 1.
-add a new class every expansion
-Wayshrines, Stamina, speed and inventory should be account wide. Nobody wants to re do any of this on an alt. None of it is attached to story content.
You can't keep every player satisfied. But you can keep steady retention instead of pushing newer players away and expecting the older players to carry the crown store sales. They will get more sales lowering prices on scrolls, armory slots etc than they will keeping them where they are at.

my biggest problem with this game is not having a crafting bag to store all my things...its almost REQUIRED that I get the ESO+ if that craft bag was available to all players, i dont mind paying for the dlcs and the newly added content. Craft bag really is the only thing holding me back. I dont have enough space in bank/bangs.

@@swanvonmane8533 double XP, double tel var, double AP buff, plus transmutation reduction cost for ESO+ along with some of the current bonuses like housing space and bank space. During events you'll just get 300% instead of the regular 200% boost. Maybe even throw in double inventory space as well. Making the craft bag free (like in most games) would definitely open up the gates for a lot of players to come back or continue playing. Along with DLCs, I'd say that's a pretty nice boost to game play however the double AP might pose a huge problem for emp status on cyro

Better endgame reward system, clear communication, faster patches, Aoe taunt for tanks, more variety in meta gear options ie. every Dps class using pillar of Nirn with trial set = boring and uninspired, just the few I can think of off the top of my head

I think they should add a 4th skill line for each class. and make the morphs for each skill actually different instead of stam and magic make the choice a hard one. I'm not a fan of the necro change to blast bone but at least it's something different. i agree with everyone that there needs to be more earnable rewards. overland needs a difficulty setting. I also think it would be cool if they added a third type of dungeon/trial where there would be random FX like enemies doing more of certain kind of damage, or it being darker than usual. i hope the pvp update is good it would be fun to see a tournament kinda. help the sweats have something. some kinda rank system or something to work towards.

One thing I've been wishing for are continuations of previous chapter zone stories. I feel like the conclusion of older zone stories leave a lot of unanswered questions. ZOS is actually doing something to address this with the upcoming Gold Road chapter. So we'll see how that goes. Thanks for the video Cooper

I actually would love to see more Class-Skills, that needs to be earned ingame - and each class gets its own Guild just as the warrior guild, mage guild and so on. Just to have a place were you are connected to regarding your own origins. Oh - and to add up a bit more to the dialogues: Secret Quests. All quests are usually shown with that symbol over the head. Talk and listen to people, having a conversation with them that can lead to different endings - and as a possible reward you can get access to secret missions/quests once they start trusting you. At the moment you only have the need to talk, if they are quest-NSCs - and even then, you can just skip and look at your UI were to go. So this is more about discovery instead of simply reading signs.
Finaly ZOS could set the PVE-Overworld-Content to Easy....because it is not easy at the moment, it is Story-Difficulty. Almost impossible to die in casual PVE-Overworld-Content. So an upgrade to Easy-Level would be very welcome.
    Just for the PVE-RP-Gamers.

I went from playing every day to
Doing crafting writs and endeavors daily to
Logging in for daily rewards to
    Not logging in at all.
There are several issues but let’s start with the crafting bag. They create a problem and sell the solution. This game is virtually unplayable without a crafting bag. With the crafting bag and a banker and merchant you can get every reward without limits in the game. Without a crafting bag you now have to choose what is and isn’t worth taking. As an old time hoarder I just can’t abide by that.
They also “rebalanced” sets and builds every 3 months which really pissed me off. If they want to do one general balance and make everything equal then fine, do it. Rip the band aid off and just do it. What it seems they are doing is finding the sets or skills that nobody uses and changing them to make them more viable and nerfing the stuff that everyone’s using. So every 3 months the game changes. Now some people like that, great. I don’t. The answer isn’t to change existing stuff it’s to add new stuff and let players switch if they want. Nerfing a set I spent time farming or a skill I use all the time doesn’t add anything to the game experience for me. Making something that was good, less good isn’t the right way to go. The answer is to offer something new and entice me to change.
Now in regards to the offering something new. There’s a practice of selling a new DLC with over-powered items (armor, mythics whatever) and it’s the new meta only to be nerfed later. I get it. They want to sell the new DLC which is not included with ESO plus. Instead of offering balanced stuff they make it OP only to nerf it later. So why bother? It’s just a cycle.
The card game isn’t Gwent and any time spent on it is a waste when the game has so many other problems.
Lastly the levelling system (linear levelling) isn’t rewarding at all. I’m over CP 2700 and anything over 1800 didn’t mean anything. Oh there’s an event with double XP!!!! Great. It means absolutely nothing.
If they want to make levelling mean anything then eliminate the slotted CP and make it all passives. If that’s a problem for PVP then make all PVP no CP. Problem solved.
As of right now I have no incentive to come back to play, do events or buy DLC. The current business practices are a disincentive to continue which is a shame because I loved the game, the lore and levelling up but hate the endgame.

1: fix the animations so they don’t look stupid in first person
2: make an option for harder overland content
3: bring back leveled areas, or maybe even an option.

Just balancing pvp and pve separately using Battle Spirit would go a long way toward making more current and former players happy. I get that they want a more consistent product, but it's been an obvious problem for 11 years now. It's time to use that function more widely.

But mainly because there isn't much to chase as far as rewards.
Yeah, there's a few mounts and whatnot if you do trials perfectly (aka trifecta) but I'm not really into trials as they are more monotonous than I thought they'd be.
And everything in the Crown store (& Crowns) is expensive.
    There's no incentive

I think if they just keep adding solid changes people will come back. I think something to keep in mind is that not everyone who left the game left with a bad taste in their mouth. People also left because they were just burnt out of the game and were looking for that one thing to break the camels back so to speak. Not to say there werent grievances but I think all they really need to do is keep going tbh. Take in the feedback like hey we need some pvp stuff, hey we need some balance changes at a less frequent rate and they will be fine. There are new players that jump into the game and enjoy it, you can still find all content across the game being pretty populated except maybe tales of tribute. But the arcanist is a really fun class, infinite archieve is pretty fun (would love a 4-8player version of it as well). The meta is not that bad at all with alot of builds being pretty viable in the game, we are seeing shifts to a system in combat were you have to slot more things to get the passive buff rather then constantly reapplying them. There is alot of positive with the game that I think gets lost in the sauce, and with enough changes people will come back at different times. We also have to keep in mind alot of games are returning to their normal populations, covid era is done people went back to work and returned to their busy lives. With all that said I definetly do think there are things they can improve and such for sure but I don't think they need to super emphasis on winning back old players, they just have to keep making the game bigger and better and in time that will bring people back just as any solid mmo does.

Quit about a year ago 9860 hours played, idk if there’s much they can do to get people back tbh. It’s more of a too little too late thing. They are so hard set in doing things they want and not what their player base wants. PvP doesn’t work, healing and tanking is boring beyond belief and chasing top tier dps numbers having to farm new sets every 3 months is exhausting. But that crown store always works. There’s little to no reward for content that’s way too difficult. Hard content is ok, but the game is not easy to pick up and play. There’s such a huge learning curve that new players will never reach. This creates a mile high club that’s impossible to get into for new players who want to raid. I don’t want them to nerf content, I want them to make the three roles more enjoyable and accessible to play. AOE taunts, meaningful damage for tanks and healers and make the majority of damage come from the abilities we use not the sets we wear. This will lessen the gap between good and awful sets. And for all the casual and housing people, ik this isn’t something you guys care about but you guys deserve rewards too. There should be cool skins for crafting achievements and more polymorphs and mounts as rewards for quests. For people who like PvP… well I’m sorry bros

Difficult to be objective, but I don't think the game's been in such good shape for quite a while. There are always the old salts who can nuke a world boss with a few well delivered farts and moan that it's become boring but I think they've forgotten how much enjoyment they've had and a lot of others are still having. I think the more important thing is to consider the people who love the idea of it but are so daunted by the sheer complexity and variety that they give up before they've even really started. Personally, I've reached what I regard as my own personal endgame several times then found some other things to do. But you can keep vH, I don't care that much...

I prefer roleplaying and single-player stuff with the occasional dip into PvE & PvP. The questing is simply not fun. It never feels like I'm crafting a unique story with my character, it feels like I'm just grinding out the story for a particular zone. The world doesn't feel alive and connected like it did with the faction questlines.
The occasional evergreen, game-wide feature helps, but it's not enough.

I left with U35. Here's why I will never come back.
    1. The devs don't understand or play the game.
    2. The devs don't communicate or engage with feedback.
    3. Nearly every set is useless filler.
    4. ESO+ is needed for basic quality of life rather than as an enticing bonus.
    5. There are almost zero in-game rewards.
    6. 99% of the content is braindead easy.
    7. Classes have no identity.
    8. The constant meta shifts are annoying and poorly executed.
    9. There's no progression after like 1,200 CP.
    10. The mounts and skins are lazy.
    11. The new jabs animation is hilariously bad.
    12. Trials are a net loss due to expensive potions, etc. with only trash gear as a reward.
    13. Rich Lambert hasn't been fired.
    14. Devs randomly destroy core skills (e.g. Blastbones).
    15. Lowering the ceiling and raising the floor on damage disincentives good play.
    16. Redundant group buffs/debuffs hurt class identity and diversity in group comps.
    17. Hybridization is still not even halfway implemented.
    18. Class balance is so bad that most endgame groups have 7-8 people on the same class, in the same gear, with the same kit.
    19. The devs balance by spreadsheet with zero regard for fun, which they deride as "anecdotal."
    20. They ban people all the time for their own mistakes (e.g. transmute fiasco).
    21. They refuse to balance PVP/PVE separately.
Could go on. There's a lot I like and miss about this game, but the negatives vastly outweigh the positives.

@@badger_ninja8681 I'm a stamden main: for me I like being able to switch between my melee and bow setups depending on the content. They're different playstyles and add a lot of variety. The arcanist has none of that because their main ability is so dominant.
I agree with your comment with Oakensoul HA builds. However, these builds were not parsing 200k dps in boss fights in trials! Oakensoul was good for getting mid-tier players into harder content but not for endgame players.

Fire the entire top brass. Trust is permanently broken. These are political positions in the company, they will be picked up by other studios quickly and will have pay packages. They are stale here and it shows. Keep in mind this is in response to the question of what would bring back players. New management is the answer.

Pvp fix: good bye cross healing, good bye 8k weapon damage+40k+ resistances builds with 3k+ recoveries.
Make ball groups in pvp a legitimate form of end game, versus a full on heal stack with a 3,2,1 ult mentality.
PVE: make overland content remotely challenging
Trials should be hard. Hardmodes should be hard. Make it challenging, make it not an open door for everyone.
Vet dlc dungeons should also be hard; reward the lesser occupied roles more(good tanks/healers in pve content are RARE, reward those folks gamewide, make it actually appealing to perform those roles)

For new players in dlc zones overland is challenging. Maybe not run around in trial gear and full cp doing quests

@@badger_ninja8681I agree but you can have both by introducing vet overland mode so people who want the challenge can do it but expscting people to not wear armor they worked hard is not how it works no one does that.

@@Jubafree I'm not saying they can't do that I'm saying they have increased the difficulty several times over the years. Any further would destroy the balance for new players. Vet version would just be boosted health to enemies and less damage done btw so I wouldn't ask for that if I were you. The development time for anything else would be absurd.

I could be way off base here but I'll offer my take for how they can bring people in.
1: A combat overhaul. ESO Combat isn't particularly bad, but its not great either. Only have access to 5 skills and an ultimate per bar seems very limiting, especially when you compare it to other MMOs like Black Desert that allows you to make use of dozens of skills through button combinations instead of just a single button per skill. I understand they would need to do some work on so other basic game functions as well if they were to go that route, such as movement in general, but that is a decision they have to make.
2: Have some zones require you to be higher level/CP level to complete, and if you want to do it sooner, they should design it so you can group up with other under-leveled players to complete it.
3: This one is probably going to be the most controversial, but they should make it so you don't have a class anymore. Its an Elder Scrolls game after all and they have always been about the freedom to play how you want. In order to not completely rebuild the whole game, they should allow you to pick a "starting class", like you normally pick a class now, but through questlines, dungeon content etc. you can acquire the skill lines to the other classes as well. Some adjustment would need to be made to some passives for it to work and to not completely break the game however.
4: This is just a personal wish of mine, but I love the lore of Akavir yet we get virtually nothing from that part of the Elder Scrolls world. I would love to see like a 2-3 year span of expansions into the continent of Akavir, preferably with some sort of PVP addition.

I've never played this crap, and I never will. Shit lore, ripoff plot that Oblivion did better, and horrible gameplay in general. I'd almost sooner play Starfield than give this shit so much as a chance.
