So glad it's helpful! Yes, rolling to the elbow will help. Also, keep the straight leg active and straight - drive through the heel of the straight leg and point your toes towards your nose. This creates tension in that leg and glute, which also helps with the leg flop 😊 Check out this video for an explanation: th-cam.com/video/I5EM7vy9e58/w-d-xo.html The getup is one of those things where, when you're first learning it, you're like "Why all the steps??" 🤷♀️ But when you learn the key principles and you understand what makes each position strong and effective, they're one of the best full-body movements out there. Our relationship to the getup has to be a long-term love-affair, not a fling 😉 Keep up the awesome work!!
Man there are SO MANY things to keep in mind when it comes to proper form. I'm exhausted just watching this video. Its a great video and I need to relearn the getup.
Hey Enrique, aw, thanks for watching! 🙏 Yes, I remember when I first learned the get-up years ago, I was like "Why so many steps??" It's one of those things that goes from being complex/confusing/frustrating to being meditative/calming/satisfying, once you get the hang of it. Keep practicing, and just pick one tip or one step to work on each time. You'll crush it! 💪
@@CatChau Thank you yes I must look at this as practice and not look to push more weight. The first step in this exercise, getting up onto the shoulder can easily affect your neck and shoulder badly if you're not using the glutes
Yay, so glad it's helpful! Keep up the super strong work 💪 I love that you train getups, and kettlebells in general! LMK what other movements you want to learn more about and we'll totally make a tutorial for you 👍

Love it. Rolling instead of sitting should stop me from flopping like a fish!
