Loved simmer in there. Yorkie you got a good partner here. I don't think I've seen Wally laughing that much and so long. You guys have some good chemistry going right off the bat. I think you make a good mix. You brings a good point of view as a former hockey Insider. It's always nice to hear a different insight and something a little while then a little off the cuff.
The brutal reality is 20 years ago Florida and Carolina were the armpits of the NHL, and Ottawa was desired. Today, for many club, privacy and economic realities fewer players wants to play in Canada, not even Canadian ones. We better get the idea of these types of players coming to Bytown out of our heads.
Stutzle, Tkachuk, Sanderson, Chabot, and Norris. They're all going to have to start playing like 8 mill dollar players. Thats 40.555714 divided by 87.5 or 46.349% of the entire payroll on those 5 guys. Now, we're adding in Zub's and Chychrun's contracts thats another 9.2 mill equals thats 49.755714 divided by 87.5 that's 56.86% of the entire payroll or 37.744286 left to pay 15 to 16 roster players and then all the minor league players. Korpisalo and Forsberg combine for 6.75 mil which now totals 56.505714 mill or 64.5779% of entire payroll (at least the Sens have goalies locked up for upcoming year regardless) leaving 30.994286 for the balance of the players. Remember regardless of whether they're good or bad, Sens only have 30.99 mill to spend on the rest of the team.
Brett Pesce would be amazing but I really doubt here's coming here. Sens are one of those teams that has to draft and develop RHDs or sign them out of a European league like Zub. Hopefully we grab Parekh or Yakemchuk in the draft.
Just curious if you guys think Mike Hoffman has any gas left in the tank. Not saying for a return to the Sens but perhaps for a team that's wanting depth; he can still shoot it.
Ottawa definitely needs at least 1 more body for the top 9, preferably 2 because I think there's a good chance Norris isn't healthy. You want someone with speed, versatility, defensive acumen and that kills penalties. This player isn't a free agent, but someone like Calle Jarnkrok who can move up and down the line-up, play on PP2 and on the PK is the type of player I think they really need.
What I'm hearing is that the Sens need to invest in people from Ottawa who can date and marry the best young players in the league, and then convince those players to sign here.
I miss hearing Simmer on tsn 1200.. I think he'd be a great addition to coming in hot.
thank god Simmer is back in the saddle, great to see ya buddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Atta boy Simmer! good to see you!
Kastilice is in Boston now.
not sure I understand your comment?

I really like the idea of identifying some duo's and finding a complimentary worker player to go along with them.

So we need the trophy Barbies hounding these dudes eh.
Are teams waiting for Toronto before signing or trading anyone.
I think a winger and veteran centre would be ideal this summer plus a RHD.
I just don't want us to trade any picks. The sens are nowhere near competing for a cup and we need to start filling the prospect cupboards.
Trade Chabot to Montreal for Arber Xhekaj. The have enough puck moving defensemen. They need some truculence back there.
Geez that's a terrible idea. Xhekaj can't even consistently crack a terrible Montreal team.
@@marantz1 I didn't really mean 1 for 1 but either way, they need to get tougher.
