I just have to compliment the family for the upbringing on Wesley. That young man knows how important it is for a family to all do good days work, every time they are needed. Amazing young man, I think you should be very proud of him.

My great-grandfather farmed 180 acres with horses. Finally, he bought a John Deere B. He farmed til he died at 90. When something would breakdown, as it inevitably would, he would always respond after pushing his hat back on his head, “Well, tomorrow is another day.” He never sweated a breakdown. Probably why he lived and farmed until he died.😀😅

Yelp I'd say old Bent Betty has seen her best days ... probably a few years back. So maybe now Annie the auger can take over and make life a lot easier and faster for yall. You could make the bent auger into a short auger for transferring things around

The more on gas you keep in the tank helps keep the pump cooler and keeps it from burning it up the pump is in the tank and it is not easy to change... Stay Safe & God Bless...

As I see ten and twelve year olds weighing in with 50+ lbs of excess blubber, dressed in pajamas, with snide attitudes, in the grocery store - all the while whining to their parents about which sugary food they want - I think they all need about a month, maybe two with y'all.
Watching you and Wesley work the sweep auger says all that needs said about respect, worth ethic and responsibility. Nice going, Meredith! You and Lawrence have done well with your family. You and your children are in so much better shape than the majority of families I see - well, I'm just impressed and appreciative. Keep up the good life!

We love all your videos. Saw Austin whistling in this one. I taught my oldest daughter to whistle with fingers in the corners of her mouth. It’s a great way to get someone’s attention. We both are very LOUD WHISTLERS. We’re over the mountain in Greene county Tennessee.
Don't take this as criticism, please!! Are the bins close enough???? Ask Mr. Lawrence, why not go from the emptying auger to the other auger (load). Has to be a reason to know the man! Love his workarounds. I wait for each one!! Happy Farming....

Sharing the real. Equipment is made with a wear out time. Having to replace the auger is not what you would have wanted, but being able to and getting an upgrade, larger diameter is a plus. Great to see Austin and Wesley involved with the farm operations. Glad you have the friends to call on for assistance. Cleaning the bin out was a chore, but having the corn in the other bins means no shoveling the corn to grind. Stay safe and well.

I was so glad you told us the size of the new auger. I had been trying to compare and even reversed, then paused the video trying to make a comparison. The extra 2" will really speed up your transfers. New equipment costs a fortune but I was so happy to see this piece arrive. I hope it serves you well.

When I was just out of high school, we used a conveyer to put small hay bales up in the mow. We wer hooking it up and couldn't lift the bottom so I hung from the top end as extra weight to make it easier. When I did it put to much stress on the cable. It snapped dropping on my knee and 65 stitches later I was fine. Conveyer was junk but I lived to learn a lesson. Lawrence made me nervous brushing corn in the new auger. My father has only had 1 hand since I can remember due to the auger grabbing his glove and sucking his hand in . Be careful boss, but I'm sure you know that. Glad things are starting to turn for the better 🇺🇸

U and Lawrence are doing a great job of being parents. Ur kids are such a joy to watch with the knowledge they have. Wesley will have skills from fixing older equipment and how to make things work to get by that a lot of other farm kids won’t. Just had a question, I do like ur home cause it’s log cabiny and quaint, but wondering why u’ve never moved into the newer house?

Wesley, I was in FFA many many many years ago...was the chaplain of my chapter, and sometimes parliamentarian. Those sheep...spoiled rotten! lol. Blessings and love to all y'all from Ohio. I am glad you were able to get a new auger. I especially like it having new shields. 8 inch will definitely speed loading up dramatically. It was huge difference for me when we went from an 8 to a ten inch. It sure is good to see LB getting a round better. Dang I hope you have some awesome bean yields. Mine were 70 to 82 bushels per acre, but a lot different type of soil and cost for the ground.
I know that auger prolly burned a hole in the pocket but still Congratulations to the new one with more capacity and faster cranking! Whoot whoot!! Happy for yall! So I guess tomorrow will be bean time!? Have a wonderful evening yall God bless!!

Hey Meredith, if you happen to see this comment, it is possible to straighten a bent auger. You will probably need a new part section of internal flighting though. Fair bit of work involved (and I realise LB is always busy) but if the rest of the unit is not completely worn out might be worth having a go at fixing to keep as a spare 🤷♂️
In Aus we call the added on boards on the side of a tipper (truck) “hungry boards”!
