When you fall in show jumping or cross country you have way less chance to get serious injuries and die. Horses are also abused way more in racing sport rather than in other ones. And, tbh, every sport is dangerous if you look at it.

    • @Oswald_Thatendswald
      @Oswald_Thatendswald 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rosamunddrag8971 Everything you just said was so wrong. You cannot tell me with a straight face that jumping 6-8 foot hurdles over and over again is somehow more natural than flat out running, and doesn't cause damage to their joints, legs and heart. Running is natural too lol. A horse can easily have a rotational fall head first over a jump and crush their rider and kill them instantly. It happens all the time.
      And there's no evidence to suggest horses are "abused" more often in horse racing, either. Horse racing actually drug tests their horses unlike show jumping and cross country. Those other sports also aren't required to keep track of breakdowns and deaths at their events so really they have much more potential to abuse the horses and face zero consequences. Bit hypocritical for you to you use the logic of "all sports are dangerous tbh" when talking about jumping but not racing.

      @@Oswald_Thatendswald. There is a lot more cases of horses being put up on a race straight after horrible injuries in racing. They have their legs broken, muscles damaged. Im show jumping, cross country and dressage I see a lot more careful and loving riders that care about their horses like their friends. I can see that racing is only about money and high risks with almost no pay off at all. I don't think you ever saw a horse damaged by racing. One of horses in my stable don't have a leg because if his racing career. He could've been put down if not for kind people who gave him a chance to live. At least 30 horses die in racing each year, not many die in other discipliness if you'll look at the statistics.

    • @Oswald_Thatendswald
      @Oswald_Thatendswald 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rosamunddrag8971 there's no accurate statistics that shows how many horses actually die in those other disciplines, so there's no way to even know if more horses die in those sports or not. Nobody keeps track of it! So there's no way you can even say "more horses die in horse racing" with such certainty. I do happen to know that they are injured just as easily in show jumping, barrel racing and cross country so there's no reason to believe they don't die just as often too.
      And again there's no evidence to suggest that race horse owners don't love their horses every bit as much as people who ride other disciplines. To even think that is just ignorant tbh. I don't think you know many people who own race horses. I knew a lady who had a horse that cut his leg in his stall one night and it wouldn't heal and he went down 2 weeks later and had to be euthanized. Horses hurt themselves all the time regardless of intense athleticism.
      I don't think any of these sports should be banned, but I'm sorry its ludacris for you to say horse racing should be banned because its dangerous but you're totally fine with things like Burghley horse trials. How are those events *not* high risk with almost no payoff? And didn't one of the girls in the Olympic dressage punch her horse during competition a few weeks ago?? I mean come on. You are exaggerating one sport, and downplaying the other because you participate in the latter. I'm not saying you're complicit of abuse for doing show jumping. I don't blame you for sticking up for what you do and I'm sure you treat your horses like royalty. I'm just saying if you're gonna have opinions about equestrian sports being dangerous then at least be consistent across the board.

    Jerry Bailey should be taken off the air immediately.
    Time and time again he defends the errant jockeys despite their flaws.
    This was one only one such race race!
    Everyone including The other expert Randy. Moss and stewards took down the horse for cutting in and interfering!
    Is Bailey blind or compromised?
    He should be shown exit door immediately
    He is not a straight shooter!

      Agreed - both riders could have been disqualified as MB had no place to go and had to pull up. Rough fall for both horse and rider. Interestingly the female commentator seemed to be worried about the horse than the rider.

      Yes but Hot Rod Charlie came in more than Mandaloun came out. So the fault went to the jockey on HRC

    Should've kept Talamo back on Midnight. @:36 Paco did the same thing first and Prat skillfully avoided being squeezed in. Then at the 1/4 pole, Paco tried to bust a Maximum Security move and force Hot Rod out and Mandaloun kinda squeezed him out too... Just all bad by Paco... Just saying

      @@anthonya2349 VERY clueless...wasnt really anyone's fault. Hot Rod has been a HANGER who's only win this year was wire to wire in the Louisiana derby. He is still learning how to pass horses in the stretch correctly,something that is not easy to do for some horses. This was a great(but near tragic) schooling race for Hot Rod...
