    I use my angle grinder with a metal disk blade (no teeth) that has diamond coating on the edge for cutting--- lasts a lot longer than the cheaper disks and safer. Anyway, I can cut shapes with an angle grinder if needed, or just straight. This method with the skill saw looks faster and straighter. I've seen people on job sites use this trick for cutting wrong materials before.
    Nice video.

    Thank you. This saved me from having to buy an expensive "metal" blade. It worked for me quite well. Now all I need, is to find a simple way to cut square holes for electrical outlet boxes... I'm going to look for more videos!
    Edit: Sabre saw, use lipstick on edges of the electrical outlet or light switch box, push the panel into place and it will rough-mark it out from behind. Use a felt tip marker, again from behind to draw the lines to be cut. Voila.

    Dude, thanks for the video. You sure got a smooth cut on that corrugated metal. I have found, however, that cutting steel seamless roofing with the saw blade in the normal position is much smoother and with less shrapnel. I tried it both ways recently using an old carbide-tipped 40 tooth blade and I'm sticking with the blade-forward method (rather than backward). "Different strokes...", as they say. ;)

    That was extremely Quiet I know you turned the blade around but the noise of you moving the tin around was way louder than the saw cut if you don't turn the blade around it's like your ears are almost to the point of Bleeding what blade did you use for this video THANKS 👍🎉

    • @Simplegroundlife
      @Simplegroundlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is unreliable to judge sound volume based on a video. Most microphones in cameras auto adjust depending on environment. The blade didn't make this any less loud. I used an inexpensive non carbide wood cutting blade.

    @Keanu-x7w ปีที่แล้ว

    what happens if you don't turn the blade around?

    • @Simplegroundlife
      @Simplegroundlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not entirely sure what would happen because I haven't tried. I would assume that the blade would try to cut too aggressively causing the saw to bind or jump. It really isn't a good idea to use a wood blade to cut metal without turning it around.

    Isn't this likely to remove the tips from the blade. They are only braised on and reversing the blade may eventually have the tungsten tips come off at high speed.

    • @Simplegroundlife
      @Simplegroundlife  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Colin Riley You make a really good point, it has been a long time since I have made the video so I don't remember if I mentioned it. I'm using and old blade that doesn't have any tungsten tips.
      A tungsten blade would be a bad choice for this job no matter how you spin it.
