I used a translation application, so I apologize if the sentences were wrong.

      Q:What triggered the artist activity?
A:About three years after my debut as a voice actor, I was called to the office by a chief manager who usually doesn't call me often. I thought I made a mistake, so I went to the office nervously. In a conference room or something, I was told, "Would you like to try doing some artist work?".
I was very surprised at first, because when I first became a voice actor, I didn't think I was going to be an artist someday, nor did I plan to be an artist, so I was approached by a music company called Pony Canyon. I felt it was a new challenge for me, that the world was expanding and interesting, and I readily accepted the invitation.

Q:What kind of music did you listen to before?
A:I've listened to rock, R & B, foreign music, and a variety of other music. I really liked a female solo artist, Aya Matsuura, the first female solo artist I bought. I listened so many times that her album was worn out. I also listened to songs like BoA and Hikaru Utada. I loved playing games, so music was so close I could listen to those songs as background music for playing games.

Q:what was the direction of music when you first started working as an artist?
A:At first, I didn't know what to do. After talking a lot and picking out my favorite music, I was first able to get a writer named Ryuta Iida to write some music and head off to rock. From the early days of my career, I often talked to my music producer, Akihiro Tomita, about my favorite music.
At that time, I often sang image song, so I couldn't make up my mind about the difference between how I sang image song and how I sang. I hadn't found my individuality yet. So, I made use of my career as a voice actor to create myself as an artist.

Q : How have you changed your mind since then?
A:It's been fun. When my first album came out, I was able to do a "one man live" for the first time. It took me so much time. Until the first live concert, I didn't feel much of a "musical activity". I didn't know what I was singing, so I was active. I had a good feeling, but I had no idea what to say.
But when I did my first live show, I felt that I like this.
Farst Live performed in the same order as the first album "PENKI" did. After the performance, I felt lonely and thought, "I still want to be on this stage!" and then my mind turned positive.
Now, I've met the stage team, the band members, the dancer team and a lot of other people, and the world has expanded. These things have become important to me, something I have to do. This time is irreplaceable.
      5:44
Q:What is the attraction of the live performance?
A:I can't have many live performances a year because of the activities of voice actors. I could only have one man live performances one or two times in one years, so I realized that the moment was momentary. But I suited my character to work hard for a performance that would end in that moment.
It's hard to express, but I felt "Work, not work". I met all the fans I hadn't seen for a long time, and I felt I was singing to them. I liked the time when I communicated with all my fans.
Now, there are only one or two live performances in one year, but now that I know if that moment is so important, it's really fulfilling. I feel that both voice actors and music are so important. I feel that when I have something important, I'm dealing with each and every one of them sincerely.
      7:04
Q:What if you look back at the past and talk to yourself at that time?
A:I'd like to say, "Don't be afraid, go ahead." I used to feel insecure about music. I didn't know what to do, so I ended up with a word that I didn't have confidence in myself. One of them is this story. I said, "This is an enemy land" at a live concert hall. It happened at a very large hall.
There were a lot of my fans in the hall, but I couldn't tell how many of my customers were because of the anxiety and nervousness, and I thought, "There are only about one hundred of my fans here." It was because of tension and fear. I was afraid of all the other artists and fans I was with, even though they were supposed to be in the same group.
But now I feel that I don't have to think that way. So if I talk to my old self now, I want him to say, "Be confident.".
