I am traveling from Rangoon to JFK (New York)! And my transit is Bangkok where I have a connection flight to a different airline. I am informed that I do not need to claim the baggage and the airlines have baggage check-through and the layover time is 6 hrs. Can you please suggest where I should stay at the airport after arrival and where I should go for transit (transfer) check-in when the counter opens?

@@DodyFebriarto yes I do have but then because I don’t have any luggages to check in again, I don’t need to go for immigration right in Bangkok? Basically it’s just personal check in and getting boarding pass and then go to boarding gate, right?
@@Jaspervlogg If you informed that airline will handle your luggage when transit, then I think you will have 2 boarding pass. So you just pass through transit gate and no need to check in.

Oh no. I'm actually worried about this. Travelling to Chiang Rai via Thai Airways and when i searched for flights, they gave one with only 1hr 15mins time difference between my ETA in BKK and ETD for CEI. Haven't booked it yet but inclined to since it's the fastest (the other options are more than 15hrs long flights). 😟 SQ flights are even longer and more expensive.

1hr 45m is enough for transit. Don't worry if you have connecting flight with same Airlines .

At the end when you got there it just said gate open... so you actually had plenty of time to relax before boarding!

Yes you can show your mobile boarding pass..but to be sure you can print it.
Hi Dody! I will transit in Bangkok as well and will have 1,5 hrs time, flying with the same airline so don't need to check in baggage again. I read something about a healthcare insurance proof, did you have to show this as well? And if so, what do they expect? Best, Anne
No, I did not. I just show my passport and boarding pass when in transit gate.
Hi. May i ask how was your experience? My case will be the same if I push thru with the flight to Chiang Rai that Thai Airways is suggesting. I will have only 1hr 15mins between my ETA in BKK and ETD for CEI. Thai Airways staff said that it's enough time and that i can check through my baggage so i will just need to proceed to the boarding gate. Problem is Suvarnabhumi Airport is huge! 😩

2 hours is enough as long as your flight from qatar arrive on time, may be the bottleneck is at immigration. But hopefully is not long queue.

I will also be travelling from this airport soon and when i reach bangkok from Bhutan i will be having connecting flight from Bangkok to Narita(Tokyo) and its totally different airling one is Druk Air till bangkok and one is Thai Airlines from bangkok to Narita and my waiting time is only 3 hours so do i have to go to transit counter or do inhave to checkin one again from deparure area to get boarding pass.
Hi, for fast transit I suggest you to web check in and print boarding pass for second flight .If you don't have baggage to claim then you can directly to transit gate as I do. But if you have baggage to clam then you will need to pass immigration gate .

If you will collect your baggage then you need to pass immigration. After that drop your bag to your next flight counter.

If you already have boarding pass for next fllight, you don't have baggage and you just stay at airport, then you don't need visa.

Waktu transit di Svarnabhumi airport minimal sekitar 45 menit - jadi kalau delay ya max 45 menit - tapi jangan khawatir kalau pesawat sama biasanya ada solusinya kalau delay penerbangan pertama.

Kalau pake airline yg sama, biasanya sdh dapat 2 boarding pass.. jadi gak perlu check in dan bagasi sdh lamgsung diambil di airport tujuan

Saat transit, bawa semua bawaan kabin , nanti kita hanya lewat security check utk passport dan boarding pass next flight. Bagasi? Nanti diambil di airport tujuan, Thai sdh handle.

What is your airlines? If you fly with same airlines then you don't need to pick up your luggagr in Bangkok. And if you stay in airport you don't need visa.

I'm afraid you need to pass immigration to pick up your luggage in Bangkok and then drop in again for your flight to Vientiane. Please call air asia to make sure. But, don't worry if you Filipino then as ASEAN citizen you don't need visa to enter Thailand.

Pertanyaan nya apakah dengan waktu 40-50menit saya itu cukup untuk transit ? Saya bisa lari dan tidak bawa koper hanya tas hand carry 7kg.
Setelah tiba di Thailand lalu keluar dari pesawat. Butuh berapa menit ? Berapa meter jaraknya?
Kasusnya sama dengan saya bang.. asal jalan cepat dan berapa lamanya tergantung gate kedatangan - lantai 2 dan keberangkatan lantai 3 bang.. semoga penerbangan dari jakarya tidak terlambat. Dan tips kecil coba request ke pramugari agar dibantu fast transit ini .. semoga perjalanannya menyenangkan bang.

If you stay in airport during your transit and you have check in and get boarding pass for your flight to Vientiane then you don't need visa 😀 btw, if you Indonesian as ASEAN country you still no need visa even though you will go to city tour.

Yes, Thai will handle your luggage so you willl pick up at Vietnam.. You will go through security check for Passport and boarding pass.. no need Visa

Tidak perlu visa di Thailand kak, Tidak saja tansit, kita ke keluar airport juga kita bebas visa sebagai sesama negara Asean.

You will need transit visa if you have baggage and need to claim at Bangkok. If you don't have baggage, please online check in and print boarding past for second flight and also stay at airport then you don't need visa

Your transfer time is very tight for international to domestic transit and ypu booked on separatr ticket. The normal process when you transit is you will proceed through immigration and security screening and enter the domestic side of the terminal. Claim your baggage then check in and drop baggage to Thai Smile.. Please ask transfer desk Thai Smile if possible to shortcut process.
Thanks for your reply. The Thai smile ticket is also booked directly by EVA air assuming that lugguage all wil be taken care of and its labeled so all goes directly straight thru. Aswell EVA as Thai Smile are confirmed. I will call them to be sure. Thank you.

@@DodyFebriarto a.little update. It even got better i think. EVA nd Thai airways work together so that makes it easier. My luggage was labeled. As a first timer it began with EVA had a delay for more then 1,5 hours. So i would miss my connect flight so now what ? The flight was in my opinion very good, everything was perfect taken care off. So then i landed 1,5 hour later in Bangkok and i was already trying to imagine what i had to do. And that was nothing!! A nice lady was already waiting for me at the entrancedoor of the airport and redirect me to the servicecounter of Bangkok airways where my new boardingcard already was waiting for the next flight to Chiang Mai. So 3 hours later i was flying the last part to Chiang Mai. Perfect arranged in my opinion by EVA Air. In Chiang Mai was.already my luggage waiting. So after all easier as I could think of.
Is there a transfer desk of Thai Airways/Thai Smile before you pass the security control in transit?

Yes, you will get 2 boarding pass when you check in.. so no need to visit transit desk

I have a flight from Phuket to Bangkok which will land at suvarnabhumi at 18:35. Then I have another flight from suvarnabhumi to India (my home country) at 22:10. Both are on different tickets and not connecting flight. How should I proceed? Can I go from arrival to departure internally? Where should I get my boarding pass? How much time required to collect my check in baggage after I arrive from phuket? Will it be too hurry? Please reply. 🙏
Hi, firstly I suggest you already do web check-in and print your all boarding pass . Second, if you don't have baggage to claim then you need to go domestic arrival and then goto international terminal to pass through immigration gate. But if you need to collect baggage then you need additional time around 30 minutes. As long your first flight from Phuket on time then you will have enough time to transit.
@@DodyFebriarto should I exit the arrival after reaching from Phuket, re enter through the main departure hall. Or can I go internally from arrival floor to departure floor ?
@@dihang1116 you need to exit arrival to collect baggage and I think you need to pass immigration in svarnabhumi, since Phuket - Bangkok is domestic flight.

I also have a Thai Airways flight from Lahore to Indonesia, with a layover in Bangkok of 3 hours 40 mins. Both flights are Thai Airways flights. Will the local immigration or the Thai airways or Thai immigration create a problem if you only have the Indonesia visa, and not a Thai tourist or transit visa? I just want to catch my connecting flight, I have no interest in Thailand.

Hi Dody, i will be transiting at his airport in july and from Krabi going to tokyo. but its two different airline, thai airways and thai air asia (to tokyo). Do i need to have a printed boarding pass already before i board the flight to tokyo or will it be provided at one of the transit point in the airport? I have 2.5 hours for the transit and i will be reaching the airport at 21.30. Do you think it will be enough time ?
Hi Nikhil, I suggest you to check in dan printed your boarding pass for Thai Air Asia at Krabi. 2,5 hours is enough to transit at Bangkok.
Isn't Airasia operating from Don Muang ? If so, it's a different airport.
