Description of Dirge
Dirge is a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Dirge is a master at using fear as a weapon. Sad, brooding and silent, his demeanor makes even close comrades like Ramjet shiver.
Dirge actively cultivates this atmosphere; his engines are even tuned to instill fear in everyone who hears them.
Few realize, however, that this need to instill fear is part of an overwhelming need for control over their own situation. If things get out of hand, Dirge falls prey to a crippling fear and his usefulness as a warrior disappears.
However, those who know Dirge realize that his melancholy and cowardice are indicators that he was never cut out for conquest. Deep down, all he wants is the old, quiet life back, and he doesn't want any trouble for it. But he knows it's probably not an option for him, regardless of who wins.
Besides, he has every reason to be sad. True to his name, he tends to lose often.
