Model Mimi Tao has become the hit TV series first ever transgender model
Mimi spent six years as a male monk at a temple, which is where she says she 'found' her true self, and realized that she was truly a woman
Her modelling career kick started after she modeled for Marco Marco during New York fashion week in 2017
The new season of Project Runway 17
Project Runway has unveiled its first ever transgender model to feature on the show in an exclusive clip that was released ahead of the newest series of hit TV program.
Mimi Tao, from Thailand, was having her dress fitted by her designer when she revealed that she is the first transgender model to ever feature on the show.
I feel so proud of her. I am not Thai, I am not transgender, I don’t know her. I am just so so proud of her.

I love the level of grace and ease in every step.
This lady wore some loud garments that are so hard to pull off because they would overshadow many. (As in : she wore the dress, she didn't allow the dress to wear her) and she also elevated some underwhelming pieces and made them look stunning just because they were on her.

Wow she did not feminize her face and that made her so unique looking and high fashion.
If you haven't noticed the most successful models don't conform to the facial proportions of what is considered classically beautiful. Something about their face is off or over amplified, like the cheeks or the jawline, etc. Some of them actually have more masculine chiseled features. Trans women are well suited for modeling.
