While I do think Snake-eyes SHOULD be hit, I think what you (and a lot of people) may have missed is that there are cards in this set that will shape how we play Yugioh. There are some powerful cards that more than likely will be used from the top decks to the bottom of the barrel. That by definition is meta changing.

I heard Ritual Beast was getting support like 2ontbs ago, so i went and bought them mid February. Ive been waiting for these cards for months now, and i cant wait to loop cannahawk at locals again.
Ritual Beast Ulti-Cannihawk is in the set. They also have the alternate artwork as well. All of the alternate art cards are available like Void Imagination, Medallion of the Ice Barrier, and Genex Ally Birdman
All sets are a single card purchase set, even if they are good You'll almost never pay less to open packs than you would just buying the cards you want, even with trades and sales included. But yeah, this set is straight ass.

The new Ice Barrier cards can actually make the deck playable. Imagine playing Ice Barrier in 2024 and it not being a joke. We live in the good timeline. (Sad that no mention of them in the video)

This set is giving me two great cards to support my favourite decks. Oil is a broken card in Infernoble Flame Swordsman. Its a free Synchro/XYZ or a very easy Ultimate Flame Swordsman. Blaze obviously is amazing Red-Eyes target and support with non-targeting destruction. I still feel sick that Bonfire was Pyro specific and not just Fire support.
TCG dropping the ball when it comes to important reprints again. There's NO EXCUSE for Ritual Beast missing key reprints needed to make the new cards work. The Infernoid and Sky Striker cards might add new Snake-Eye variants to the meta, but you're still stuck playing that stupid fake snake engine if you want to build "competitive" variants of those. Fiendsmith is going to be the crazy engine replacing Snake-Eye once they're out, and then people will just start whining about Yubel and Unchained(again), not to mention all the decks that can abuse an easy Beatrice(heck Lightsworn even gets a new Light Fiend to search making them even MORE compatible with the engine than other mill strats).
Was so hyped for this set but I learned that they didn't reprint Elder (You know, that ritual beast main deck monster you need in x3 and got only one print in secret in the past) and that Lara may be short printed ... Feel so good to have been waiting for Ritual Beast that long to end up having this...
I bought all half a year ago expecting that some cards won't be reprinted. that's a lesson for the future - if you're interested in the archetype, buy all the cards right after the support is confirmed for the ocg and the initial hype cools down (2-3 weeks)
@@szymonsadlo I bought some of the ritual beast I thought they would not reprint, but i didn't expected them to not reprint the main deck monster that never got a reprint and is a x3 even in the modern deck. In OCG those archetype came up with a box that was dedicated to reprint every card related to them. What Konami have done is (another) middle finger to the ppl that was hyped for Ritual Beast ...

I already observed that the product released in the ocg is never the same when released in the tcg. especially reprint sets. if I'm really interested in the archetype it's better to buy all cards and be pissed that they reprinted all and I overpaid than the other way around. I already missed playing a few archetypes just because I haven't bought the card and it shot up in price so much...

When they annouced Melodious, 1st movement got a price increase (and still no reprint), same with Madolche with Salon. It's tiring to need to anticipated each time what card you need to buy to not be fucked because TCG is unable to have proper and logical reprint ...

Archfiend's Advent is busted. It's an alternative to Gadget Trio when you open Sarc and it's an amazing card going second because built in on summon Change of Heart.
Although yes, we do need more of those important cards instead of useless reprints, it will make scalpers more likely to buy out every pack. Making more harder for regular players and new players to obtain cards.
As much as I want Phantom of Yubel for my Yubel deck, I'll have to see how much it will cost once it releases because I already spent a lot of money just getting my copies of Nightmare Throne (I narrowly dodged having to get the over $50 ones). Slightly disappointed that Moon Goddess isn't in the set, although I wasn't planning to use her for a Fiendsmith engine since I have no desire to incorporate that engine into my Yubel deck and use her for her intended purpose of getting out my Underworld Goddess.

Not to mention that like xanthos said, the Fiendsmith engine is going to be very expensive since pretty much all the top players and decks will want to run it. The most I'll ever do in competitive is go to locals. I don't care if people think its stupid of me to not incorporate Fiendsmith into my Yubel deck. It's MY deck, and I'll put what I want in it. I don't even use any of the Unchained Link Monsters simply because I don't want to.

Really wanted Dragon master magia but only in QCR means I wont be getting it and I thought all the new sky striker cards would be in this set but we only get the link 3 which is mid. The link 2s are way better but will have to wait I guess. I didnt know about life hack or the new super poly target monster so at least those are something I'll want to get from this set.
The biggest and only issue i have with the set is that Dragon Magia is locked behind a Quarter. It is a new card so let people have it. I wanted it but now again i have to wait to play it.

speaking of structure deck cards not being reprinted will konami ever reprint ancient gear fortress, like I have my playset when I bought the structure back in 2017 but if someone who wasn't playing the game back then wants to build the deck it is gonna cost them like $60 for a playset which is a shame because I think the deck is very fun
Life Hack is a funny card, not sure if it's "good" yet, but definitely a funny card. Make Appo have enough attack to negate all their monster effects (once per chain). And in the deck I care about Yubel (got a playset of Throne for 23ea BABY!), well it turns any attack an opponent throws into lethal, Pain reverses the battle damage while Yubel/Terror do burn based off the monsters attack, doing (Life/2)*2=Life... which is now gone. Samurai Destroyer and similar cards aren't much of a problem now that you could make Yubel really really big, so big that even if they negate it's effects they still can't run over it. I don't think I'm gonna play it, but it's a really funny inconsistent meme of a card for the deck. Phantom of Yubel on the other hand? I'm gonna babysit/watch it's price, unless it's short printed I don't see it being anymore than $40-50 once the $80 preorder price drops. Still expensive as heck and I'm hoping it'll drop really low, but I doubt it since plenty of decks can take advantage of Phantom like Unchained and D/D, and it's really the only chase card meaning not much sealed will be opened, causing the chase card to be even rarer.

Ngl this set is a 7/10 for me banger reprints, finally the archetype support is here! But my only complaint is the fusion and structure decks reprints that feel like waste of paper....
Oil is kinda trashy tbh cauz it's bricky at best and with Ash at 3 there's no real reason to play it. Yubel it's a solid tier 1 now, and with Fiendsmith it might go up to top 3 decks of the format next to snake and voiceless. Ritual Beasts are going to be funny as hell and huge, or at least I hope so.
Everytime a BoL pack comes out, its a meta changer lol Yubel fusion is pretty much the only real chaser. Last BoL, the last meta changer. Phoenix was the only chaser.
Sprite reprints without any updates to sprite just feels like a waste of time tbh. I’ve been thinking for a while they need some type of love and their latest band were a little too much.
That's what I've been saying every time I see someone praise the inclusion of Sprite in this set. Like, the deck is dog tier garbage now, thanks for wasting our pack slots with useless reprints I guess
To be fair those are prerelease prices where only a handful of people even have the card to sell right now. When people start opening at locals we'll likely see the price plummet to closer to $60.

Ice Barrier Low key slept on, TCG has Toadally Awesome which is a huge difference maker for the deck as now nibiru can't stop the draw 4 combo.
Looking forward to Striker, infernoid and RDA support.

Yeah I bought my thrones for 35 each from a friend, only to find out phantom is 60 a pop. I hate being a yugioh player most days.

Oil is kinda trashy tbh cauz it's bricky at best and with Ash at 3 there's no real reason to play it. Yubel it's a solid tier 1 now, and with Fiendsmith it might go up to top 3 decks of the format next to snake and voiceless. Ritual Beasts are going to be funny as hell and huge, or at least I hope so.

To be fair those are prerelease prices where only a handful of people even have the card to sell right now. When people start opening at locals we'll likely see the price plummet to closer to $60.
