The reason it's important to showcase (and make a big deal out of) these drinking and drug incidents with celebrities is to try to hit home to them that there is absolutely NO reason they should be drinking and driving, being under the influence of substances and driving because they have all the means in the world to get an Uber, call an assistant, etc. to drive them to their destination WITHOUT having to drive themselves. And by driving themselves, they are risking the lives of everyone they pass on the road along the way. Celebrities who drink and drive should be thrown under the jail in my opinion, as well as receive the toughest legal consequences for their actions. Media should cover the hell out of it to hopefully embarrass the celebrity to the point of hopefully getting through their thick, ENTITLED, heads that they cannot ever drive under the influence!! If the world's most entitled people don't have the decency or sense to NOT drive under the influence, what does that say to the young people who are watching them and idolizing them? If NY DMV has a similar policy to CA, breathalyzer refusal/failure is an automatic 12 month DL suspension. That's before any possible conviction. Sure he can pay for it, but it will be on his record for ten years.
