The most busy runabout in the USSR, 120 000 pedestrians, 60 000 tramway users and 100 motorists per day.

You can't show a roundabout without mentioning that Nu Pogodi episode with the wolf and the motorcycle

Finally ... I saw that roundabout in our Cinema video and loved it. 👍
Watched it on google maps and tried to find some more infos on it. There wasnt too much, at least not in english.

While the US has more impressive road spaghetti I really appreciate that its 3 different traffic systems and each is straight forward to use.

This is way more advanced in terms of city planning than anything in most US cities, especially in 1970. The US still designs cities for cars, not people. This reminds me of Walt Disney's plans for a utopian settlement, where cars would occupy one level, people another, and public transit yet another.

Well, those trams are not made by Skoda, but by Tatra. This specific type is Tatra T3(developed in 1960s), and in some cities, even here in Prague(but also Liberec, Most, Litvínov, Ostrava, Brno...) Czech Republic area you can find a slightly modified verisons of them(different speedcontrolers, with lowered middle to accomodate handicaped). They are indestructible, they are able to work in mountanous towns(Liberec, Jablonec uppon Nisa), I am not certain, but they are powered by 750V DC(80kW per carrige).
Around 14 000 of them were made.

That's right those are Tatras. Thank you

All the comforts of a concrete hellscape car-first city without the actual cars

Wow that's pretty awesome actually, there is a strong resemblance to the roundabout and exit ramps coming in I-10 at Airline Highway in Metarie just outside of New Orleans Louisiana on the Jefferson Parish side. Main difference I see here is it looks like it's a little more spread out where is the one in Louisiana is somewhat elevated in terms of the road access from Airline Highway getting up on the I-10.

Probably one of the most accident-prone places in Kyiv, I see accidents here almost every day due to poor traffic organization and drivers' misunderstanding of traffic rules on the roundabout.

The UK has the "magic Roundabout" and the soviet union has the empty Roundabout.

Phew, that was long and boring... Almost like gettig stuck in that roudabout! Thanks for mentioning Hnat Yura, tose are some classic 30's Soviet films he acted in.
Think I might try find a subtexted upload of Ivan Kavaleridze's Prometheus - Прометей (1936) - You know, I haven't watched ANY Soviet or Russia/Belarusian films or miniseries on here since February 2022.

I am interested is how religion was perceived and practiced in both Kiev and your ancestral village. I know you are not a religious person, what were your observations?

When you speak of trams based on the video I'm assuming you're actually talking about wheeled buses not something that's locked onto a dedicated rail line.

I really like the urban planning of the soviets. It's cool what you can do when cars aren't the focus.
just wondering if you have heard of the video game workers and resources soviet republic? is soviet themed city builder. I like to hear your thoughts on it for the realism of the building's vehicles ect. th-cam.com/video/bJQC-DkmgXg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8dcQOy8qonTg67K_

Honestly, the Soviet version of the grocery store look a lot cooler. The modern version looks like it has a bunch of advertisement slapped on it like it’s a bunch of tumors, but I know you gotta advertise as a fellow capitalist, I can also say the same for your movie theater, but hey, I can go in there and see the newest Deadpool and Wolverine movie
