If it’s truly cataracts, there is no cure, only surgery to replace the lense. Not sure of that option in monkeys. But if it’s an infection in the eye, drops will help but probably never really clear the lense. I have a cat I rescued when it was a kitten. It’s eyes were so bad, crusted shut. Took me an evening with warm saline to open them. A vet visit the next day, the damage was severe already. Eyes drops did. help, but he is always looking through a dirty windshield per sei. But you know what, he can see, maybe not clear, but he can see. And he’s fat and happy!! So hopefully the outcome will at least be similar.

If it’s truly cataracts, there is no cure, only surgery to replace the lense. Not sure of that option in monkeys. But if it’s an infection in the eye, drops will help but probably never really clear the lense. I have a cat I rescued when it was a kitten. It’s eyes were so bad, crusted shut. Took me an evening with warm saline to open them. A vet visit the next day, the damage was severe already. Eyes drops did. help, but he is always looking through a dirty windshield per sei. But you know what, he can see, maybe not clear, but he can see. And he’s fat and happy!! So hopefully the outcome will at least be similar.
