Sachin was ahead of his time. His class was unmatchable. Modern generation who essentially compares stats won't understand the greatness of Sachin. Not to forget that he was a genius bowler too. He underbowled in his career.
That is over estimation ofcourse he was a generational talent. There are no mistakes for modern day greats that they didnt play in era before. If you think era defines greatness than Sunil gavaskar/Javed Miandad were the greatest Asian batters. So, Virat Kohli has now conquered Sachin ODIs score and he will continue achieving more and more.
When it comes Chasing/Pressure conditions/Winning matches VK is un-matchable talent. Ofcourse senior players gives a platform as Sunny gave to Sachin and he gave to Virat. But remember this is mostly the rule the coming generation is better than current and precious generation.

I watched live this match when Sachin hit 4 sixes against Quadir. This was an exhibition match in pakistan, when rain delayed the regular match. This innings of Sachin made him noted as an aggressive batsman. I was studying 9th standard that time.

Don't make a joke on his English. It's just a language. Respect him for what he is. I'm an Indian and it doesn't make me proud if I find a Pakistani speaking wrong English.

Abdul Qadir either has a bad memory or a selective memory. I for one remember watching this game and this is the game when I turned my back on Sunil Gavaskar and Vivian Richards as the best batsmen for me. Let me tell you how I heard the commentary and saw it on TV. Ifthekar Ahmed, the Pakistani commentator (who puts kajal on his eyes and eyebrows) was commentating. Mustaq Ahmed was bowling and Sachin hit him for four sixes in the over. The commentator said and I am paraphrasing here, "I am sure Imran Khan will bring on Abdul Qadir in place of Mustaq and let's see if Sachin can do the same." When Abdul Qadir came on, Sachin hit him for four sixes as well and Ifthekar Ahmed admitted that he was seeing one of the great batsmen in the making. I cannot forget those moments, it is etched in my memory forever. From that day onwards Sunil Gavaskar and Vivian Richards who up until then used to be my favourite batsmen, dropped out of contention. I have followed Sachin's career since then and boy, what a career it has been. I am previledged to have been born in the era of Sachin Tendulkar.

Venky I don't know your age, but I can tell you that I have seen Richard's and Tendukkar and Gavaskar. While Richard's is an attacking batsman he is unable to play defense when the game needs it. Gavaskar on the other had had a very sound defense but struggled to force the pace. Sachin in my opinion is the complete batsman because he played both styles equally well. Correct me if I am wrong. I agree that Sachins legacy is somewhat tarnished by him extending g his career past the 2011 World Cup.
