Negan is about to cause his own overthrow. It might not look like that from our last video, which discussed how effective his rule-based brutality was for controlling people, but he neglected one critical piece which will be his undoing.
In this video, we’ll cover how Negan is likely to meet his end. The inspiration comes from CGP Grey’s recent video Rules for Rulers and of course the book it is based on The Dictator’s Handbook. Both are definitely worth checking out, especially since I’ll be repeating some of the main points here.

Simon killed the garbage dump guys so Javis kidnapped Negan so he lost control of his forces and the siege of Hilltop was screwed because they lost people and ammo and also some of the prisoners turned against Negan. Because of the ammo lost and Eugene booby trapped the DIY ammo, almost everybody died in his team at the first shot of the final battle, and Negan almost had his hand blown off so he was at a serious disadventage vs Rick

Honestly though, the survivors had it coming. They attacked Negan first. Killed like 40 of his guys, and he repaid them with the mercy of only killing two of them. I'd say Negan has been pretty merciful.....

This video says Negan will die. But currently it is September 5th, 2022. He is not dead yet, and will be alive until the the end of the show. And I’m glad that he hasn’t died. Rick and Negan are my favorite characters in The Walking Dead.

The show changes some stories. But Jeffrey Dean Morgan said that he will be in season 8. But we'll see.

He's alive in the comics but Dwight did betray him, and he was defeated by all of Negan's groups turning against him. Exactly what he said will happen.

candiduscorvus The show isn't like the comics. There are a f*ckload of differences between them.
People keep saying that but the arc has always followed the comics. The producers even go to lengths to lie and talk about how different the show is from the comics when they time and time again follow the comics in their little "cliffhangers".
candiduscorvus Of course there are also a ton of similarities,but you still have to see the differences. Daryl doesn't exist, Carol is dead I think, Rick and Andrea (or whatever her name was) hooking up, Shane dying early etc, all don't happen in the show.
Really the way they go about it is they add some stuff in, like more Hunter backstory with Terminus, and change some plot lines around a little but it always converges on the main comic story again. I mean they killed Andrea off just to have Sasha and Michonne take her story points and Carol is now taking Michonne's relationships with Morgan and Ezekiel.
Another point of it is that Denise took Abe's death just for the show to then kill him AND Glenn off in the same episode so as to try and not conflict. Daryl hasn't really added too much to the core comic plot lines so far either I feel instead just changing some aspects, and adding others, before continuing on with the scheduled programming.
So essentially, unless JDM has to leave we will get what we got in the comics.
Negan is a major character in the show from this point on. He won't go anywhere for several more seasons, if ever. The show may be different, but just like Glenn dying because he has to for the story to progress, Negan will live. Count on it. They can play games like the cliffhanger but it honestly didn't fool any comic reader. It was too important. Negan is too important for the story even up to the current comic issue. Negan will be alive through at least season 10. I honestly think he potentially outlives Rick.

Negan will not die. He will be spared by Rick's group and be imprisoned in the same cell Morgan built. Then he will later become an ally of Rick when they go up against the Whisperers. I'm glad they won't kill him off because Negan is such a charming villain!

Hi Charlie , i have been watching your video's along time now and the way you analyse characters is amazing , and in addition i really think you should make a character analysis of " Patrick Jane" in " The Mentalist" , and if it's possible make it with your voice , i think i am not the only one who misses the directing clear and strong tone in the videos .
And as usual i am sure you will attach it to a certain trait and my suggestion would be How he finds and puts the pieces together to give his precise conclusions most of the time .

If you tnik that you may have been missing the point of this video. This is not a prediction video (we all know that Rick and his crew will win in the end), this is a video that focuses on the power aspects of this character. All the Negan and TWD aspect are here to attract viewers and serve as a basis for development of the differents points about dictatorial power. (sorry for bad english)

I agree but the show and the comics are different so both will have different ways of ending.
Yeah if they killed off Negan in the show I would stop watching, and only stick to the comics. Negan is way to awesome to kill, especially with the recent shit he's pulled in The Whisperer War. I genuinely think Negan acknowledges Rick as a better leader than himself, but Negan does provide a counter balance with his council that is sometimes needed. Negan is fucking brutal, and he seems impressed with what Rick built in the comics, but the first time it's threatened Negan tells Rick you have to fuck them Whisperers up bro, or people are gonna be pissed! So what does Negan do when he's freed? Kill their fucking leader, and present her head to Rick! LMAO I used to hate Negan, but now I'm loving the bastard! He's very similar to Rick in a lot of ways in wanting to re-build society, Negan just took a Totalitarian approach, where as Rick is much more fair handed, and I think Negan realizes his approach was wrong at this point, which is why he doesn't seem to contest Rick in the comics, and instead just wants Rick to trust him to maintain what Rick built.
They do hit most of the plot points of the comics though. Just with different characters and way out of order. My biggest disappointment this season? Rick never beat up Negan after getting Carl back.
Oh man I forgot about that, I haven't read through the comics again in a while. I would like to have seen that scene.

I was slowly piecing all these points together as the season has been going on.
And not only is Dwight gonna betray him because he's not dependent on him, but also because he took his wife away from him and continually taunts him about it. I think this mid season finale will be all (or most) of the groups getting together to begin discussing how to take Negan down.

Do a video on Walter White/ Heisenberg and how his facial language removed the need of resorting to violence. An example would be when he walked out of a store and made a man back off even though he was obviously bigger then Heisenberg and 2 of them were there. Although their size difference they backed off because Heisenberg is physiologically diminishing them with his body language.

You know it's a directed tv series when so many of the characters and rick himself had so many chances to kill Negan yet didn't for some stupid reason the show wants. Only then you know it's a tv show for sure.

i expected all that you mentioned to happen when i seen episode 8 of season 7. It is inevitable in a way, he had forced so many colonies to support him. In a way, sure, he is getting stuff from them, but he is also indirectly building an army to take him down. Can't wait to see him taken out!

M4tty B3e I haven't read the comics and I predicted the same thing. The sudden branching of the story into the 3 outposts and the female tribe is a massive giveaway. The tribe has weapons and the three groups have numbers.
I think it would be cool if you would also make a video on key supporters themselves being the rivals. I think that Rick is an example of this in the show.
