I would love to see these setups in the bujo setup videos! I always love seeing how you decorate your pages and how the decorations can sometimes make the same page/spread layout feel different. Also if you keep the decoration more minimal in the cashflow journal it would be nice to see for people who either can't or don't want to put lots of decorative stuff in their journal. And it might inspire someone to start tracking their own cashflow situation but hasn't seen your older setups.
Love the coy fish with the cover. When I set my monthly budget I separate the spending categories in separate columns instead of having a long list of spending. I have my monthly payments in one section and separate sections for gasoline/petrol, groceries, medical, eating out and shopping. It makes it easier to calculate at the end of the month.
I've always had trouble budgeting... this setup makes sense for me and is super simple and quick! Love it. Also, I'm a HUGE fan of the travelers size anything this year lol
Ironing a patch on the cover should be fine so long as you keep the heat away from the spine. It might also be a good idea to apply weight on the journal afterwards (such as piling heavy books on top of it) for the duration it takes for the journal to fully cool down. That way nothing drastic should happen to it.
I have the same traveller’s journal and I did not know what to do with it. I do like the idea of having a separate finance journal even if I don’t have your problem of « blurring » for filming purposes. And a mid-year recap is a good way to have a better overview. Thanks for the video.
I use excel for my finances but I like the idea of the categories and tracking through the year. I could totally do that on the spreadshit so thanks for the inspiration. And your notebook is so cute and functional I love it. Also I would love to see your recap’
Hi Erin, I like the koi patches. As a life long seamstress, I would glue them. If your iron is hot enough to activate the patch's glue, it might ruin the journal.
I JUST found your channel, from the USA, love listening to your voice, soothing, and OH MY LANTA, YOUR LAYOUTS ARE STUNNING…. LOVE THE SIMPLICITY AND BEAUTY… thank you for sharing…
The two koi fish would be a pretty design -- and it also really works well in terms of metaphor for finances: Koi symbolize wealth (as far as I know) and the way those two flow together, they are reminiscent of the yin-yang symbol meaning balance.
This has given me a lot of ideas of things to track in my finances journal. I'm not going to work about decorating it unless I really feel like it, though, and even then I think I'll go back to the way I used to decorate my journals-- functional first
Yes please to seeing the setups in the bujo videos, it's an idea how to use your main theme in a minimal way if that makes sense. I think you should be ok to iron a patch on the cover as long as you're careful. Missed seeing Mitsu in this video :)
This is so helpful. I’d love to see the end of year wrap up if you would like to share. I currently use excel for my finances but i really like the way this seems to make you more mindful about your spending; so I am now off out to find a suitably sized journal! Thank you for the inspiration
Just watching this video for the second time to get some ideas for my personal finance tracker I want to start for the second half of 2024 :) This was quite helpful! Thank you for sharing your journal with us 💕
Thanks for sharing! I actually do my actual expense tracking in Notion so I don't have to do all the calculations lmao. BUT I plan to use a TN BuJo to state my financial goals and to give a snapshot of the month with visuals. I'll have the final totals for all the categories, subcategories and a pie chart to show the percentages of my spending. I can also see what stores/entities a majority of my money went to
Hi Erin, you can definitely at the koi to the cover. I noticed in one of your videos that you have a cricut. If you have a mini press you can use that. Or an iron. I've seen it done on youtube with notebooks. Just use like baking paper over the top of the koi stickers, to protect the stickers and the notebook, but keep the heat low and monitor it. I went to Daiso today like you suggested and bought some lovely origami paper and washi tape. I'm too nervous to write in my new Archer and Olive Journal though. My handwriting is terrible since I've been sick and I don't want to ruin it. How do I get over the initial starting of a journal. I'm going to use stamps for months and try and hide my handwriting by decorating too. Ahhh ... I don't know where to start. Your Journal is so lovely, I just want mine to look the same. Thanks for all your tips, I also got some washi tape and stickers from kmart. Juliet from Brissy. I would also love to have photos taken of my family when I am better Erin, do you do portrait photography as well?
I'd love to see the monthly setup for the spending journal in the bujo setup! I love your spending tracker and use it for myself since the beginning of this year :D
Hi Erin, I hate to be that person but *please* if you want to keep information truly private from the internet, physically block it or black it out digitally rather than blurring it - blurring may look better on camera but if someone had ill intent they can quite easily un-blur the image to extract information.
It’s true the dollar amounts and what the items were probably wouldn’t help a scammer much - it’s also stalkery types I’m worried about though, they’d be able to work out places I frequent pretty easily. It’s likely a bit paranoid but better to be safe, right? 😬
@@nafriddle9658 Exactly what Erin said above - working out her movement patterns is more of a risk than the quantities - e.g. if someone wanted to do her harm, knew her city and saw that she spent on groceries every other tuesday at x brand of store, they could very easily stalk each location of x until they found her. Most people wouldn't do it, wouldn't even *think* to do it, but the danger is there, especially (though not only) for women online.
i've never used a patch on my linen journal from archer and olive. HOWEVER, i have used vinyl stickers on one before. It wasn't an everyday use journal (i used it on my reading journal), but they worked/are working out pretty well for me.
I like having the computer do my math :P. i used to write down everything I bought so I could judge it later. was I happy I bought those shoes or did they turn out to be a waste
Yep, just ‘travellers’ - A&O have a section for them on their website (which is linked in the description). I haven’t seen many other brands offer them with 160GSM paper like the A&O journals but I think there are some out there, you may need to do some hunting! 🥰
Just stumbled across your channel and this video. You're extremely creative. Did you do a calligraphy course? I am from Sydney Australia. How long does it take you to set up each month? Do you track your expenses weekly or monthly?

Love the way you have laid this out. It seems very simple and easy to use

Thank you, this sounds like wonderful advice! 🥰
I like the camper, but for a financial journal I love the coy idea. Manifesting wealth.

I would love to see this set up with the regular bujo and definitely would love to see the wrap up. Such a great idea! Thanks!

It’s such a handy tool, especially when it comes to being ready for bigger bills that roll around annually!
I love how colourful everything in your journal is 🥰
I have recently taken to start keeping a financial journal and it’s been so helpful

I love the patches. I wonder if fabric glue would work better than heat.
I hadn’t thought of that! Definitely sounds safer than heat 😅

I absolutely adore your handwriting.

Oooh I’ve been waiting for this video!!
The koi fish patches look great.

I’m so glad you like my lil spending tracker Yasmin! 🥰
this was a great video it inspired me to start a journal for tracking my finances!
yes! add the koi!
What's wrong with the camper van! 😅 I love that lil design.
He’s just not meeeeeee 🤣
i like the koi being on there
Please add cash flow set up to monthly. I really enjoyed it.
Thanks for sharing .

What are they earn by doing that tho? How much she spends on a month? Its not credit card information it won t effect her life.
Thank you for sharing that. I didn't know that was possible.
I wasn’t aware of this! Thank you for caring about my digital safety ❤️

To help with having to re-write your categories every month maybe number code them instead of writing the whole title.
That’s an idea! 💡

Definitely wise to stop if it’s a negative spiral!
I love this idea! I think I might just do it! Is that size just called travelers? Or is there an official size?

Would be better to see fake numbers rather then blurring
This is my real journal, that I actually use 😅 so I’m not going to fill it out with fake numbers because then I’ll ruin my data
