Hey there, congrats on the new (old) bike! I see that the bike comes with the old RHS gearbox with neutral finder, even though the gearshift is on the left for US homologation purposes; I think you can move the gearshift back to the right hand side for that super authentic bullet experience ... just wanted to give you that bit of info as you might not know, happy riding! Fyi I ride a 2004 Bullet 350 myself here in Chennai
These old Brit inspired thumpers are good for 4o-45 mph tops... any speeds above that and you risk engine damage. The newer 5I'v00's were redesigned and can handle higher speeds for distance adventures... . I had a 2007 and my dealer was very insistent on this... I've seen 3 in his shop with the top of the piston broke off..... If you keep this in mind you'll enjoy this machine for many happy miles... 😎
You should take the opportunity to learn how to use the kickstarter and the decompression lever. You can get a good feel for the engine's compression that way, among other things. Plus the decompression lever makes it easier to start, whether you're using the starter motor or the kickstarter. I think you've got a very nice bike there (you got a good deal!), so I hope you have a lot of fun learning about her and riding. I'm looking forward to seeing how that goes.
Sarah, I've been watching your channel and think you've scored yourself a good project with Hari and Mushta (am I spelling that right?) Also You said in your previous video that you have an engineering background. In what subfield, though? Biomedical (like my middle nephew), mechanical , software, Etc.?
@@MimosasSamosasMotorcycles Thanks. That's my preference. Had I not had a learning disability, I think that would have been a swell field for me. Mechanical things certainly interest me.
Thanks for commenting! This one was originally shiny, it's not the military model but the previous owner was a veteran so he added the panniers & painted the chrome. New owners bring new life to bikes 😁
