Aww thank you! I've been a teacher for 12 years and I've done college courses on teaching philosophy, psychology, and techniques, so that could be what you're noticing :)
Going from 0 guitar ability to learning my fav song ever after 5 days, thank you so so so much! Really fallen in love with the guitar now. Literally can’t avoid it as soon as I glance it
More than twenty two years after the release of this song, I thanks to you that I can start playing it on the guitar. You become the extension of the adventure of this song. I am writing to you from La Reunion Island, in the Indian Ocean. If one day you come by here, you will be greeted with pleasure.
Just thought I'd stop back by this video and say I DID IT! I can now play through the full song and hum along the words to it! Thank you so much for teaching me my first full song on guitar, on to the next song!
Just treat her for like the milllionth time today and finally payed attention to how you did G to Em, game changer I feel like I’m finally getting close lol
Your explanation and walk-through is great! Love this song and trying to get the 'feel' for playing a song, structurally... So this helped me a lot. I appreciate the time-stamps you provide, as well.
Great tutorial. This is one of my favourite songs. I can’t play guitar but I can kinda play this now (if I’m being generous.) Wish other tutorials on here were this well done!!
Nice instructions. I too don’t use or like using a pick. I haven’t used one in years. My finger nails on my plucking hand are all long. Hard to get used to at first but now it’s normal to me.
Thanks for the video :) Quick question, the strumming time changes for the bridge if I hear correctly, it's played 3 times instead of two per chords, correct ?
This is my first song I’m gonna learn and I’m having trouble but I think I will get it. Is it okay for me to use my fingers and not a pick as a beginner? I don’t wanna wreck my fingers but I like the feel of it.
Slowing it down definitely helps and also playing along to the recording can help with getting the feel. There might be something getting in your way you don't notice, so make sure the strums are in the right direction, take a look at your pick technique, and stuff like that, hope that helps!
I am entirely confused and intrigued at the same time my main question is during the bridge how am i meant to know when to switch chords on personal plays and also when i try it its: Down, Down, Up, Down Up Do i do that the entire song and also do i restart from there? Like go back to Down, down Or do i keep going on the Down, up?
I learned it by playing along to the cover on this channel over and over. (You just have to know she did it in a different key than this tutorial. Maybe she will say what that is. Anyway, that helped me with the timing.)
Sorry to hear that! It might be helpful to watch some videos on how to strum and play different chords first. There are a lot of great channels out there for learning the basics :) I remember learning a lot from the Mahalo channel when I started, but that was a long time ago so I don't know what's good now a days. I'm happy to know if you'd be interested in me making some other specific content though! I'd be happy to make some "learning the basics" type videos sometimes if you'd like :)
I’m going to be so swag thank u guitar lady
I love this comment thank you
are u swag yet?

It's Corwin's, I'm so happy to be able to borrow it, it sounds beautiful
Maybe I can learn this.
Yeah I think you probably could!
Does it go verse x3, instrumental, bridge X2, verse?
Also, it is 6 for every chord change, even though some you put a dash between the chords and some you didn’t?
love it
Yoooo I can play so good now Thanku

Great tutorial btw.

I shall also be swag, thankee-sai.
Does anyone know what type of guitar is used in the beginning? It almost sounds like two guitars to me. Please let me know!
Thanks for the video :)
Quick question, the strumming time changes for the bridge if I hear correctly, it's played 3 times instead of two per chords, correct ?
Tea is important
tried learning this song but as soon as i did my g string broke. song must be real powerful then huh
Saaad
the women at the club will love this
This is my first song I’m gonna learn and I’m having trouble but I think I will get it. Is it okay for me to use my fingers and not a pick as a beginner? I don’t wanna wreck my fingers but I like the feel of it.
I rarely use a pick personally! Good luck :)
My first song as well. Struggling with the chord transitions I'm so slow.. it looks like magic to see the fingers move in unison to the C chord lol
does anyone have anytips for singing along? i struggle with it, i always try to strum along with the lyrics...
you figured it out?
Do you have any tips for the timing? When i strum at full speed or half while counting i becom spaghet
Slowing it down definitely helps and also playing along to the recording can help with getting the feel. There might be something getting in your way you don't notice, so make sure the strums are in the right direction, take a look at your pick technique, and stuff like that, hope that helps!
ahh that guitar is so cute >:I
I am entirely confused and intrigued at the same time my main question is during the bridge how am i meant to know when to switch chords on personal plays and also when i try it its:
Down, Down, Up, Down Up
Do i do that the entire song and also do i restart from there? Like go back to
Down, down
Or do i keep going on the
Down, up?
can you do naomi
What's the bpm on this?my attempts are sounding too sad atm
I learned it by playing along to the cover on this channel over and over. (You just have to know she did it in a different key than this tutorial. Maybe she will say what that is. Anyway, that helped me with the timing.)
It's at about 178bpm! And my cover is in the key of C instead of G :)
Would you recommend beginners to play the G and Em with the index finger or the way you play it?
It really just depends on what's comfortable for you, but I find the way I play it makes it easier to switch to other common chords :)
Normal
Tuning?
Yeah!
Verse: G Em C D
Instrumental: verse and then Em C G D D
Bridge: Em C G D ×3
hello fellow manipulators
HELP 💀💀
I know this ain’t about guitar but your voice in this sounds like a female version of Jeff.
🤘 .😘 Back.
is this a good first song to learn?
Yeah not bad! There are definitely slightly easier ones out there but this one should be doable as a first song
Thanks. Also you're cute
Idk why but when i play the D chord at the end it sounds very weak, unlike the song and yours. Probably just a skill issue
Yeah it just takes practice! :)
I’m brand new beginner and I didn’t understand this well
