- I recently rewatched Sherlock and now I have the perfect excuse to use this song again.

intoxicating. brilliant. the pacing is excellent. the occasional effects bring it out nicely. the structure works so well. encapsulates their love for each other so much. the slow motion at the climax of the song was perfect. you are so skilled 💗

10 seconds in and I can't help but grin so extra wide just thanks to that first voiceover, "You're unattached, just like me" and the way John says the just like me, so soft and... ah there was always so much emotion conveyed in the acting from these two. Your coloring choice is so unique for this fandom and works so beautifully.
But as I keep watching... Gosh, SO SO many undervidded moments & voiceovers, creative lyric matches, the stairs scenes, "sky burns red" and you're using red transitions is interesting to me... that "human" parallels, 3 in a row... and then the way you kept interweaving causal, even cute/fun moments between them and paralleling it with the depths of pain they go through... the juxtaposition that's what makes all your vidding such an artistic mesmerizing thing! And just the meaningfulness of things like Sherlock saying, "I know" at 2:30 about how well he knows John... most vidders don't highlight these things the way you do and I'm completely here for it!! Same thing a few seconds later at 2:37 with the way John catches Sherlock off guard with the "You could" and he actually has that little sad laugh... You are ripping my heart out with these choices, is all I'm trying to say lol. And it matches the "I am aching now to let you in" lyric pretty darn well too of course.
The way your editing builds alongside the intensity of the song and you found so many moments in the wind and bullets and yelling and stuff for that latter third ish of the song was SO well done. Love the use of black and white at times too!
And you vidded two of my favorite moments too, Sherlock yelling back at Mycroft that John is indeed his family and John's little tiny smile at that, as well as 4:07's "he's my friend" as poor John goes towards Sherlock's body through the crowd... also sidenote oversharing personal note, after my uncle jumped to his death in the museum, the crowd of people watching from afar were being held back by security sorta, although not many people were trying to get that close anyway... they knew they couldn't. But my dad and I were running towards my aunt & cousin already down there, running towards my uncle and able to break through because we were family, we were visiting the museum with him, it's actually a very similar thing I kinda went through in real life myself.
3:55 to 3:58 with those 4 moments in a row of their arms and hands touching, so creative to zoom in on just that even without their faces... wow it's just so.
This really makes me want to rewatch, even though yes I already did want to... but especially because a few of the moments I'm just so unsure where they came from, like the "So who loves you? I'm assuming it's not a long list"... is that from the final arc with his sister? I want to be able to place where things came from!
The hat stuff was a pretty cute way to end it but I'm glad that was more second-to-last and you ended it with something slightly more... idk meaningful between them
Thank you SO much! You're just amazing. I really wanted to fit everything about them in here. There were so many jokes on the show but there wasn't really a place for them lol, so it was actually quite the effort to find and stick to the more serious stuff. I'm still amazed by the pool scene at the end of season 1 where the mood of the scene switches so drastically when John becomes involved. It's just so good. And the pushing through the crowd did feel quite realistic... The way you describe it sounds similar.
I highly recommend vidding the song. So many parts just vid themselves:D
"it's not a long list" is from the final arc with his sister yes. I heard it being used in another video and once I got to that episode it stuck with me.
