  • How do you improve your aim in Valorant using Aim Labs and Kovaaks correctly so you can aim like yay, jinggg, and demon1? I explain in this video how to have good aim training habits while also attempting to dispel some misconceptions around the use of aim trainers in Valorant.

    great video! My journey was so similar to yours; I spent like 3-4 months on gridshot and other popular scenarios with little to no improvement in rank. I bounced between silver1-3 for that time period. After watching a few different videos/streams I changed up my aimlabs routine and made new playlists that focused on the things you mentioned. Then I climbed to diamond and realized I needed to work on my movement (deadzoning etc) and then finished asc 2 last act. Looking forward to more content! Best of luck

    Radiant GM1 aimlabs/nova VT here. I love this video, this is pretty much my journey exactly! Not alot of ppl go into detail about how bad the beginner scens are and how unintuitive the whole system is. I met VT Yrup (#2 on some vt scens ww) in a game who got me started properly and from there I started what u did. Static scens that are heavily publicly praised like six shot is pretty much useless outside of very beginner mouse control as it neither replicates a real game scenario which is always dynamic nor does it train your speed for static flicks.
    The reason why ppl think aim trainers doesnt improve their in game performance is because they have a misconception of aiming. Tracking/general fighting is all dynamic aiming, the only times u use static aim is when you flick as the motion is so quick so can essentially see the enemy as a still target. Your base wide wall multi small target scens wont help u with that as even the WW for those scens do not even come close to the speed of a flick. And the biggest part of hitting flicks consistently is 1) able to quickly recognize the distance to the target, and 2) being able to recall and perform a pertained set of movement to cover that distance without thinking. Its almost like seeing a target and hitting a macro key, there is no thought behind it. For this, smaller fov, slightly bigger, single targets scens are better as the smaller fov and bigger targets allow you to hit them consistently while maintaining a high speed. obv as u get better u can go for 30% smaller version too.
    Ppl grind static small target scens while maintaining a 95% acc at a decent KPM wont help them because they are neither quickly reacting to new targets (multi target so u always know where the next one is) nor is their switch speed between targets fast enough to train speed. Its simply impossible to train ur flicks on something that is so accuracy focused like six shot. In the real game, your enemies wont line up for u and wait for you to get a good shot placement to accurately hit their head, they will simple start shooting before u even if they are less accurate. And targets that small in the real game are sufficiently far away that you shouldn't need to resort to flicking in the first place.
    Second is the lack of dynamic scens. Training vertical and horizontal separately and then combining them at the end of the day is key but most aim trainer players dont even train the right dynamic scens or doesnt know what they are looking for. Small, fast moving targets should be the key here as its more accurately reflective of the heads of enemies in game. For val in particular, the goal isnt to perfectly track the enemy (dont do just m1 tracking scens lol) but to set up ur crosshair in a way that ur able to predict the movement and click when they crosses ur crosshair.
    The game is more about crosshair placement and tapping as they cross than anything else. Accurately locking on to a fast moving target that is tiny is nearly impossible, the most reasonable thing, and the most common thing that professional and high elo players do is to have good awareness to consistently keep that crosshair placement, good mouse control to set up the shots after seeing how fast/close the enemy is, and then clicking when they get on target. There are few exceptions such as tenz, saya etc that are naturally god like microflickers, but less mechanically talented players such as us, the general public, can still achieve a similar level with much higher consistency doing the above.
    Anyways, great video!

    • @splaram
      @splaram  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks and I agree wholeheartedly with what you've said here. I've significantly decreased the amount of static I do recently and replaced it with more dynamic scens and have been seeing huge leaps in my Val aim. That and DM (as appallingly bad as it is) are key to developing good aim in this game imo

    • @KerberosVal
      @KerberosVal ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@splaram dm is alright, but TDM is much better. The issue with DM is that u shoot a lot of enemies who aren’t full horizontally swinging u and ppl that aren’t looking at u so u get a false sense of the combat dynamics. In a real duel things are drastically different

    If you grind aim trainers, you'll be great at aim trainers. But aimings like a piece of the puzzle in competitive play, and in that environment you need other components beyond just aiming. But if raw aim is a priority for you, then yeah, fundamental or specific routines will put you on the right track. As for trainers, Aimbeast is also worth checking out if you're looking for alternatives.

  • @ReFleX62
    @ReFleX62 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    this is a good video, and it covers a topic that i haven't seen covered, really anywhere. Valorant is first and foremost about speed, accuracy comes second. If the other person has 55% accuracy, but they're 20-30 ms faster they win more duels than you. Problem with aim trainers is they force you to focus on accuracy which comes at the cost of speed. Now you need to go full circle, and go back to the large targets that you see tenz and the rest of the valorant community doing, because speed is more important than accuracy.

    • @splaram
      @splaram  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I found that the more I grinded accuracy, the faster I got whilst still maintaining my accuracy. So I still have the speed that comes from grinding Gridshot-type scenarios without the inconsistency that also comes from only grinding Gridshot-type scenarios. Might make a follow-up video in the future to explain this more.

    • @ReFleX62
      @ReFleX62 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@splaram ... yes this is something all aim trainer people talk about, they seem very vocal about it. I understand i have decent aim trainer scores and have experience the same thing with focusing on accuracy. When you focus on accuracy you can actually see the flaws in your aim, and that helps you improve. However, accuracy does not win you gun fights, speed does as i mentioned before. People form the aim training community have criticized demon1s aim routine, they said the targets were too large, and i disagree with them. Large targets are better for aim training that translates to valorant. It seems counter intuitive, because small targets help you focus on accuracy which improves your aim overall, but large targets improve your speed, this is why you see valorant pros train with large targets. Training with small targets trains your brain to value accuracy over speed, which helps you improve your aim overall, but in the end it trains your brain to value accuracy over speed.
      TLDR; train with small targets to improve your aim, train with large targets to improve your speed.

    I'm reading this before watching the video because I'm impatient asf.
    The thing with aimtrainers is that people don't use them right, they rather focus on the scores instead of getting better at aiming because they think that getting better scores = better aim but that's not the case here. If you want to aimtrain with aimtrainers then you should play for consistency rather than for good scores, playing for scores and thus faster with less consistency will do the exact opposite, it may make your aim in some rare scenarios faster but it makes it also A LOT more inconsistent and thus worse than before. I personally use aimtrainers but honestly rather because I think they're fun.
    If you want to improve your aim with aimtrainers then you should play a variety of scenarios (not only flicking) also tracking, flicking (static, moving etc), target switching etc, reaction maps etc. also you should always keep a consistency of above 90.

    • @splaram
      @splaram  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't fully agree with completely discounting scores, I think they can be good when used right. For example I like to make sure that I'm getting anything within 10-5% of my high score when doing a scenario to make sure that I'm actually pushing myself properly instead of doing the reps just to do them. I've also found that when I'm focusing on doing the technique right, my scores will go up regardless of if I worry about them or not and the results translate in-game much more effectively so seeing my scores plateau is a big sign that I'm doing something wrong.
      Also yeah playing a variety of stuff to improve your aim is a given but this is more targeted towards people who want to start now with Valorant-specific training, but I have a video coming out soon that will cover that part more in-depth.
      And last I checked 85% was the target for more evasive dynamic scenarios while 95% was the target for static

    • @splaram
      @splaram  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was a high rank in another FPS before I started aim training and doing it made my aim a lot more crisp and started getting me a lot more kills that I usually wouldn't have and in turn started winning me a lot more rounds and games. I like to think that the same thing would happen if a high-ranked Valorant player picked it up after never doing it before. Obviously Valorant is very utility and strategy-heavy but I like to say that unless you're aiming like Tenz, your mechanics can always be improved. I'd try it out a bit and see how you like it and how it affects your gameplay before fully committing, although I must caution you about your aim getting worse for a while before it gets significantly better as you're forced to break bad habits and basically re-learn how to aim properly.

      @@splaram yeah, I appreciate the time spend on the reply. I feel I’ve always had decent aim, across a number of different games and aiming style. I used to play VERY high sense in Fortnite and a game called krunker as I used to have no mouse space. So starting valorant I played 1600 dpi 1 in game, I did this up until d3 where I moved down to 0.4 800 to get into immortal 3. I now play 1600 dpi 0.1 so a tenth of my original sense so my aim style has changed and I am much more consistent than I was 2 years ago. All of my aim training comes from deathmatch because of it actually relating to crosshair placement and how valorant actually is. I feel if I started aim training it wouldn’t relate to valorant as much as it would just be general mouse control. I honestly just play for fun so do 1 dm to warm up the hands and go straight into games which works for me. Maybe if I want to hit radiant over the summer I’ll pick up some aim training.

  • @3choblast3r4
    @3choblast3r4 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yeah, like controller aim, everyone thinks they have the answers. No one really has the answers. In the end it's pure preference and whatever suits your skills the best. I remember years ago all videos claimed you HAD to have low sens on controller, fast was bad and horrible. Meanwhile I was doing great was maxed out sens. You had to have your ADS much slower than your hipfire aim. Now everyone tries to raise their ADS, I had ADS set as close to hipfire always, esp after I tried universal soldier aiming (aiming coefficient) in bf and after that I HATED that other games didn't have that option and my ads was slower in other games.
    Now I'm using mouse and keyboard on ps5. And everyone and their mother recommends at least 40 cm 360. One claims best to play on low DPI other claims 1600 dpi and higher is better because it's less input latency. Meanwhile I'm here 3200 dpi and like a 7 cm 360.
    It also depends on the game. In one game you need to track (apex/wz), in an other you need to twitch aim (cod mp) and in games like valorant you need to stand with your aim on head level near a corner waiting for the enemy so you can one shot them. Those are not the same, but if you play more than one of these it's also not a smart idea to have a dozen different speeds and settings for each game because you'll just end up being mid in all.
    For me fast speed is best, if you get good at it, if you get used to it (which will take skill and effort and for some people it will never feel right like super slow aim will never feel right to me) you can react faster than the enemy, you can turn and shoot back etc and it gives you an advantage. But on the otherhand the slightest mistake can cause you to over aim etc. Also, lets be real. Faster aim looks much better. Slow aim looks sluggish and boring

      @splaram  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's really easy to shit on controller players in apex and wz at any sens. Go into a decently-good Val lobby with that sens and you'll get completely rinsed. mkb only games on PC are a completely different beast than mkb on console shooters

Focusing more on your ability usage is a good start, being able to use them at least competently will net you Diamond at the very least no matter what your sens is. You'd be amazed how bad/stupid you can make opposing players look when you condition them effectively and play unpredictably.

      @@Torchie1455 my goal was always to be good at every style of aim, not just shooting at still/slow-moving targets like in Valorant. I believe that being a versatile aimer beats specializing in one or two aspects especially in Valorant, and Kovaaks is significantly better in that aspect than Aim Labs as it has much better tracking scenarios and also has so many more "good" scenarios for every aim type than Aim Labs imo
