False. Kibaki remained Vice President until he resigned voluntarily on Christmas Day 1988. 10 years later.

@@geonalugala Njonjo was pushed out of politics in 1984. Most other senior kikuyu politicians either jumped ship or were pushed out very soon afterwards. Kibabki resigned in 1988. that means he resigned 4 years after the battle against the kikuyu nation had begun. Moi introduced Nicholas biwott to become the kalenjin equivalent of what njonjo once was in the kenyatta government.
