So as y'all know TH-cam has this thing when it sends an E-mail when the channel you're subscribed to uploads something new. Most of the time it's very annoying and spams the f out of my mail, but when I receive an E-mail regarding this channel's new upload, I'm happy like a madman and the gems like this are the reason. F*cking awesome! Keep it up
When dance music was made 50-50 analogue and digital. Before the days of making a track on your laptop with god awful sounding bass. Beats without the thud. Back then you had a ST or Amiga 500 running cubase and the blessed midi interface (built in on the ST) and your 303, 909, synth, sequencer and sampler plugged in basically cables everywhere. Recording to a DAT layering and building the tune in real time and catching something magical. Twisting and tweeking knobs and sliders feeling the flow and vibe of the track letting you structure it 'catching the moment'. I made sound cynical or snobbish which isn't my intent. Amazing things can be done with nothing more than a decent laptop, Reason and usb keyboard/controller but analogue instruments have a warm sound that their sampled counterparts can't quite equal. When I recall Richard D James (Aphex Twin) interviews from back in the day regarding if a sound he was looking for couldn't be made with the equipment he had at his disposal. He would take apart electrical devices and build his own stuff. This intrigued, amazed, awed me and left a sense of respected jealousy. R James, Oliver Lieb, Jeff Mills, Squarepusher and Moby - just name a few - are personal heroes of mine. You know one of their tunes when it comes on. They had their own distinctive sound. Oliver Lieb's lush, warm almost 3D reverbed synth sounds are so emotional and back in 93/94 when Fragile or Hearts came on in a club I felt like I was swirling with the music above everyones heads. Everybody was unified with the sound on one amazing moment in time. Yeah the ecstasy played a huge part but it only opened a door to experience the music in an almost 3D soundscape. I've really rambled on but Pascal had created many of these moments with thousands of people all over the world. It kinda feels (like hip hop aswell) the sounds haven't been bettered or improved upon since the 90's. That's may own personal view and I don't wanna sound like those who harp on about the 60's, the 70's punk you had to be there blah blah. But I get what they were saying. Anyway I've gone on enough. One love people stay safe during these uncertain covid - 19 times.
Not too long ago, someone gifted to me an Atari ST but I have yet to use it as a sequencer. Unfortunately, the model I have only has 512kb of RAM so, some of the programs I've tried loading onto, just don't work X( On the bright side, I picked up a JV-1080 the other day and I'm loving fooling around with that :)
@@benmoreau6899 getting Midi gear in and out of a computer is still a task, instead of making music, I got a high, when finally the signal was flowing and everything worked as it should. Sad but true ! Peace 👹😢💣💥✌❤
May the gods bless you sir, what a banger.
I do throw a wry smile when I see classic trance mixes on you tube 99-05 etc. This is the real classic trance, and what era it was too.

These tunes have that analogue magic, never to be repeated.
