I've read this how to day trade but in this he has Mentioned 9 ema every where and for the sake of mentioning he mentions 20ema 50,200 sma too. So I'd like to know is 9ema with vwap on a 5 minute frame not reliable... N do you not believe in not entering a trade when price is moving side ways near to vwap?? Thanks.. Hi, I really liked this simple stretegy. If mvwap < vwap - sell and vice versa... Why do u use 50 ema of vwap on 5 min charts? There r 75 candles in a trading day, i think we shud use 75 mvwap to find the yesterday's vwap trend... If the stock is in uptrend on daily time frame, and we get a day of sell setup, we cud avoid trading following the rules of htf trend trading. What do u say abt this idea? Also, I use Rsi 14 momentum indicator with 55/45 as strength/ weakness regions alongwith ADX for trend strength

Hi Friend, I tried this approach today with minimal amount. It went well. I am a beginner and I tried various strategies. But this is easy to understand and follow. 1) MVWAP and EMA 50 is different. 2) Prefer 5 min or higher time frame. 3) Watch earlier part on VWAP to understand how it is constructed. Thanks Vipul

Have a few queries.... 1) Regarding stock selection for intraday: a) one should be selecting high beta sector and high beta stocks within those sector(s). What should be the beta calculation duration. One year or less than that? b) Beta of stock/sector published on sites like NSE, ET etc. are refreshed every month. In that case is it ok to consider beta, calculated by end of prev month, for current month stock selection? c) Volume candle - I still get confused as to which candle is considered as wide. Is there any range of volume which can be considered as wide d) If stock(s) is selected as per the method mentioned by you, can we also trade their underlying F&O? 2) For this strategy can we add vol prof or mkt prof? Which one do you think is more effective out of the 2
Thanks Sameer 1) For Beta calculation refer to 252 days. 1 Year trading activity. 2) Yes it is completed fine to do this for Beta. 3) Its more of a visual approach. Candle needs to pop out off the chart. I would advise against setting a pre-defined range. 4) Yes F&O can be traded. I advise against it as some experience is needed before one can trade futures. 5) You can certainly add Volume Profile or Market Profile. But, it would add one more variable towards decision making. Would advise you to keep it as simple as possible. Hope this helps.
A word of appreciation to start with. I am a science student and a beginner to market. I have been watching your videos from past few weeks. Exceptional!! explained the content in such a way a novice like me was able to apply and practice on paper to get good results. Will complete all the series. A specific questin on ttading view. When you apply moving averages, the length is default at 9 and it can be changed to 50 as well. I applied this concept for Infratel paper trade today. It worked perfectly well when using 9 period instead of 50. Both for uptrend and downtrend. 50 period worked for uptrend only.Could you explain why is it so?

I hope i have said it right ? So in a nutshell for 5 or 10 minutes it is 50 moving average and for 15 minutes it is 40 EMA.

My question is: I need to check resistance area breakout for how many prior days? 2 days or more days?? For example: I am about to initiate a long trade on Friday morning session. If current price has crossed the near term resistance of Wednesday & Thursday. And current price is still below the Monday & Tuesday resistance zone. Thanks Manish 1. No its not the same. 2. Depending on how it is calculated, most often VWMA gives more weight to recent volume. MVWAP On the other hand is very different. Hope this helps.
Again a very good video, but I have a question. I think MVWAP for 50 periods suppresses opportunities; either we miss good entries or it delays profitable exits. 20 period MVWAP kind of balances- it reduces the noise and at the same time provides opportunities. What is your view. ( I see that you have replied to a similar question viz you prefer 50 period MVWAP, but I thought I will share the apprehension and get your perspective.) Thanks for your comment. Parameters are selected after detailed backtest. 50 EMA of VWAP Works best across all asset classes. Idea here is to not catch all moves in market. But one's with higher odds of success.

I tried VWAP and MVWAP ( 50 periods, EXP type) on intraday 5 min charts. but VWAP remains below moving VWAP but both positive slop and decent volume action and price in upward motion i.e higher high etc. so I am confused, I thought for upward momentum VWAP should be above MWAP.. please let me know what wrong I am doing with my setup. eg. stock is CHEF , 15th may, 2020. Sameer bhai i m not getting input for moving avg at vwap , only getting open high low close, hl2,hlc3 and ohlc4 option in zerodha. asked zerodha about this but they say this feature is not there in zerodha tradeview, Kindly help

Hi, I have identified that cross-over of VWAP and MVAP is giving a good entry and exit of a trade. Whene ever VWAP crosses MVWAP(up/down) and until next cross-over, the trend is continued, your comments and suggestions pls.
Yes it will work for crossover as well. Do backtest thoroughly.

1) MVWAP and EMA 50 is different.
2) Prefer 5 min or higher time frame.
3) Watch earlier part on VWAP to understand how it is constructed.

2) Use S&R levels to scale in and out in day trading.

Thanks for another simple video! Started using it. Yet to get a grip on it though. Have a few queries....
1) Regarding stock selection for intraday:
a) one should be selecting high beta sector and high beta stocks within those sector(s). What should be the beta calculation duration. One year or less than that?
b) Beta of stock/sector published on sites like NSE, ET etc. are refreshed every month. In that case is it ok to consider beta, calculated by end of prev month, for current month stock selection?
c) Volume candle - I still get confused as to which candle is considered as wide. Is there any range of volume which can be considered as wide
d) If stock(s) is selected as per the method mentioned by you, can we also trade their underlying F&O?
2) For this strategy can we add vol prof or mkt prof? Which one do you think is more effective out of the 2

1) For Beta calculation refer to 252 days. 1 Year trading activity.
2) Yes it is completed fine to do this for Beta.
3) Its more of a visual approach. Candle needs to pop out off the chart. I would advise against setting a pre-defined range.
4) Yes F&O can be traded. I advise against it as some experience is needed before one can trade futures.
5) You can certainly add Volume Profile or Market Profile. But, it would add one more variable towards decision making. Would advise you to keep it as simple as possible.

A word of appreciation to start with. I am a science student and a beginner to market. I have been watching your videos from past few weeks. Exceptional!! explained the content in such a way a novice like me was able to apply and practice on paper to get good results. Will complete all the series. A specific questin on ttading view. When you apply moving averages, the length is default at 9 and it can be changed to 50 as well. I applied this concept for Infratel paper trade today. It worked perfectly well when using 9 period instead of 50. Both for uptrend and downtrend. 50 period worked for uptrend only.Could you explain why is it so?

I hope i have said it right ? So in a nutshell for 5 or 10 minutes it is 50 moving average and for 15 minutes it is 40 EMA.

Just a recap: For Long trade: VWAP> 50 MVWAP + strong wide candle, good volume + break the near term resistance.
My question is: I need to check resistance area breakout for how many prior days? 2 days or more days??
For example: I am about to initiate a long trade on Friday morning session. If current price has crossed the near term resistance of Wednesday & Thursday. And current price is still below the Monday & Tuesday resistance zone.
Can I initiate the trade or I need to wait for price to cross above the Monday & Tuesday resistance zone?

1. No its not the same.
2. Depending on how it is calculated, most often VWMA gives more weight to recent volume. MVWAP On the other hand is very different.

Again a very good video, but I have a question. I think MVWAP for 50 periods suppresses opportunities; either we miss good entries or it delays profitable exits. 20 period MVWAP kind of balances- it reduces the noise and at the same time provides opportunities. What is your view. ( I see that you have replied to a similar question viz you prefer 50 period MVWAP, but I thought I will share the apprehension and get your perspective.) Idea here is to not catch all moves in market. But one's with higher odds of success.

I tried VWAP and MVWAP ( 50 periods, EXP type) on intraday 5 min charts. but VWAP remains below moving VWAP but both positive slop and decent volume action and price in upward motion i.e higher high etc. so I am confused, I thought for upward momentum VWAP should be above MWAP.. please let me know what wrong I am doing with my setup. eg. stock is CHEF , 15th may, 2020.
