This video was shot in the fall of 2023 and it's crazy to see how much things have grown since then. This felt like the turning point of when things started taking off for my shop at the time and I'm so glad I documented it. Let me know how you like the video!
Loved watching all of it. I had actually been wanting to get into doing one if not each of these type of production products. I am so glad I watched how complicated and knowledge intensive it really takes. Not to mention the money to get this far. Good job man. You're living my dream.
I've been following your channel since the basement days. I found it while searching for info on screen printing t-shirts. I've since abandoned that endeavor but never stopped following your channel. I don't watch it often but I tune in from time to time and I'm so impressed with the growth. Amazing job! I wish I had stuck with something I had created for myself instead of working for someone else, looks so rewarding no matter how hard or the hours you put in. I just wanted to congratulate you in all the success and can't wait to see when the shop and your orders get bigger.
Been following you for about probably a little over 5 years, I remember watching your videos about learning how to screen print way back when. It's been awesome to see the growth over the years! Keep it up!
Lee! You've got to give print grip a try on your platens. Our shop switched to it 6 months ago and I couldn't believe the change. No more glue on the floor, no more overheating issues. Game changer. Grab an orbital sander and a 50/50 spray container of plastisolv + water and you have fresh platens in like 30 seconds - 1 min tops. No more resurfacing or fussing with platen tape. Love to see the progress of your shop!
Hell yeah brother. That was dope! I need to get on the sticker game. And those boxes came out really clean. The white boxes with black ink was a great idea. Keep it up and can't wait to see the weekly videos.
I love seeing shops in motion! Once again, Lee, can't say enough about the quality of your shots and video editing, production value is super high. Glad you were able to find some help for the shop, makes it so you can focus on other things. Keep up the hu$tle!
I’m new to screen printing still, and did my first halftone photo print this weekend. I love your videos which gives me inspiration and shows me there is so much more to learn.
Congratulations man! You have come such a long way since I started watching the channel when you were still in the basement. Major inspiration for some many printers.
The anticipation was worth it! I'm still at the super small garage printer at this stage, but I always love watching you work and your processes. Thanks Lee!
There’s so much happening in this video! Super relatable and a solid roundup of what a week can look like. And even more important a good example of how hard it is to estimate how long work can take even if you are trying to push full steam ahead.
It is so awesome to see just how far you’ve come Lee. From the video quality to the printing. Absolutely awesome to see the progress you’ve made. The fact that you are always trying to learn new tricks and knowledge puts you so many steps ahead! Keep up the awesome work 👊
I so wished I lived in Canada.. 15 years of experience under my belt with screen printing and embroidery still doing it for work till this day .. I'll never leave it .. hoping one day I'll have my own shop... it would be an honor to work in your shop ..
Awesome man, been following since the begining. Used to own a print shop and closed up. Now i run a video game company with employees refurbishing and selling consoles and business is booming. Even though im not in the print game anymore, youre still a giant motivation with your creativity and especially business views/processes. Keep up the dope work brotha
Follower from India. Getting really inspired from your work. Me and my wife working on a small scale like you are doing. Our next plan is to scale our business like your current shop. Wish you all the best for your business.
Lee I live in the United States and have been printing for 6-7 years in mostly sports oriented shops, and man I would die to work in a shop like yours and continue learning and improving on what I do. That would be the dream.
Lee, you've been a huge motivation to our little shop that we started in 2019. Obviously the pandemic affected us in many ways, but we still have our shop up and running. Whenever I doubt myself if we should continue, the "PUT IN THE FUCKING WORK" comes to mind and boost my spirits. You are a legend in the screen printing world and a superstar. Thank you for continuing with providing content to us in your busy life. 👏🏻👏🏻
Glad to see you back on the videos. Can only imagine how hard running the shop is plus videoing. Two full time jobs. Awesome job as always and. Keep putting in the fucking work. Best slogan out there.
Looking good! Yeah white highlight is best to print last especially if no cooldown station due to flashtime and heat needed to dry it enough for the next color.
I usually print white last but I also mix it up depending on the print and the color coverage. That's the fun part of wet on wet, a lot of the basic rules go out the window
Lee! I’m your guys for embroidery! I have 2 years of experience on Tajima machines, and about 7-9 months of digitizing. I also do screen printing, I’d love to fly and check your shop out, I’m always looking to move my small family somewhere new. Is there a way we can talk and I can reach out? Thanks!
Great video! I just subscribed! I'm getting into apparel. I just bought a TransPro 1620 heat press. I own a small and large format printing company here in Las Vegas, and this seems like the next step in growing my business.
Nice! It's definitely a good addition to add to your business. You already have the clients looking to put their name onto things, it's an easy upsell to convince them to make some clothing. Good luck!
You are a Rock Star! i could't stop watching. Kept feeling like i was watching a West Coast Customs show with a professional video crew and production. The videography, the music and content were amazing. And you only swore a couple of times during the video. That must have been hard....lol
Wish I lived there. Been following your journey for a few years now and hell, I'd even mop the floors for a job just to get in and learn more haha. Keep up the awesome work man
Lee, you put out amazing products in every aspect. I noticed you have links to your gear. Do you have links to what you use for your sticker as far as equipment? Those were fantastic. Love watching you work. Straight shooting and to the point. Keep up the great work.
If i would not live in Switzerland, i would definitively want to work for you! Could bring in grahic design, as a trained graphic designer, i did screenprinting as part of my education and i teach myself everyday, since i'm kind of a nerd. So that's why i started a motrcycling wrapping shop, learning all the shit about wrapping, printing on vinyl and laminating. Keep on rocking! PS: did i mention that i LOVE your buildings and how clean they are - from outside and the inside.
Appreciate this video. I am afforded an opportunity to buy a whole screen printing set up from a school who discontinued the class. I will be getting it for a fraction of the cost new. I also found a location I could set shop up in. I am just worried about the learning curve as well as running out of money during start up without closing enough deals. Your video was extremely motivating as well as informational. Thank you!
I haven't been in the screenprinting and embroidery game in a long time, but one thing I wasted to do, back in the day, was to work out a sort of dust collection system, much like they use in woodshops. Both with lint and adhesive overspray, it would be great to have something actively pulling floating lint and adhesive overspray, at the source. I could see having a whole shop dust vac system, with localized intakes near the automatic's load station and along the base of the embroidery's table. Something that could create negative pressure that sucks anything floating or falling from those area, could probably take care of 80% of the mess caused by those processes. Lint and adhesive overspray are insidious, over time.
On the brown leatherette, you might also try adjusting your “scan gap” or “line interval” not sure what your software calls it. I run my speed at 400, with a 60 watt tube. Thanks for sharing all of your hard work, it keeps me inspired as I run two single head machines knocking out hats on a Sunday.
Lee I’ll come work for you my guy I do the same thing and been waiting to work hands on with big machines. I have my own small setup but knowledge is power. Been watching your progress as motivation for a while now.
I bought the Gen 2 frames a couple years ago and decided they are over priced and sold them. The Tajima cap frames are so much better than the Melco that we were used to for years so we definitely noticed the difference and benefit between those. Finally got all 6 melco's sold and got a EZ 6 head to sit next to our KC 6 head we got in November arriving this week. As someone like you who trusted Melco and switched to Tajima I am sure you have the same conclusion as I do!
Great job and awesome to see the videos back. Would be great if you could go into detail of hiw much of your turnover is taken up by payments for all the machines you havebin the shop.
Very impressive! I couldn't stop watching from the beginning to the end even though the video is more than 50 minutes long (can't imagine how much time you spent editing 🤪). Congratulations on your achievements in such a short period of time 💪🏽
Hey Lee, totally enjoyed this vlog. As a single person, very small shop (single head Tajima TMEZ -1501) it’s cool to see how much one person can actually do in the run of a day. Gives me some hope, and some tips to keep it going. So frustrating starting out, but knowing where you came from is good to know. Cheers bud.
If you dedicate your time and use it efficiently, one person can get a lot done in a single day. But it's definitely much better as a team. I'm up to 5 people now and I could use more
Agreed, my hope is to hire my two grandkids, mentor them and turn the business over to them. Lots learn and research though. Awesome videos, very helpful to me. Like you I had issues with my Tajima (mostly me), but they’re techs are great and got me going.
I run scotch bright pads on the end of my drill to quickly remove lint between hoods and t’s. Changing the platens on an auto would be way quicker though, not so much on my manual.
awesome work and awesome shop... I love watching your videos .. if I lived in Canada I would of applied .. question what kind of blank cap was that you were wearing on Saturday the olive color?
Loved it, I'd love to learn all that and do all that, i think the hardest part would be photoshop designing. I love how an idea can turn into an awesome design and look sick. you've progressed so far from your basement. I feel like in 5 years you'll end up doubling your shop size.
Hey Lee, I've been watching and following along from the start. I had my own print shop out of the spare bedroom for a while, but glad to see you've been ABSOLUTELY killing it🤘Keep putting in that fucking work bud🤙
