@8:30- Went to cardshq the other day here in ATL. Beautiful shop, had good deals too. Sold some baseball cards, the buyer was cool but said he had little knowledge on baseball. I appreciated his honesty, we came to nice deal, good overall experience. Thanks for the great footage jabs.
I think the technical term for the printing error on the Robinson rookie is "off-register". When the colors line up well it is "good color registration". I have a 68 Clemente with the same problem I've been trying to upgrade.
I was a press operator for many years and That Jackie Robinson with the blemish on his face is a printing error when the printing plates aren't correctly lined up "registration" while the print run is going. Each plate is a different color black, cyan, magenta, and yellow are the front plates and black was on the back.
I swear these shows are more like dealers going to show off their rare cards rather than their being serious about selling them. And if they just had to part with something, it'll cost you at least 10% over ebay comps for that honor. I'm pretty sure they are all rather rich folk who don't really need to sell their cards, but still it's so eyewatering to see booths with at least a million dollars worth of cards and not their not wanting to cash out on them. I'd be slashing them out and planning to retire and live on easy street for the rest of my life instead of hoarding onto them forever and hoping to trick some fool to pay 10%+ over comps.
This is what I learned quickly. Very stern and joyless salespeople who are firm on everything despite comps. The collectors with smaller tables or spaces are usually cooler.
I’m happy to say I have 2 in person autographs from that wild list of stars. Randy Quaid back in ‘98 at the AT&T Pro Am golf tournament at Pebble Beach and Steve Garvey who signed a Padres spring training program in Yuma AZ for my grandmother back in the 80’s. Still have both. Both are great guys. Nice to see Randy out there mixing it up at events like this.
Really like that 59 Topps...great value. Some of the prices were ridiculous. You didn't turn down anything that was worth it...and the expectation you were carrying that much cash is insane.
The ‘48/49 leaf is almost like a lithograph with the printing, so you gotta watch for the print lines or ghosting. I picked up a beautiful Spahn today!
Cool video, I also liked the one from the next day with the three boxes of retro boxes. As an influencer, did you have people take picks and did you sign autos? I'd legit go up to you and the misses for a selfie, but at the same time, too shy to.
@JabsFamily “Jared Jones Rainbow 🌈” I just sold mine on eBay a few days ago. I wish I had known you we’re looking? Maybe you say it on eBay I dunno. Anyway, I can put you in touch with the fella who bought them if you wanted to see if he was willing to sell or not? The reason I even knew about the cards a decided to go for the set was because I saw your review and break of 2021 Pro Debut. Otherwise I’d have never even known about their 91 throwback subset. So thank you for that!
Literally work on Eastland Rd which is across from the IX Center. It’s been so fun going there after work. I’d say my Ohio State collection is getting pretty ridiculous at this point.
How many times have you said make a list and stick to it? 😂 Love the ‘59 Topps set, but with the condition of the Gibson RC, probably would have passed on it.
Why so many penny pinchers I thought it's about the hobby and sharing but obviously not! Eric you did good with your prices and they're a fool for turning down your prices.
I couldn't imagine someone offering me 15 grand on any card and me passing on it. Sucks being poor 🤣🤣

I swear 😂😂 its like they not tryna sell anything just showing off

I hope more people talk about how dealers are selling cards overpriced. Do not buy unless you check recent sold prices.
Hey Jabs, loved your video recap of the National. Very informative. One of the better ones so far. Great pick ups too.
Those offset print layers are very common in the '48 Leaf sets. I'm with you. It would bother the heck out of me.

Love seeing all the incredible vintage! Great pick ups!
Thanks for doing this video. I knew that cards are going to be up their but didn't know it's going to be super crazy high.
I own the 1955 Bowman set. It's one of my prized possessions
Man, I knew I should have picked up the Jared Jones BC 1st Gold auto for you that I saw. I'll see if I can find it again tomorrow!
That would be a good video of your top 25 in your collection
Nice video. I spotted who I think is the Card Father (Rob Veres, Burbank Card Shop owner) at 6:13 on the right
Could you get the cards graded at the nationals?
Nice pickups,Jabs..
Yes you can!
Sweet sweet sweet pick ups. Love the Aaron!!!

awesome video love the pickups
48 Leaf is notorious for print variations
Spent 10,000 wow..I spent 40 on a blaster box.,and now I’m poor..price of cards has gotten out of hand that I’m no longer collecting..really sad
Congrats on the purchase
I went Wednesday 4-8 thank goodness went back Thursday place was swamped left early will be posting my pick ups soon
Cool video, I also liked the one from the next day with the three boxes of retro boxes.

Probably a dozen photos each day. I’m always humbled when someone asks.
Thanks for sharing
Hey Jabs, I just pulled a Radiating Rookie Autograph of Jackson Chourio. Should I get it graded by PSA or SGC
Is the 59 set all white back, or is there Grey backs as well?
Them prices are crazy
Why would you spend 12K on a card? Will the price go up as an investment or you just do it to collect?
Hank Aaron rookie! Very awesome pickup! Enjoyed the video!
Congrats on the pickups. Nice 55 Bowman & 59 Topps sets
Ugh i love the content as always. It pains me to know that those sets are going to be broken up, though. 😢
Cool set pick-ups!

Would've been neat for someone to pull your card and asked you to sign it😊
Literally work on Eastland Rd which is across from the IX Center. It’s been so fun going there after work. I’d say my Ohio State collection is getting pretty ridiculous at this point.
Congrats on the Aaron
Hope you go back today and make the exact same offers and maybe they'll bite since it's last day 🤞🏻
I would have got Thomas error. The Bush price is crazy I wouldn't pay no where near that I don't know the value of it now.
Was the Aaron a new lighthouse psa label or an older one? The price tag was blocking it
Yes, has the “fugitive ink technology” as well.
Why do you buy these old sets just to break them up?
91 Fleer for LC...
Jabs if you where still looking for 84 donruss boxes Dave and Adams has them for 650 bbce sealed
It was all of the people in the what not breakers bowl
I'm not even mad. That's amazing.
How many times have you said make a list and stick to it? 😂 Love the ‘59 Topps set, but with the condition of the Gibson RC, probably would have passed on it.
I have never seen anyone get a deal at the national lol
$20k for a superfractor of a dude who hasn't done a thing except get sent back to AAA is absolutely wild.
There's no way Jon will pay that for the no-name-on-front when he's got the far superior all-name-on-front variant 😀😀
I heard that some of the trash cans are full of commons.
I went to the national and all I came back with was a Randy Quaid signed baseball
Let's be real, that's the only thing you need in this life. You came away a winner.
Thats sad splitting the complete sets 😢
3:16....1933 Goudey Babe Ruth with the red back-drop.🤤🤤🤤🤤
I find the prospect of going to the National very boring
Hi is there anyway for you to slow the video down I have the 51 mantle and wanted to know the grade number
You can slow down the video. Click the gear and choose 0.5 speed
Nice pickups
yea the george bush card is rarer than the nnof frank thomas. only about 100 were produced
Please do a pc video that would be awesome
You should have sold your world’s greatest pack search mark Grace redemption
Future beanie babies
Man, economy is so bad that (10's of ?) thousands can plunk down/exchange multiples in millions on...paper.
Yep...times is a bad.
Why so many penny pinchers I thought it's about the hobby and sharing but obviously not! Eric you did good with your prices and they're a fool for turning down your prices.
Nice job
congratulations on spending money, i guess.
Do a pc case
cool
I like the Aaron
