You didn’t even discuss how injured the lions were coming into this game how many starters were out and how many players they lost throughout the game and still got it done. The interior rush by Detroit was incredible and Alim McNeil and Reeder crashed the pocket 10 times throughout the game.
Lol nice to see a lions fan making an excuse for a good win lol. Facts are like your own head coach said every NFL team is injured. I can assure you the Colts are more injured in key positions then the lions before and during the game.. the colts had 3 rookies who aren't starters on the oline due to injuries alone also plus our starting vet RT has been playing injured all season and that only leaves Big Q who may or may not be injured lol and you all still got zero sacks.. Now let's look at the Colts Defensive staters missing Due to injuries; We are missing our starting DE Samson Ebukam a big sack and pressure guy, Tyquan just got back from injury this game, our former starting LB 3 injured, are starting Corner is injured for the season.. we have a guy from a practice squad and 7th rounder out there lol and one safeties young and great and the other maybe injured playing because he's not playing up to the standard we know he can.. but maybe it's just not thrown his way much who knows.. but that's just to list a few. Your biggest loss as a lions fan is Hutchinson it's not even close and maybe the LB.

They take into account actual points instead of just stat collection styles example AR had more explosive passes, called back or not they were completed which the Box score won't show if they were called back in the amount of 96 yards add that to his stat line and it looks different for AR, also multiple pass catchers dropped balls which counter your box scores completion percentage in a negative way leading to schewed numbers making you look like you can't complete a pass which is not true had they been caught by the people payed to catch. Furthermore AR also threw a TD to TE drew Ogletree which he dropped Jared Goff on the other hand was strip sacked fumbled, and sacked 3 times AR was not sacked and only fumbled once getting his own fumbles back. Also Goff never threw a single TD nothing he threw was even close to a TD. He did however have a better completion percentage because his receivers caught everything they could but the RBs are what won Goff this game and what allowed the colts to even attempt to score was ARs arm and rushing ability other then that due to the Colts poor run blocking our rushing outside of AR was not good. That's part of why AR ranked higher. Watch the all 22 tape of the full game of you know how to evaluate properly and you'll see..
Why do they assume those plays still happen without committing the penalties and not that they happened because they committed a holding penalty to allow for those big plays to develop?
Lions were never threatened in this game. The game was not closer than the score indicated. Lions could have blown them out. Colts were one dimensional and AR could not score in the red zone. Colts not only didn't score a touchdown but couldn't score a single point in the 2nd half. All Detroit had to do was pound the rock and run out the clock.
there were countless big plays that were called by for penalties some which were very questionable. There was also a touchdown and a big play dropped when the ball was placed the the colts players chest. If the colts covert those touchdowns without the little mistakes and numerous penalties this game would have been very close
None of you mention the array of starters injured on the defensive side of the Lions. The Lions have so much depth and determination they just don’t let up.
What they mean is that for people that didn't watch the game only look at the score it was more because the colts beat themselves & not because the Lions dominated them
@JasonLovell-pv8ed huh? The Lions very much dominated. The Lions front stopped the Colts run game, and made them one dimensional. The Lions offense possessed the ball and dominated T.O.P. and scored in the Red Zone.
@michaelwagner7445 I get what you're saying, but the colts hurt themselves with penalties, they had at least 5 plays of 20+ yards called back cuz of stupid penalties & those were drive killers, olgeltree dropping a wide open td pass, Mitchell not getting his feet inbound on that big 40 yard pass, it was all the little stupid stuff that colts did wrong that made the score look it was just a dominant win by the Lions when that wasn't actually the case
@@JasonLovell-pv8edagree to disagree I guess. The penalties happened because of the Lions pressure. Multiple times there were big plays that only happened because of a blatant hold. But to act like drops don't happen is odd...turns out worse players drop passes and struggle in pass protection
I am getting REALLY tired of people saying that the “Coltshad these big plays that were (somehow) negated by penalties.” I’m sorry, the last time I checked, it took all 11 guys to do their jobs to make any play in the NFL. If there was a penalty, they didn’t have a “big play that was somehow negated;” they had a penalty. Period. Grading AR higher than Goff factoring in penalty plays is idiotic considering if there's no penalty those plays are likely sacks/pressures/QB hits but i wouldn't expect nuance from the people who disliked the Gibbs pick at 12.
5:00 the thing about your yardage lost--which is a good point--due to the penalties is that you got to ask, would they have gotten those yards if the Colts hadn't held or whatever it was that they had done?
How is McNeil not a high graded Lion? AR getting a higher grade than Goff? I get that Goff didn’t have a typical Goff game - no TD passes, missed a few throws, but AR was less than 50% completions rate. It’s no wonder many have zero faith in PFF grades.
It was closer than the scoreboard would suggest? When you go into another stadium and hold a team to two field goals while scoring 3 touchdowns and a fg... yea thst was a real nail biter... whatever bothers us not...😂
Big chunk plays negated by penalties is what the Lions have dealt with for 28 of the last 30 years. Finally they are on the other end of that situation. Go lions!
Kind of an aside, but the Lions saw enough from Hendon Hooker to go with him as the only rostered backup QB because he's mobile and would add value to the running game (as absurd as that sounds, lol) should the unthinkable happen to Goff. Of course, the way the Lions develop their talent, who would be surprised if Hooker didn't come in and kill it right away, lol..
