    Nice one, thanks Mahesh.
    So, when we added the second us subnet, to be able to ping it from mumbai vpc, we had to create a new route to that cidr range in mumbai's vpc. But for the first subnet we didn't have to create routes manually because it was created automatically by VPN. The question is: when we add the route manually, is the VPN configuration updated automatically? If not, wouldn't it be better to do change the VPN config (rather than adding the rout manually) to have more consistency? It's a question around what is the good practice here.

    Hello Mahesh,
    Really like your GCP tutorials. Thanks a lot.
    One question I have with static routing, why have you used 2 different projects here?
    I was trying out this setup within the same project with two different VPCs,
    The VPN gateway and tunnel got created without any problems for the first VPC but while creating the VPN gateway+tunnel for the second VPC got some quota error. Any tips ?

    • @LearnGoogleCloudwithMahesh
      @LearnGoogleCloudwithMahesh  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That was the main reason why I used two projects. If we use one project in Free Tier will have quota issues

    Thanks for video, i have a question that how to verify the tunnel bandwidth,, the only information i found that we need to setup 1500 MTU in order to use upto 3 Gb bandwidth , but is there a way to check your actual tunnel bandwidth. thanks

    hi, I have exactly same configuration and tunels are established but ping is not working between VMs. (classic vpn) Do you have any idea why? I assume that maybe some routes are not configured correctly. VPN tunel is establishe and in logs I can see that packets are exchanged so definitely something is worng with routes or firewall.

    • @tomaszkozlak5547
      @tomaszkozlak5547 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      problem is solved! it turned out that when creating VPC network, ICMP protocl (used by ping) is not allowed by default. So I had to add firewall rule to allow icmp traffic.

    Hello Mahesh,
    I understood the video very well. But I have few questions.
    Use case - Connect Oracle database on Premises. So below are My questions
    Q1) On Premises we need to create VPN Gateway(Static IP Address) and VPN tunnel?
    Q2) IN GCP ,We need obtain static IP address and CIDR Range of On Premises?
    Q3) Could you please give some idea In Practical how we need to approach this?

    • @LearnGoogleCloudwithMahesh
      @LearnGoogleCloudwithMahesh  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      All steps are correct. Launch a VM in GCP with Oracle Client and connect to OnPrem Oracle DB's internal IP

    Mahesh Sir, Can we ping the instance private ip address from my pc or cmd?! Pls do reply

    • @LearnGoogleCloudwithMahesh
      @LearnGoogleCloudwithMahesh  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your PC is connected to a Corporate Network and there is a Cloud VPN or interconnect setup b/w this Corporate Network and GCP's VPC then GCE instance provisioned using this GCP VPC network can be pinged with Internal IP (RFC 1918)
