Honestly I feel like it's all because of pressure and lack of understanding in this society...I was also a top student in my class scoring high marks since childhood but in SEE I only scored an A..I promised my parents that I would score A+ but when I didn't they still supported me I felt really dissapointed in myself but..seeing them still support me encouraged me to not commit self harm or go depressed...its about the environment you grow up in..the pressure from your parents and relatives gets to you and when you can't reach their expectations you feel useless
Teacher from himalayan region are teaching to the student of terai and madhesh And teachers from madhesh are teaching students in himalayan region. Its not only about quality of education but the language barrier is also the biggest problem in nepals education system. The idea of teaching in Nepal itself is flawed in Nepal. I have seen my batch-mates coming to school/colleges and just chill out without understanding the importance of each step they are walking and of course the rote learning forced by teachers is something else. These things really just push people to pursue education for the sake of it and nothing else. And let me be honest, Half of my batch-mates were not supposed to pass if it weren't for cheating in exam and yes in different parts of Nepal, soft cheating is allowed like peaking another person's solution and I don't want to keep on ranting about this but yes the ones who failed must have deserved to fail no matter what the marking conditions were. Its not like the people at that positions are dumb enough to put a very high bar just to pass the practicals. So, yeah I would say don't take the exams seriously but if you failed the exam, you totally deserve it and you have to change something there because the environment you are in, isn't going to change any time soon. We have to accept the face the surrounding we are in, is totally bad and not going to change. Adapt it, embrace it, get good education from internet, fucking MIT's courses are available on the internet and every little thing is there. If you can't change the system, first beat the system and get there and then change the system. Complaining is good, but I haven't seen a good chunk of people trying to bring a change with good set of skills(not ideologies). True, missed almost 2 months of college after i got seriously ill. Throughout college life i was either sleeping in class due to medication or absent due to illness. But still I didn’t let that get into my study. Once i was completely fine which around 4 months before board exam i buckled up i collected notes, reach out to teachers to help me get materials and every single day i stayed after college for extra hours to finish my chemistry, bio, and physics practical. Teachers were kind enough to let me join day groups for practical and thats how i completed all the practicals i missed. Then i took the notes and started watching videos lectures in yt they are literally all free and there is this channel where a guy has solved literally almost every single questions from class 12 basic mathematics, i used to study like madman and finally i scored 3.46 gpa in board exam with 4 months of study on my own. Literally in our generation with a finger tip we can find all the materials we need

I am sure they had their own struggles and I am not here to defame or anything but my point being if you want to end up in those positions you have to beat the system no matter what. Nepal's education is not good and can not excite you to any extent but here is a thing my friend education at good institutes can really excite you. I will speak from my personal experience, I did everything for the sake of it, I was good at studies and it came easy to me and never really cared, got good rank in JEE advance and joined IISc and trust me the kind of excitement I get here to pursue ideas and sit and study and figure out the proofs or programs which might solve them. So, I agree there is a inherent problem with our curriculum but what I am trying to say is no matter how much one complain, things are not changing anytime soon and you have to adapt this and make peace with it and get out of this maze to do something with your life. and common studying for both has its own benefits. If you can't study for an exam, you can't really get into that position at least in current socio-economic environment. If you want phD from good university, you have to have a good undergraduate degree and sorry to say my friend but getting into a good university requires you to study for some exams and anyone complaining they didn't learn anything from those exams is because they didn't use those ideas continuously on the other hand people like me in science use all those mundane and so called boring formulas in our research and work, those are the building blocks. All I am saying is, in the current socio-economic environment you have to study for both exams and for the sake of curiosity and again I would like to break it to you people generally pursuing these fields are good at both. I got 3.9 in SEE and failed in +science and after re exam i am geeting pass marks , i leve science faculty bec i am not interested so i joing BBA and now my study is good i got 3.48 in first sem and trying to get good marks in further Moral your SEE marks doesnt determine your further study .only your interest determined everything .❤
Agree with much of your commentary and yes it is absurd to implement a different grading system on right before the exam. But it merely highlighted the problem rather than being the problem. Practical marks up to SEE level is completely at the hands of the school, so more often than not, every student got an A+ in that regardless of how they performed. It used to cover up the poor performance in the written exam. There is absolutely no point in having practical grades in Compulsory Maths at SEE level, yet it was used as a grade inflation tool. Overall, I think the grading system implemented this year is a more accurate reflection of the student abilities, the way they went about it was wrong. But if they keep this grading system up, it will definitely force schools to better prepare the students to perform in the written assessments. With the previous system, a student could pass an exam after getting 15/75, which is 20% of their achievable score. अब त्यती थोरै marks ल्यएर पास भएको नभएको मा फरक के नै भयो र ? This year my little brother got 3 NGs. All he did throughout the year was scroll reels, tiktok and playing video games. He never cared to study even when we insisted. He was very careless and reckless. So I knew that was going to happen. Now, for the first time, after he got NG I saw him studying by the fear of failing again. But after the news broke out that any NG student can give re-exam, he went back to his old habits. Scrolling 24/7, playing video games and never studying. Now he says to me, "maile vaneko ta hu, pass garaihalxa". This surely was the worst decision made by nepali government. They didn't let these spoiled kids suffer a little for their greater good. The grading system is one good reason, but maybe, other factors like more strict exam centers, the rise of the internet, and people being more and more materialistic (which has probably made an impression on very young groups that it's all about making money, hence lacking motivation to study) have worsen the results. People now expect schools to make their teachings more entertaining rather than making sense. Also, they expect schools to make them a millionaire or something. The right path to knowledge is curiosity. There is a saying,'' Knowledge is not the learning of facts, but the training of mind to think''. Maybe, schools should be about producing intellectuals, so that we can have great minds in various fields, not only about paying one's bills or money-making. I also feel we should not worry about updating the curriculum much as we are covering the basics of various topics at the school level and the basics do not change very often. Feel really sorry for those who whine about the math and science formulae. They were shown the road to greatness. They did not take it just because did not find it entertaining. SLC was harder in terms of obtaining marks kinaki percentage ko aggregate is different than grading aggregate however due to constant change of grading system SEE le chai last dimag khancha.

One of girl try to suicide in my hometown turns out her family was pressuring her to marriage with twice her age now that she failed in 2 subjects Her one of kidney failed now 😢😢 even tho she survived. One of boy also suicide turns out his father took big loan was expecting that little guy to pay off after studying hard. He found all these stressful. The idea of teaching in Nepal itself is flawed in Nepal. I have seen my batch-mates coming to school/colleges and just chill out without understanding the importance of each step they are walking and of course the rote learning forced by teachers is something else. These things really just push people to pursue education for the sake of it and nothing else.
And let me be honest, Half of my batch-mates were not supposed to pass if it weren't for cheating in exam and yes in different parts of Nepal, soft cheating is allowed like peaking another person's solution and I don't want to keep on ranting about this but yes the ones who failed must have deserved to fail no matter what the marking conditions were. Its not like the people at that positions are dumb enough to put a very high bar just to pass the practicals. So, yeah I would say don't take the exams seriously but if you failed the exam, you totally deserve it and you have to change something there because the environment you are in, isn't going to change any time soon.
We have to accept the face the surrounding we are in, is totally bad and not going to change. Adapt it, embrace it, get good education from internet, fucking MIT's courses are available on the internet and every little thing is there. If you can't change the system, first beat the system and get there and then change the system. Complaining is good, but I haven't seen a good chunk of people trying to bring a change with good set of skills(not ideologies).
I am sure, many people's heart are right but sadly you aren't equipped with good skills and those things are learnable and put your focus into it instead of doing god knows what.
And I am sorry but padera manxey thulo vako xa, Nepal ma matrei ho hatti thulo huney. See any brilliant scientist, historians , these professions requires good education and sadly in nepal, we don't have enough scientists, researchers to look for.

True, missed almost 2 months of college after i got seriously ill. Throughout college life i was either sleeping in class due to medication or absent due to illness. But still I didn’t let that get into my study. Once i was completely fine which around 4 months before board exam i buckled up i collected notes, reach out to teachers to help me get materials and every single day i stayed after college for extra hours to finish my chemistry, bio, and physics practical. Teachers were kind enough to let me join day groups for practical and thats how i completed all the practicals i missed. Then i took the notes and started watching videos lectures in yt they are literally all free and there is this channel where a guy has solved literally almost every single questions from class 12 basic mathematics, i used to study like madman and finally i scored 3.46 gpa in board exam with 4 months of study on my own. Literally in our generation with a finger tip we can find all the materials we need

Its fascinating that you consider studying is boring and I guess I agree to this to some extent and I appreciate you gave the example of people like einstein and all but here is a thing you are no longer in those periods where you could do those things and think you would still end up being in those positions. I am sure they had their own struggles and I am not here to defame or anything but my point being if you want to end up in those positions you have to beat the system no matter what. Nepal's education is not good and can not excite you to any extent but here is a thing my friend education at good institutes can really excite you. I will speak from my personal experience, I did everything for the sake of it, I was good at studies and it came easy to me and never really cared, got good rank in JEE advance and joined IISc and trust me the kind of excitement I get here to pursue ideas and sit and study and figure out the proofs or programs which might solve them. So, I agree there is a inherent problem with our curriculum but what I am trying to say is no matter how much one complain, things are not changing anytime soon and you have to adapt this and make peace with it and get out of this maze to do something with your life.
and common studying for both has its own benefits. If you can't study for an exam, you can't really get into that position at least in current socio-economic environment. If you want phD from good university, you have to have a good undergraduate degree and sorry to say my friend but getting into a good university requires you to study for some exams and anyone complaining they didn't learn anything from those exams is because they didn't use those ideas continuously on the other hand people like me in science use all those mundane and so called boring formulas in our research and work, those are the building blocks.
All I am saying is, in the current socio-economic environment you have to study for both exams and for the sake of curiosity and again I would like to break it to you people generally pursuing these fields are good at both. Its just an image of selective bias created by losers in the ground that you have to do this and that. There are few boring things you have to do no matter what for the greater good

Agree with much of your commentary and yes it is absurd to implement a different grading system on right before the exam. But it merely highlighted the problem rather than being the problem. Practical marks up to SEE level is completely at the hands of the school, so more often than not, every student got an A+ in that regardless of how they performed. It used to cover up the poor performance in the written exam.
There is absolutely no point in having practical grades in Compulsory Maths at SEE level, yet it was used as a grade inflation tool. Overall, I think the grading system implemented this year is a more accurate reflection of the student abilities, the way they went about it was wrong.
But if they keep this grading system up, it will definitely force schools to better prepare the students to perform in the written assessments. With the previous system, a student could pass an exam after getting 15/75, which is 20% of their achievable score. अब त्यती थोरै marks ल्यएर पास भएको नभएको मा फरक के नै भयो र ? Student को standard त पहिला जस्तो थियो अझै त्यस्तो नै छ ।

This year my little brother got 3 NGs. All he did throughout the year was scroll reels, tiktok and playing video games. He never cared to study even when we insisted. He was very careless and reckless. So I knew that was going to happen.
Now, for the first time, after he got NG I saw him studying by the fear of failing again. But after the news broke out that any NG student can give re-exam, he went back to his old habits. Scrolling 24/7, playing video games and never studying. Now he says to me, "maile vaneko ta hu, pass garaihalxa". This surely was the worst decision made by nepali government. The grading system is one good reason, but maybe, other factors like more strict exam centers, the rise of the internet, and people being more and more materialistic (which has probably made an impression on very young groups that it's all about making money, hence lacking motivation to study) have worsen the results. People now expect schools to make their teachings more entertaining rather than making sense. Also, they expect schools to make them a millionaire or something. The right path to knowledge is curiosity. There is a saying,'' Knowledge is not the learning of facts, but the training of mind to think''. Maybe, schools should be about producing intellectuals, so that we can have great minds in various fields, not only about paying one's bills or money-making. I also feel we should not worry about updating the curriculum much as we are covering the basics of various topics at the school level and the basics do not change very often. Feel really sorry for those who whine about the math and science formulae. They were shown the road to greatness. They did not take it just because did not find it entertaining. So, it's about time we change the perspective on education and schooling not only by the government but also as a society, family, and individuals. Only then, do we start progressing.
