14:39 great information! I have tons of conch shells from those grey clay layers of earth! I’ve gotten my little nephew into fossil hunting just by taking him on fossil hunts along the roadside ditches! It’s so cool to see the excitement kids get from finding something so old they can’t even comprehend yet, but they know it’s special

Like how you backed up after the quick splash you made on the edge of the limestone. There are gators out there but usually avoid people. But a splash like that on the edge of deeper murky water is a signal that food may be struggling. I know you know that. Seemed like that crossed your mind as you did it.

    • @PaleoCris

You’re exactly right. The biggest alligator I’ve ever seen lives right near here. It’s tracks on the banks were way larger than my hand. I’m not messing around too much near that water here.

Nice fossil finding trip. I live in Northern Kentucky and any place the dirt has been removed or washed away you can find Brachiopods and all kinds of other fossils laying everywhere. There’s a place near Maysville where you find Trilobites larger than your hand. It’s crazy. The whole state is on limestone which is responsible for the bluegrass in the greater Lexington area where racehorses are bred and the water that is used for the bourbon industry. I noticed you went to Michigan and found Petiskeys. I’ve been there too. Be safe and keep posting for us fossil nerds. 👍☮️🌞🌟🦴❤️

      Thanks to you both!
      Great video
There is a nice spot here where I live in Sarasota, Florida
Look up fossil sites in Florida and there is a really nice location chart of what you can find and exact location, one nice spot Im investigating Saturday is a place right off the freeway (I-75) where a construction company dumps their diggings
My fav spots are in Ohio
Two nice dry riverbeds where small marine fossils
(Nice Crinoids, brachiopods and ai found a Sweet tiny rolled Flexycalimine trilobite) great for kids
Many tiny fossils are scattered around for the picking, no digging needed and you can keep what you find
