I love how at a glance the Fantastic Four, in terms of origin, appear to be the same sort of an instance as to what you might expect if the Phoenix had been split up amongst the four. I have always felt that the team was like a lesser version of the Phoenix force in Jean. Also, Dazzler has been my favorite since they put her in the arcade game when I was a kid. 🥰

I love these top 10 lists. You have to acknowledge that it is hard coming up with an original origin story, so we are going to be seeing some interesting one. It is interesting the ones here that involve some odd isolation or captivation at a young age thing. Some of these you would expect to become villains vice heros.

From my understanding, Night Crawler dating a foster sister is not illegal. They're not blood relatives. So, it is legal to do so.

On the subject of Hellboy and your argument of his recruitment, to quote Van Helsing evil may have created it evil may have left his mark on it but evil does not ROLL it.
I think it's odd that you did not mention Rogue's connection to Ms. Marvel actually absorbing her completely and permanently gaining some of her powers. Leaving Ms. Marvel with amnesia, taking a long time until she regained her memory.

In your Magik breakdown, you forgot to mention that after Illyana was abducted at some point a 7-year-old version of her was rescued and brought home. Later the child contracted the Legacy Virus and died. Then through some mystical shenanigans, her soul reconstituted itself in Limbo in the form of her alter ego Darkchilde. After a while, the original Illyanna asserted control and was able to return to her original form at her proper age.
I'd never heard of Magik before watching the Midnight Sons game movie.
I had that comic. Thats when colossus went nuts n left the xmen. Ended up joining magneto. Fiirst. Comic when he joined magneto, he had just totally messed up omega red

During the "Evolutionary War" Annuals Spider-Woman's origin was further retconned/altered to include the High Evolutionary and make a few other changes. She was living with her parents and Herbert Edgar Wyndham (the High Evolutionary in the comics before he put on the armor) on Mount Wundagore. She was playing with another child, Philip Masters (later the Puppet Master) when she collapsed from radiation poisoning. To cure her, her father administered the serum he had developed from spiders, but it needed to incubate before it would be effective. The High Evolutionary put her in suspended animation and used his machines to artificially incubate the serum within her blood. Her mother accused her father of making her one of his experiments, ran off, and was killed by a werewolf which turned out to be a Baron Russoff, Jack Russel's (Werewolf By Night) ancestor. Her father fled Wundagore as he was grieving his wife and distraught over his daughter who would be in suspended animation for years. She woke up decades later, but was only physically 17 years old due to decelerated aging while in suspended animation. She left Wundagore and then the Hydra stuff happened. But I'm sure It was at least partially a "false memory" or maybe the High Evolutionary implanted fake memories.

Shatterstar was the first action figure I ever got and served to provision the origin story for a series of novels I would later author based on the stories I made up playing with action figures. The character is named Floyd and becomes the catalyst event for the entire universe by committing to an act of paradox in an attempt to erase himself upon learning that his world is a fictional novel. 😅

You want an idea? Top 10 awesome single scenes that represented the hero. My nominee is from Superman comics, #295 IIRC -- it has Clark at home getting ready to go to work. He is standing there in his boxers with his shirt on, pants in his hands. He jumps into them. One scene, the awesomeness that is Superman: He's not "just like us. He does NOT put his pants on one leg at a time." Beautiful.
I grew up in the 70's, and I have never heard of spider woman until 2020 when all this hype started. The only women I heard of and grew up with and loved to watch as a child was Wonder Woman who was an amazon woman from the amazons. As it was back in the 70, we were always bombarded with American comic strip style cartoons and merry melodies. so, you can imagine that there were actually not many comics that had women in them as any kind of superhero till 2020 even though the internet will tell you different.

The Hellboy origin, I assumed that it was a part of his superpowers that people would like and want to help him despite his demonic appearence.

In your breakdown of Puck from Alpha Flight, you failed to mention that Razer was an evil wizard who perpetuated himself by magically absorbing the life energy of humans to stay young and virile. This was represented as him stealing actual height from his victims. He was imprisoned in the sword, which was White at the time, but over the centuries he was able to corrupt his prison and turn it black. It sat in a vault waiting for someone to touch it and release him. When the wraith Razer was released accidently by Puck, he used the blade to steal some of Puck's lifeforce, causing Puck to become shorter. It was then that Puck realized that in order to contain Razer a new prison was needed; a living prison that could resist corruption. It was Puck's sacrifice (loss of height) that contained Razer for decades until he was released by an enchanted well opened by Loki.
I prefer Jessica Drew's origin in the Ultimate Universe comics. She's Peter Parker's clone, created by Dr. Octopus.

The funny thing about Dazzler is that her character was originally created during the disco era as a collaboration of sorts between Marvel Comics and Casablanca Records.

Indeed. That was during the "big acts" era where they also created "The Village People". Marvel saw this as their answer to Archie comics. "Sugar... Oh honey honey... You are my candy girl".
But it gets even worse! Buoyed by the heady fumes of failure, Marvel and the producers of the daytime soap opera "The Guiding Light" reworked Dazzler into a live-action character in the soap opera, where she became known as... "Guiding Light". Instead of Allison Blaire Witch, the character's secret identity was Harley Cooper, a long-established, very popular character in the soap opera. In that version, she simply was trying to operate a machine after soda spilled on her hands, got electrocuted, blacked out the fictitious city of "Springfield, Illinois," and she awoke with powers. And a streak in her hair, ala Rogue.

It's funny that the video is called superhero origins but halfway through it became the origin stories of villains.
As to Howard The Duck, despite being a blatant satire/parody of Donald Duck, and thus protected usage, Marvel got sued over him by Disney. One aspect of the consent decree was that he had to always wear pants (Donald never does).
