  • www.truthforlife.org || By: Alistair Begg - (Ephesians 1:15-20) In the first part of Ephesians Chapter 1, Paul reminds his readers of the benefits that are ours in Christ Jesus. With that encouragement in mind, the Apostle turns to prayer - not for their health or wellbeing, but that they would know the power of God. Alistair Begg reminds us that God demonstrated His power toward us in the work of Christ on our behalf. He is our risen, exalted, and reigning King. We can come to Him with the assurance that He cares for His own, and we can make disciples in the confidence that Jesus is all that He claims to be.

Thank you, dear brother, for your faithfulness to our great God and Father and to His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the leading and empowering of His Holy Spirit, which is evident in your preaching of sin and death, dealt with, in grace and mercy and love and power, by our Father, through His Son's death and resurrection and ascension by the power of His Spirit. God leads me to the heights of worship through your preaching and teaching of His marvelous and life-saving and sustaining Word. Father, I am grateful for your son and servant, Alistair Begg. Continue, in your mercy, to grant to him the grace he needs to lead the congregation with which you have entrusted him and to preach your Word, which will never return to you void because you inhabit it and by it you save us and grow us into the likeness of Christ, in whose name I pray, Amen.
