My 1966 f250 with the 300 six, four speed T18 Warner granny four speed and 4.10 rear really wind up that engine. When my dad drove it he really never went over 55 mph.

I guess they needed the 4.10s with the six, but with a granny gear and all the torque I really don't see why. Having a highway gear would have been a little more helpful, but back then trucks were used around town way more often than they are used for everyday transportation like today.

Or raise the pinion up 8degrees and level the purches.

Too bad you didn't have a new big building to work out of. Oh wait, you do. 😆

That rear looks like its wide. Hopefully your wheels won't be sticking out beyond the
truck bed. Not a big fan of lifted vehicles, personally I prefer a lower center of gravity.
Hope the rear of your transmission is at 10 degrees so it matches what you've done
with the rear angle. Looks awesome, enjoying this project

The van rear is within about 3/4" of the original rear. It's a beefier axle tube with way bigger brakes so a definite upgrade. I think I screwed the pinion up, but once the drivetrain is in I'll fix it. Never had a lifted 4x4 before so I'm looking forward to that.

In this video it has been sandblasted and painted with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Plus and then topped with Rustoleum flat black
