You do realize that even with Humans being a creation of both light and dark (Image of gods), they lived in harmony and conflict only arises in crises against Grimm infestation... That was until Salem incited them to rebel and fell to her lies?
The only way for the problem to be solved is for Salem to be destroyed...
It's like common trope now, the big bad Maou defeated by the Yuusha in various fantasy setting. Or like how G-d will soon deal of S-t-n eventually and Humanity will be restored to its former glory.
And common mistake that Humans like you and I make is: We Humanize Gods even though they exist higher and outside of our limitation. Gods can intervene when needed, be our friends or therapist or parents... But we are nothing but lower life forms than them. Have you not read so many Greek tragedies already? Human hubris, arrogance, pride, greed, hatred, etc... These things caused humanity's downfall. Gods are the Rule-makers, humanity are the players, it is unfair to Salem's standard but not the Brothers' standard... Life and death are equally freely given to rich, poor, male and female alike. Everyone's days are numbered, whether short or long. The rules are simple, appreciate what you have (gratitude is a blessing), do not demand in greed (especially if you can't handle it, like Bruce Almighty), work hard but remember your beginnings, don't complain (stoicism - complaining solves nothing), socialize (it makes you feel less lonely) and connect but detach when there's too much (it's toxic to have obsessions) and Memento Mori (remember you are mortal, YOLO) or if you're Christian or Buddhist, golden rule... Do to others what you want others do to you, Love not lust, be humble in all things.
The world is unfair and unjust? Well that's because every player is a cheater.

@@lightlord356 There is no glyph there though? I think that the God of Light can bend any of its creation to its will. Like if he wants to slap someone's face from a million miles, he could still hit that person by bending the laws of physics to his liking. Magic is just one of the Brother Gods' creations.

Why would anyone wanna save someone like her? She literally caused the death of humanity and didn't bat an eyelid, if she did then because she didn't have an army, killed countless of people on her own and with the Grimm. Salem doesn't give a shit about anyone, but herself, probably never will. She was redeemable at first, even if the god's methods were kinda trash. They did tell her exactly what she was doing wrong before. After they denied her request to bring Ozma back all she wanted was revenge, but it was for herself, when she became immortal, not Ozma. That alone proves what kind of person she was becoming deep down. She may have had a sad past, being locked away in some shitty castle, and with a person who did not care about her. However, it will never excuse what she did, is doing. She needs to be sealed away, or dealt with by the gods themselves once humanity is fully unity against her.
Plus, saving her means that people basically died for nothing regardless, just like Ruby's mother. You don't just save mass murderers.
@@carrotman4668 As the brothers said, she would only die if she understands the meaning of life and death. If someone is to hypothetically save her and convince her, she will die.

RWBY is such an amazing show, it's absolutely beautiful animation and backgrounds. I think humanity did a well punishment for her, Salem just wanted her love back but she demanded it from the gods and turned them on each other. She was suppose to learn from it but didn't which led to more consequences. I think that's a lesson worth learning.
@SaviorOfNirn Allow me to disagree. First of all, the fact that she is a human help us to sympathize with her, but, even if we sympathize that dies not mean she was right.
First of all, she petition the Gods to change the rules of the world because Ozma died. Think for a second what would happen if the God of Light said, "sure i'll do it..." . Every single human would start demanding that he bring back the dead or make them immortal. I'm not saying they can't do it, I'm saying that humanity with all their limitations was what the Gods created and agreed upon, both of them. If one or the other God started to give immortality or second chances (resurrection) left and right, that would quite possibly lead to war between the gods and humanity would be caught in the middle.
Furthermore, you think of the Gods in human standards. That is a mistake everyone makes. All of us have this idea that because we are humans, we are automatically above all others and if in a story there is a human, then he is in the right. That is not how it works. In this instance, as with all the legends that involve Gods, the Gods and above humanity. They cannot be killed, they cannot be controlled, and THEY make the rules.
It's quite easy to understand this really. Take a human for example. Do you care deeply if a fellow human destroys an ant nest? Sure you might reprimand him but you won't prosecute him. It's the same thing with Gods. They created the humans, gave them gifts and let them live their lives freely without interfering. They even lived among them, and listen to the problems they had, interfering if what they asked didn't go against the rules the brothers had agreed upon.
Now here comes a human that not only demands they break the rules upon which the world was created, but she also lies to them and almost make them start fighting each other. In this instance many say the punishment was too severe. No, it was not. If a child, a teenager steals, do you not punish him/her? Do you not ground him/her, cut their allowance or if they continue to try and steal maybe the victim would try to press charges? That is exactly what they did. They punished a rebellious child that almost caused a battle between Gods because of her arrogance and lies. And the punishment wasn't even without an end. They told her. Learn the importance of life and death. Live among the people and grow as a person and you will be allowed to die and be with Ozma.
Instead, she chose to rebel against the Gods and took down the entire human race. And here is were want I said earlier is important to understand. The fact that the God of darkness destroys the human race. It might seem illogical and cruel to us, but as I said earlier, to the Gods we are ants. They play with us, take care of us and listen to what we say. But to them, we are just not important enough to care if we are destroyed. Just as a human won't care if an ant nest is destroyed by a fellow human. They can just recreate the human race if they care to.
What is important to understand from all this is that WE are humans. We have limitations and WE must accept them. To go against the Gods or the forces of nature just because we WANT to, like a child rebelling against it's parents, is not the answer. We must grow, learn about the world and try to better our selves. And only when we have learned everything that we can about a law of nature, then and only then can we try to see if we can bend it to our will with the outmost respect and caution.
Salem didn't do this. She tried to trick and bend to her will forces well beyond her control, or really, the control of the entire human race, and she and the others paid the price. She was arrogant, angry and acted as a petulant child that decided it would murder its parent because they would not buy it the toy it wanted.
So no, it is not the actions of the Gods that are in question. It is Salem's arrogance that we must focus on. They even say it through Jinn in the episode.

Even after everything she still thought that she was not at fault. She had become a self-entitled bitch at this point. That is hubris right there, as seen to all classical literature of ancient Greek tragedies or renaissance literature later. There is no hubris from the Gods, Gods MAKE the rules and their power is beyond despute. They freaking destroyed the entire human race and you want to talk about hubris? Hubris is the act of doing something that is beyond the capabilities of your nature. We, as humans are limited and are capable of hubris because of that limitation. Gods are Gods. They do NOT have limits as seen in this episode. Hence, are incapable of hubris.
Oh and one other thing. Salem is immortal. See cannot be killed as decreed by the Gods. There is no deus ex machina, e.g the silver eyes I have seen many say to the forums. She can be hurt, or even defeated for a time, as seen when Ozma killed her in the episode, but she will resurrect without fail. She can only die if she learns the importance of life and death or if the Gods themselves kill her.

Fan theory: DUST are actually the fossiled remnants of the Old Humanity (Homo Sapiens Arcanus - Magical Humans) but since the gods abandoned them, the new Humans only have but a semblance of the old magics (limited to their souls such as Glyphs, Petal Rush, I Burn, Shadow, Polarity, MoonSlice, Via Suns, Cinder Caress, Thunderous Turnuo, etc.)

Ya, one of two on here that I have to go watch other versions of this reaction. With some better volume mixing, and.....well less over reacting to get more likes and in the long run...money to pay for rent...and in some sad cases.....their kid's next warm meal. I got at least a couple more minutes in on this one then the last ep.
I don't mind the purple haired girl being in the vid, but her volume was really loud, maybe you could lower it for her next time? It got annoying at some point.

That purple haired girl holy fuck everytime she talks her voice just overtakes everything. That on specifically turned up or something? She speaks normally for a bit then when something interesting comes she talks in screaming or some shit.
Anyone else think the God of Light in this episode kinda sounds like God from Hellsing Ultimate Abridged?
MurderOfBirds is a good guy, but he gets way too excited about everything he sees in the show, which at first can be funny, but with time it just gets annoying. Like the fact that everyone could use magic. Sure, that's quite the information, but I don't think it's worth shouting it like he does.

He's passionate about the show so everyone has different reactions and right now he's probably the #1 reactor for RWBY and rightfully so, his reactions are always what we're all thinking and wanting to do. I don't wanna be that guy, but if you find it annoying then don't watch it and his reactions are not there to laugh at, it's to sympathize with so I reckon you've gone in with the wrong idea on what the whole 'reacting' scene is suppose to accomplish.
