Walmart had them near me after Xmas on clearance for $5. Definitely worth it for $5 but not for retail. Either way I wouldn't be mad if someone gifted me one

That's crazy! Where they purchased online? Or in store? I could see it being possible that someone stole some of the stuff if it was an in store purchase. I've definitely seen MTBs in my local Walmart that had been opened, and items were missing.

I'm sure if it did have the shrink wrap on it, Mystery Tackle Box probably wouldn't have replaced it for you. Possibly even sent you a whole new box for free, and let you keep the one you had. I had something similar happen with a Googan Squad box, where it was missing a Jr Scout, but had an extra Banger. I contacted them about it, and instead of just sending me a Jr Scout, they resent the whole box! It was the Mondo Kit Bigguns XL box, so it was a $40 box!

I probably would have grabbed the other boxes if I could have gotten them at a discount. One of my local stores had plenty of them a couple day’s before Christmas, but hadn’t discovered them. They’re all gone now though.
@@ENCFishing i got the first one before christmas and did it as it was supposed to be my fiance loved it and i enjoyed the advent calender and then that's how I just got the last two I was looking for all of them and got lucky they was $13.00 so definitely couldn't pass them up.

That sucks! I don’t blame you for returning it! I had a few items that had slid out of their slots, and were in other slots, so I had to move them back to where they should be to continue filming.
In my experience, MTB and Monsterbass are both kind of hit or miss on quality baits, but for the most part, I like MTBs house baits a little more than Monsterbass'. 6th Sense always has high quality baits in their sacks, but I didn't like how repetitive it became. Especially since they supposedly fixed the sack.
Definitely not worth the money. Those spearpoint hooks looked like the new release but was a sample pack. Monsterbass had the full pack in December's box lol. That box might be cool for a kid but thays about it and honestly only the kid having fun would make it worth the regular price. The 5$ clearance price makes it worth grabbing now for some but not me lol
I really don't like when companies put sample packs in their mystery boxes! Does it really save them that much money to leave out 3 or 4 hooks? I've definitely gotten full packs from Monsterbass before. That is one of the things about Monsterbass... they rarely put sample packs of things in their boxes. If I were to run across an unopened MTB Advent for $5, I probably would get it. I liked the Googan Squad stuff enough for it to be easily worth $5 just for those. But everything else would probably be saved for a giveaway or donated.

Monsterbass never puts in sample packs lol that's why I started working with them instead of mtb. Not a huge googan fan but they do have some decent hard baits and some soft plastics that just catch fish but they should since they was designed by pro angler Scott Martin lol. I usually just buy what I want from Karl's and get that savings over any mtb box. I've actually watched mtb boxes constantly going down hill in two years. Same for many big youtubers I know that dropped mtb but still do karls, googan and catch co.
I've stopped getting MTBs for that exact reason. I also stopped getting Monsterbass since I was disappointed in a couple boxes I got from them, but I've been thinking about signing back up if I can get in for the Strike King and Z-man takeovers. I know Googan Squad can be pretty polarizing, but I do like some of their products. But I can't say I've tried everything, so there definitely could be some bad products too. For the most part now, I only buy what I want from Karls too. Having a Karl's Club membership is really nice since it can save so much, especially when they have sales! This was, I think, the first MTB product that I've purchased in at least a year. The only subscription/mystery box (sack?) that I'm currently getting is the 6th Sense 6 Sack. But even that one hasn't been quite as impressive as it was when I first signed up.

I’ve definitely started to feel like most of the subscription boxes are not really worth it anymore. I can definitely see where it’s a good option for someone that’s just getting into fishing, and wants to stock up on some lures to try out, but for someone more experienced or has a ton of lures, it’s not worth it. I actually haven’t subscribed to MTB in probably a year now for that very reason.

I stopped my MTB subscription because the baits were kinda cheap. Monsterbass and 6th Sense are way more premium.

The best thing about the $5 box is that if you lose a lure on a tree, in the weeds, or under some rocks, you don't care.

Spearpoint puts 5 and more in packs so that was a sample pack which is not unusual for mtb.
