The more I listen to this type of music I hear less "odd" and more groove. Also, the drums fit so well. It's not just an exercise in counting, but a composition. I am still tapping my foot. :)
Love it! One of my band's songs is mostly in 13/8 (3 + 3 + 3 + 4) and it's my favourite one to play :) It's actually amazed me how intuitive / ingrained the feel becomes after playing it over time
One reason I love Prog and symphonic music are the time changes. Real music has time changes, and a lot of sophisticated music ( and the system you use is about math. Everyone knows that mathematicians are geniuses, and you, Mattias , are a true genius. Must be really great for your brain, too. Me, I just try and remember names to help my brain. ;-)

Great song and playing Mattias. Have you tried the Not Quite Double Rhythm Knowledge System from Mike Mangini? I think it's easier to learn than Konakol and you can do polyrhythms etc.etc. Cheers

The rule of 13 predicts a formula of C9H9+4=C9H13 The odd mass and the odd number of H atoms make it reasonable to add an N atom and subtract CH2:N-15=N - (CH+H) = N-CH2 This gives a formula C8H11N The peak at 77 suggests C6H5.. so the peak at 44 is the other fragment. 44/13=3r5, which gives a formula of C3H3+5=C3H8 We know this contains N, so the formula becomes C2H6N.. or you could also say it like this.. just a damn bloody groovy beat!
