Stumbled across this video, because I'm thinking about moving back home and my child knows very little about Ipswich. Anyway, as a proud ( female) Ipswich town FC I think you forgot to mention that Sir Bobby Robson took Ipswich on to WIN both the FA cup and the EUFA cup. while he was the ITFC manager. The chant of "Bobby Robson'sBlue and white army" was a constant thing at Portman RD. Thanks for your video .

I know that sometimes they lock up cemeteries because they fear someone will vandal the graves, but that's NJ. I love the story of the man struck by lightning. No one else would really remember him but you took the time out to make him special and remembered. That's so cool. More graveyard stories to come I hope. Love those! Thanks for the amazing tour!!

The cat is likely a Manx...great cats. Thanks for the tour! I've traced my family back to 1450AD in Ipswich! So fun to walk through with you!

Knowing you ancestors back to 1450 is fantastic. I can only trace my grandmother back to 1888 but after getting my DNA check my bloodline come from a few places.

Yet another lovely stroll about the town. I loved it. So many interesting things to see, and so good of you to tell us about it too. Looks like the sun was out and a perfect day for a gadabout. Wish I could have joined you.

Great job, was hoping you would mention the 1640 Hart House. My Uncle Angelo used to own it. And had a secret room with a tunnel under ground. Oh well next time. Great video.

There's the Fore Street Swimming Baths (with 6 circular windows) behind you at 6:56 - I nearly drowned there when I was about 7 in 1965!
Great video as well, I've learnt things about my home town I'd no idea of. 👍😊

    Dan, this was under Wikepedia.
Clifford Grey (5 January 1887 - 25 September 1941) was an English songwriter, librettist and actor. His birth name was Percival Davis, and he was also known as Clifford Gray.
Grey contributed prolifically to West End and Broadway shows, as librettist and lyricist for composers including Ivor Novello, Jerome Kern, Howard Talbot, Ivan Caryll and George Gershwin. Among his best-remembered songs are two from early in his career, in 1916: "If You Were the Only Girl (In the World)" and "Another Little Drink Wouldn't Do Us Any Harm". His later hits include "Got a Date with an Angel" and "Spread a Little Happiness".
For 35 years after 1979 it was widely believed that Grey secretly competed as an American bobsleigher, under the name Clifford "Tippy" Gray, in two Winter Olympics, in 1928 and 1932, winning gold medals, but it was finally shown that the sportsman was a different person.

The 'youngest Grade 1 listed building in Britain' is an amazing building by the architect Norman Foster ( same guy who many years later designed The Gherkin) It's beautiful inside and out and very clever in its design. By day it reflects the buildings surrounding it and at night you can see right into it. Please don't just dismiss it so nonchalantly.

It's true. I'm from Ipswich and all I knew was the Ramsey statue...I used to skateboard just next to those ancient houses on silent street. I had no idea that a street of people died from the plague. And I must walked on Lady lane thousands of times to nip round the market, never noticed the Mary shrine

    Nice video 💕
The cemetery is locked because it’s a very rough part of town, lots of druggies around. Plus being a Jewish cemetery you can imagine why it’s not accessible.
Lots of interesting details and like so many other towns it’s just a fraction of what’s actually there 💕
    Thanks for sharing ✌🏻

That tunnel system is a Smugglers tunnel Leads to a pub nearby and was blocked off in the 1700 when it was discovered by soldiers. as for the transport system that you note , well that is absolute Folly that was a April fool's Day joke that someone put on the internet a few year ago and to this day it is still believed we have a subway system for which we do not. Good vid of my home toun.

Your video was very good of Ipswich were i live, i have visited Sir Alf Ramseys grave loads of times, when you visited his grave i think his wife had just died, why they was loads of flowers there, have you ever visited shotley church were they is hundreds of war graves, they is a very big story about why the soldiers are buried there, there boat got sunk at Harwich in the first world war. Another good church yard to visit is playford church as they is some very important people buried there as well.
