A summer, fun, happy, joyous bop from JIMIN!! His vocals were fabulous (as always) and this was just pure joy from him to all of us! It makes you smile and I am already humming the tune non-stop-what a joy this is-simply a FUN song for all to enjoy. Cannot wait for the album to drop because I know we will get very different things from Jimin, but this was a total BOP, as it was meant to be!!

Always appreciate Jimin’s ability to masterfully combine interesting instrumentation w/ Hip Hop, Ballad style vocals, and Rap, all wrapped by super catchy hooks and melodies. ❤️ how his lyrics are deceptively simple but have 2-3 underlying meanings - have to listen to his music w/ both ears and brains. For instance - “SGMB reveals a story about the world where all the hidden feelings of the listener are accepted and embraced. Smeraldo flowers signify “the truth that one couldn’t say out loud.” Song urges listeners to embrace their truth because in ‘Smeraldo Garden,’ the marching band embraces everyone’s authenticity and feelings.” (Also ties into BTS’s song “The Truth Untold”.)
Some reactors have acted like this is just some goofy summer song, disappointed he didn’t do something like “Set Me Free Pt. 2”. I think it’s great he’s unafraid to share another side and give us pure joy! He does what he wants despite industry expectations (like singing live in a MV)… can totally see The Beatles’ “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart Band” influence.
Also, interesting note on the Smeraldo flower: Jimin collaborated with producers Pdogg, Ghstloop, and Evan, who contributed to his solo album, Face. During its prod, the group casually began calling themselves the Smeraldo Garden Marching Band, the playful title eventually becoming a reality.
Remember the game show with the 3 of them…SGMB was an inside joke then. 😂💜
Info mainly from Billboard article: 💥Thursday (June 20) BTS‘ Jimin revealed the full track list for his upcoming second solo album, MUSE. The seven-song LP due out on July 19 KST (July 18 in other time zones), will feature the intro song “Rebirth,” as well as “Interlude : Showtime,” the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” (featuring Loco), “Slow Dance” (featuring Sofia Carson), as well as “Be Mine,” “Who”, (single can now be purchased as presale aside from 2 versions MUSE album), and “Closer Than This” (which dropped in December.)
Jimin, 28, wrote six of the songs, according to a release, composed, also finally listed as one of the producers for most of his songs, (though shown in Jimin’s documentary his involvement in producing all his songs), which also noted that the announcement from BIGHIT Music featured a vintage feel via images of old-school cassette tapes representing each song, with an overarching theme of “love” connecting all the tracks.
The hip-hop/R&B-leaning focus song, “Who,” was produced by Grammy-nominated singer/producer Jon Bellion, along with Pete Nappi, Tenroc, Pdgogg and GHSTLOOP, with a vibe described as “intense bounce and guitar sound.” In addition, the pre-release song “Smeraldo Garden Marching Band” draws inspiration from marching bands, “blending hip-hop elements with the big band sound characterized by a large-scale orchestra, creating an upbeat, lively rhythm and dynamic atmosphere thanks to an assist from South Korean rapper Loco.”
Other contributors to the album include Tommy Brown (Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber), as well as producers Pdogg, GHSTLOOP and EVAN, who also worked on Jimin’s first solo album, 2023’s FACE, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart. Jimin’s official solo debut came with the 2018 single “Promise.” Five years later, he became the first South Korean soloist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Like Crazy,” followed by FACE‘s “Set Me Free, Pt. 2” reaching No. 30 on the chart.
Jimin is still in the midst of his 18-month mandatory South Korean military service, which he began in December; bandmate Jin recently became the first member of BTS to finish his military service.🙏👍❤🔥🔥🐥😍💥🌟💫✨

You are right on the spot about "The Wizard of Oz" vibe. In "The Wizard of Oz", Dorothy & the gang went to the Emerald City. 'Emerald' in Italian language is 'Smeraldo'. In 2015, BTS started their BU (Bangtan Universe - a story in the alternative universe of Bangtan, which was told through various media including certain BTS Music Videos, webtoon, books called NOTES and a blog. Now through the blog, BigHit introduced ARMYs to a 'Smeraldo flower' which is actually a fictional flower (see a flower with purplish petals that Jimin held in Concept photos) that BigHit created and mixed it with the Italian folklore - La Cittá di Smeraldo ( City of Smeraldo). In the folklore, it only mentioned "a special / most beautiful flower". BTS song- The Truth Untold was written based on this Italian folklore.

I'm sorry Jimin but that's a HARD pass . Pretty disappointed because I thought this was going to be right up to all people alley but this is literally a kids song.!!I can’t Jiminaaaaa either. I can’t listen to it again. It’s like I’m listening to a kids song. The lyrics and the arrangement of the song were atrocious. Jimin deserves better.
