dude i have been watching your vids for a longtime now and i don't think i've ever been this tense for the outcome of a battle. You two deserved the win! I'm really enjoying these CoH vids, very refreshing! Keep up the good work man
I know this video is tense but there is a way more tense video from him in my opinion it was called escaping from the jaws of defeat and from late middle of the video to the end is really tense in my opinion.
Your content has improved lately, the last Bannerlord video was flipping awesome, this COH video is better than the last as well.

Apollo from what I've learned and after playing as a newbie with 3 wins and maybe 20 losses,
I'm still losing most games but now i can get a foothold and sometimes maintain a advantage for at least half the game is that aggressive play from the start is how you want to play.
If you manage to get a squad wipe or something early, it sets them back a good chunk because they either have to pump out a new unit to replace theirs, especially if it's a Frontline unit and they have to decide whether to use precious resources and set back the true game ending ability, getting armor out first.

22:00 the "ostwind" halftracks with 22mm guns were first used as anti aircraft protection for the tank and mecanized units.( that confirms 28:40 when it shootdown an enemy plane). like the famous/infamous 88mm big guns ! it's wth the battle of Arras in 1940 that Rommel used the 88mm guns as anti tank guns . the tank called panzer 2 with an mg + a 22mm gun was the anti infantry vehicule of the 1940 offensive.
the name of the ostwind was "flakpanzer" so meaning that its mission was anti aircraft. the use as anti infantry was the result of ground officers' initiatives.
Germans didn't used 22mm guns anywhere, they used 20mm, 30mm, 37mm autocannons, Ostwinds aren't halftracks, they are built upon the chassis of the Pz.IV and its have a single 37mm gun, its sibling, the Wirbelwind used a quad 20mm Flak 38 AA autocannons
@@k_balu-8104 , thanks for the corrections , do you have sources about the main topic of my comment : the doctrine of use of those Anti-Aircrafts vehicules as Anti-infantry ? we see this usage in documentaries about ww2 when the four 20mm guns fire horizontaly but when it became a strategy ? I could quote the battle of Arras 1940 for the use of the 88mm big gun as anti-tank for example...what about those vehicules which first mission was to protect motorized divisions from bombers ?
@@redcapetimetraveler7688 Sources? No. Theories? Yes. I suppose the Germans saw the significance of Infantry support vehicles but they already had variety of vehicles for that, mainly the halftracks if you think about it and both the Ostwind and Wirbelwind had the protection, firepower and mobility to advance with the infantry, its only downside was the open top really, the Kügelblitz fixed that problem with its oscillating ball turret, its also had two 30mm MK 103 autocannons, its HVAP-T (high velocity armor piercing tracer) could penetrate 95mm flat RHA armor at point blank, at that time, this was considered VERY impressive and theoreticly could disable and even kill T-34s and Shermans trough weakspots, tough it was too late to change anything, only 5 was built. And you're right about Rommel, he ordered the 88mm to fire at Matilda and Valentine heavy and medium tanks cause the 50mm and short 75mm were inadequate to deal with them at range.
If the 50mm guns had APCR and the short 75mm guns HEAT rounds then they could have deal with them.

@@redcapetimetraveler7688 well for the time both the short and long barreled 50mm were good enough cannons, and the short 75mm were only meant for fortification busting, infantry support. British 2 pounder 40mm cannon had good armor penetration for its size, but it lacked any sort of explosive filler, meanwhile Germans had both enough penetration and explosive filler, therefore the Germans could easily disable and destory with one or two shots, the british required more

I am enjoying the collaboration content, always a good laugh and good content to be had. That was a wild show down!
What I love about this game is how realistic the settings look, in the sense that it is destroyed and modified with each action of the players, it is so cinematic. On the other hand, you had a brave defeat and I'm sure you earned the respect of your rivals in the end.

Take the Doktrin with the Opel Blitz Truck you send them to territories to gain additional resources also you can build depots on capture points to get even more resources

Super fun to watch, but oh my was it frustrating at times!
You’ve def got to get a bit more aggressive, especially with your tanks. They’re designed to dash forward, blow up those annoying artillery wagons, and reverse out of there (with smoke).
Also worth thinking about combinations. Have an MG and a mortar cover a VP, but from far back. His infantry will get suppressed by the MG, and then knocked about by the mortars. You’ll need to do fewer infantry counter attacks that way.
This is a sweet game! Didn’t know it was out there. Keep up the good stuff!

I know I said last video you shouldn't get AV when your opponent didn't have tanks, but in this case you already knew the Americans had access to oil and armoured vehicles (and used them). Building a STUG III in this case was a good call!

@@khorneberserker 13:52 around this mark, he’s already got two AT guns and the stug is just an AT gun on tracks, not even a proper tank.
Imho, he’d have been better off holding with the two AT and waiting for the extra 30 fuel to build the P4 instead.
Same for most of the stugs he brought throughout the game, he should’ve just waiting and bought a P4 or bigger.
@@Inquisitor_Vex Late game, yes. But 30 fuel is a lot, especially with their income. We're talking 2 minutes or so, which is a long time in which a lot can happen.
I do agree a STUG III is just extra AT, but it's a lot more mobile and it payed off in the long term. There were many PAK gun crews killed or unable to hit the T34-85's because they're slow. Early on, that extra mobility of the STUG III does a lot.
I usually skip the STUG III, but only when I'm rushing Panzers. Yet, in this case I'd still argue it was a good way of anticipating future armour.
@@khorneberserker 30 fuel is another light vehicle so I’ll admit it’s not insignificant but especially in PvP, having a turret is invaluable so would be worth the wait. Especially with 2 AT out guns already and you have the VP’s to spare.
T34/Sherman spam vs stugs isn’t a good matchup for the stugs as they’ll just get out manoeuvred. (Unless you have ~6 AT guns like Apollo here but that left him vulnerable to the Soviet shock infantry. Which he’s lucky the Sov player was inactive most the battle and didn’t push the shock inf until the very end. Otherwise the battle would’ve been a lot shorter.
Little advice PA, invest in a sniper to spot for your Paks and mortars etc.; their range is way more than there line of site.
You should try the Infantry Only mod on the workshop, it's really fun using only infantry. (Or try "All Units (170 added)" mod which adds 170 new units and more.)
Apollo you can snare tanks with grenadiers with their panzerfaust ability to slow them especially when they dive your base

Whenever you kill the crew on a vehicle, you can send in an infantry squad to steal the vehicle

I know your still learning, but you should check out some mods like the ww1 mod or mods that add additional factions.
Pro tip, expect vehicles at around the 10 min mark so have some AT ready by then.

Apollo, at 10:00 you had 1100 manpower and no PAK to support your half-track... even a Panzergrenadier with the shreks to have AT support will be a good idea, you are floating in resources
sniper should always be in cover to be concealed, it died to a simple infantry attack. snipers should be used at very long range and in cover. ALWAYS
6 ATs at 26:00 is way way too much and you don't have MGs or infantry to support them. 3 AT Max is the sweet spot
why wouldn't you still the Sherman Caliope and use the arty against the USF?
40:00 smokes glitches sometimes... that was what happened at the VP point
You should have done the ultimate combo. Pak guns, panzer infantry, artillery. The tanks kinda suck. Set the artillery right behind the park guns.

Idk if you know already but you could’ve capped the unoccupied tank if you can get infantry to it and get it back to repairs alive.

(Up to 6 at points, too. Four is too many. 3 is going heavy on AT, 2 is good, 1 will do if you have vehicles.)
Good game, but the Soviet and US players were either too confident or playing around. They could have easily push and wipe out both your bases with the amount of income they got from controlling most of the map.

Come on CA how much longer before a new TW historical title, there are at least x3 games just waiting to be developed. Age of the Mongols, Empire TW2 maybe start at 1492 world colonisation, allowing playable smaller factions, and of course the great Med3. Come back Field Marshall PA we miss those epic battles.

I keep thinking of advice, but then 2 minutes later I hear you say what you should be doing, and am like "nm he knows" lol. You might want to try out OKW they have a lot of artillery options if your reserved about pushing and they have a "Sdkfz 251/20 Half-track w/Infrared Searchlight" which helps with the FOW.
Never played COH2 but it seems like you need to use resources more efficiently, sitting on 1000+ gold? Isn’t ideal probably
