It's not a bad little car. The Dodge/Plymouth Neon first started production on November 10, 1993 as the 1995 model. The first generation lasted from November 1993 to August 1999. Then the second generation started in September 1999 and lasted until September 2005. On June 29, 2001, the last Plymouth version of the Neon rolled off the assembly line and was also the end of Plymouth. In 2003, the headlamps and grill was redesigned and lasted until the Dodge Neon ended production on September 23, 2005. The Dodge Neon was later replaced in 2006 for the 2007 Dodge Caliber.

Have one. Just the SX though. Not a bad little car, rides well for what it is. My only real complaint is the lack of balance in the engine. It's vibrates while sitting at a light. Apparently because it was such a cheap car, Chrysler/Dodge never bothered to spend a little extra for a well balanced 4 cylinder.

Its ur motor mounts I would say going bad ive got N 05 sxt and it vibrates and now the transmisson is slipping like shit its only got 154k and it needs a nee wheel bearing

Funny Story About My 05 Special Edition😂Bought mine because it was only $500 so couldn’t pass it up! I Own a 18 Ford Fusion Platinum, 16 Explorer Sport & 09 BMW 535i.. The Neon(Deon) Is The Only One That Hasn’t Been In Shop!🤦🏽‍♂️😂.. So I decided to fix her up & Now It’s basically an Automatic R/T(PT Cruiser 2.4 Swap, Dual Exhaust, SRT4 Rear Bumper, Rubber Molding Around Doors, Diffuser, Lip Spoiler, Red Metallic with Black Wrapped Roof, Chrysler Neon Euro Front End With Functional Scoop, Projector Head & Taillights, Fogs All LED, 15 Dodge Dart GT Steering Wheel & Wheels, 20% Tint, K&N, Rear Discs, Red Calipers, KSport Kontrol Pro Coilovers, Front & Rear Stabilizer Bars, Apple Car Play Tesla Screen, PT Cruisers Front Leather & Reupholstered Back seats.. Subtle R/T Badges.. I Think that’s it but My Point Was I Didn’t Expect To Love That Car Like I Do! Only Tuned To 207 tho until I actually swap a manual and LSD.

I now have about 103,000 miles on it and the damn head gasket blew. So, I had the head fixed, new timing belt, water pump, and radiator replaced. Anyways, a month later all of the sudden there was a loud ticking sound from the engine (a valve), took back to the mechanic and had the head sent out again and replaced 1 valve. The cars been running fine now but I still worry about her because my mechanic really believes it's a piston ring but I, and my new mechanic, believe that's probably not true because everybody knows the odds of a problem within the block are slim to none before any head goes out on most cars. Well, I can't get rid of her now I'll never get back the money I put in it. Enjoy your neons.

Nah, as long as you replace timing belt and water pump at 100K and keep up on maintenance it'll keep on going. In fact the Neon in this video just had all that done.

even with an automatic it's more than enough power for a first car. Especially if you live in europe you will outrun 99% of the diesels.

That has nothing to do with it lasting long. Do you often go five feet in the air in your car? Does anyone do that? Most people definitely don't even drift or go five feet in the air when driving.
