It's not a matter of abs in tvs apache as the rider was riding on the bad side of the road. Also abs cannot always save you. It can save you only in case of wet roads.

@@tonystark2681 I have been working in automobiles industry from past 7 years. ABS brakes are most effective on dry or wet roads. On snow or gravel, ABS might actually increase your braking distance and that' why the rider in apache collapse. In hilly areas like shimla people select single channel abs rather than dual channel ABS . Studies show that in dry or wet conditions, ABS ensures the most effective braking resulting in accident avoidance or a significant reduction in the severity of the accident. Sand or gravel under your tires, however, can act like tiny ball bearings. That means there is very little friction/traction between tires and the ground. The lack of friction on dirt can cause tires to lock up especially quickly. That may seem like the perfect application for ABS, but the problem is that you may find yourself rolling and rolling and rolling and rolling. That lack of friction means the ABS is ineffective at stopping you in a safe distance.
