I'm 20 and only found out recently that pronouncing ch, j, and sh out of the left side of my mouth isnt how everybody else does it, but it was never called out or noticed in my speaking,, but I'm a singer, so when my prof was constantly talkign about me pronouncing ch really soft,, combined with me always wondering how people would make stuff like train=chrain based on the original consonants, it finally clicked together,,,, this is really awesome and helpful!

In my language the word Janch comes up very frequently and I would always mispronounce it as it includes the J and Ch sounds, but now I can say it properly. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for these -ch videos!! My 7 y/o daughter has been struggling with this sound for years and we just got it to stick, thanks to you! Also, I added a little trick to help her make a stronger "t" sound, as that has been her problem all along (which was causing her to say "sh" instead of "ch"): we pretended that I put super-glue in the t-spot, which helped her put more pressure in that spot, which then makes the release create more of a "ch" sound (we pretend that she is able to pull her tongue off the glue). Not sure if I'm explaining that well, but it sure helped. If she says "sh" I just remind her of the super glue and she gets it. I'm not one to comment, but I just had to thank you for this and share the good news.

Hang in there Allison. Have you tried recording yourself and finding your best sound? once you find it, practice it that way to death. I've made a few other videos. Tr is just like Ch, so think "ty'ruck" for truck, "ty-rack" for track, etc. Once you get Ch, stretch it out. Ch is actually made up of "T+sh". Hope these tips help. I have a video on J, its D-ya, like did'ya, dya eat yet?

What I seem to be doing with my sh and ch sounds is that the entire left side of my tongue goes up and blocks of the left side of my mouth, sending air through the right side only. Actually that seems to seems to be a habit in all of my speech in general. It's been driving me insane ever since I noticed
