I don't like this because audio is distorted, muffled (wrong filter setup, etc...) and the whole essence of my composition is now lost. This is NOT how I intended it to sound and the uploader doesn't care that I keep mention this, under every Lethargy demo... Dude, you completely ruin these demos every time you upload a video like this. Please stop. Or just please start listening to the composer of the music and fix the audio.
Sure it's your personal taste. And it's my music and I disagree with your methods as the composer of the track. What's next? Put a distortion on one of Adele's track and upload it with a comment as "your personal taste"? You seem to be ignorant to the original composer's wish and request that the music should not be altered. What you do is alteration and it's not allowed, even if you cover it with "it's my personal taste".
@@StrayBoom I just put in another SID chip, I don't change anything in the sound after that, this is all created by the SID itself. This would be the same if you were to use a Roland synthesizer and play the same thing on another model. It is an alternative that people want to hear.
@@Papierzeit That analogy doesn't work. The 6581 is fundamentally incapable of doing certain things that the 8580 can due to its lack of working combined waveforms, its deficient filter, etc. We're talking about entire phrases being inaudible, or otherwise badly muffled and distorted - I do not believe for a second that anyone could genuinely consider this to be preferable. This situation is *not* the same as being able to play the same tune on various different conventional instruments to hear the same composition but with alternative (albeit functioning) sounds. When we compose SID music, we usually compose to specification, 6581 or 8580, so that we are clear on the target machine's affordances. Would it really be so difficult for the uploader to observe this?
@@mibri One could now say I would be ignorant, but yes I understand the intention behind it, yet I find it exciting to hear it with this kind and if others also want to hear it so what they seem to do with pleasure then that is a legitimate alternative even if it was not intended so it now exists and changes what was originally thought so to speak on a new meter level that is super exciting...
That would be something, just run today's technology on steam, wouldn't it?
Short but sweet.
Yes, there will be a longer demo next time. Variety is the spice of life :)
i like that sound

Thanks for your feedback and as often explained is also so in the video description that is my personal decision and my personal taste.
