    Each aircraft has a set of speeds at which the flaps can be retracted. For the 737 usual takeoff is flap 5, with retraction to flap 1 at 190 knots and flaps up at 210 knots.

    @xesionprince It Provides more lift where they need it the most Takeoff and Landing (Low Speeds), To answer your question yes, flaps get retracted after takeoff as the aircraft has reached the point where the pilot doesent need them anymore

    Because there is one B735 called "ice ice baby" that I got to ride when flying to east midlands from belfast.

    well, flaps is only to reduce stall speed of an aircraft, enables it to fly with lower speed. I guess when the aircraft had achieved certain speed after takeoff, it can fly better without the flaps anymore.

    Reduce the number of dependancies on BMI's diminishing funds.
