You better put a layer of air filter sheet/foam on the casing walls that have input flows. And also if you have time to dremmel the back of your casing so your fan can stay inside.
At fist i didnt like the look of the case but the air flow is top tier. Lian li really on its case game this year. Few months ago the dan a3 and now this. Another great build mr matt!
I started planning my own PC build a year ago. Then I found this channel. I subscribed after 3 minutes. The work put into the content is incredibly enjoying. I simply love and appreciate the work behind it. always and always new and new ideas are born. It's art. Thanks for the content and work. You are the goat of PC building Matt. Keep it up.
My Lancool 216 has this. I have a Noctua A12x25 fan pulling air from the 4090 FE's rear exhaust. I don't really have any statistics for myself, but from what I've read/watched and feeling the heat behind it, it works pretty well!
@@TekTakeson a regular case; Yes, it won't work. But, with this case; it works well. Didn't you watch the airflow visualization on this video? Did any of those smoke go back in the rear fan? The fan on the side of the case made sure those heat/smoke does not go back in the case.
@@TekTakes Hot air out the backside (lol) 90 degree turn to the rear fan which is a total of about a foot distance, don't think the air will mix unless the pc is in a box.
Some cringe comments in here but excellent video as always my dude! The CPU and GPU having their own circuits is awesome. My main criticisms of the case after reading the valid comments would be the following: 1. The ugly GPU riser cable 2. The USB outputs and left sided glass panel force you into placing the case on the right side of your desk, if your desk is also in a corner as mine is, this could block off some exhaust 3. Not enough airflow over the Mobo, just that single 120 fan in the back
I like the fact how we can finally see the full layout of the motherboard without the card getting in the way. Problem with this setup is that if you're sitting to the right side of the case then you're gonna be showered with all that heat...lol
I was originally conflicted about the fan mounted to the rear of the case but the USB drive sticking out helped rationalize that it really doesn't stick out any more than the normal periphery. thanks for that detail!
Lian Li seems to dominate the PC case market. These videos never get old, and I didn't know that the RTX 4080 Super would just as big as the RTX 4080. Great job, @Mr_Matt_Lee greetings from India!
Great video and build, but I don't agree about the choice to use this particular motherboard only. This case is specifically designed to be used with a mobo that has back connectors, and would have been very interesting to see a build process like that...
Great video, like allways. Interesting concept...probably the direct fresh air in the Gpu is a great thing....the case seams compact , what i personaly like. Myb the only small thing i dont like is the exteranl exhaust fan. Thx Matt, continue like this👍👍
@@SniperPFLthe rear fan is unfiltered, and it is the only unrestricted intake. The other intake is the GPU, which is restricted by the GPU heatsink. There is no way this has positive pressure. This case will indeed be a dust nightmare, but I suspect the cooling is adequate
Don't your think it would be a better idea to do intake for AIO so radiator gets cool air directly from outside instead warm air from inside and GPU. For 7800x3d it probably doesn't matter cuz it's a super cool CPU anyways but for monsters like 14900 I think it would make sense. Thanks 🙏
The AIO doesn’t intake the Gpu air, that’s what the 3x120 exhaust is for, to get rid of the GPU hot air. The AIO intakes from the back of the case, and as you can see from the visualization, it’s getting plenty of airflow
Interesting airflow... intakes through the GPU and a single fan externally mounted on the back... exhaust through the AIO and an additional 3 fans mounted behind the MB. I mean, I can see by the visualization that it is indeed exhausting the air, but I don't know... can't wrap my head around it. Definitely an interesting concept, though.
Are there any issues with motherboard cooling on this board? The airflow visual almost made it seem like barely any air even with the rear intake passed over the board. Just immediately got sucked to the back. Also does that rear fan bracket fit a 30mm fan like the T30? I'd also love to know if the Lian Li Hydroshift could be adjusted to work with this design since it's default out of the box config might not be long enough. Maybe undo one management bracket.
I was waiting for this one! There is so much potential in this case meta, and I can’t wait for them to make a V2. The airflow pattern is weird to say the least, and I can see some problems occurring if it’s parked too close to a wall. But is it worth it for the high mid tower design aesthetic? Time will tell.
Wow this is such a clean build! Another banger from Matt as always. Never though the gpu is used as the intake, another unique thing comes from Lian li! But what about the thermal of the cpu? It feels a little... out of place for me seeing that only one fan acts as the intake toward the motherboard 😳
@Mr_Matt_Lee, thank you for all of the comp build videos you do. I have a question, do you ever do giveaways with these builds or are these builds for friends, family, and or fans of your channel?
I have a question, did you turn up the speed on the fans on the GPU to get it to work better as an intake? And I like the write up on the build. Would be cool if you could do this "ASMR" and one where you maybe do a voiceover explaining things.
Excellent video. I'm considering this case to move into a little more compact set up. I'm a little concerned about fitment of multiple cables to my GPU, though. I run 3 displayport cables with my set up - do you think there is enough room to make that happen?
In case anyone in the future is wondering it is totally feasible to run 3 or 4 cables through this case to your GPU, it's just a little bit fiddly to do.
7:03 - 3x outtake fans next to the water cooling steal all the air. 8:03 - The cool air goes through the front and turns into hot air right away from the GPU, then gets drawn out. 8:14 - Draw air from the side panel... we should have a window there, right? Major issue: Only 1 cool air intake from the rear (or the 3 fans from the water cooling may also draw from the rear but very weakly... I don't think the video shows much on that part). I really don't see how the water cooling draws air (and it's useless for an RGB water cooling system because it's all hidden). Also, the PCI-E extended cable is just too long... when the motherboard is designed, it should be as close to the CPU socket as possible. I would never go for this kind of build.
None of what you said is an issue. 360 AIO will provide plenty of cooling, and you can see with his visualization that there is tons of exhaust out the radiator, which can only mean the intake (which is through the rear panel of the case, not the side) is great as well. Biggest issue is that the motherboard doesn’t have direct air flow over it, bad for VRM and chipset cooling. I suppose that little 120 mm in the back is doing something, but it’s also unfiltered, probably pulls in tons of dust from behind your desk
Kinda on the fence with this case nice build though I think I would like this case with a project zero or other back connect motherboard since theres no graphics card in front of mobo to hide cables with this setup
It looks kinda.... wierd. Nonthless it looks awesome. It reminds me a bit of the SSUPD Meshlicious S. Both are more vertical than horizontal, both have their GPU "standing" and both have a tempered glas panel. Especially when you put back the front and top cover.
