One piece of advice; don't go directly to any resource. You've got this circle around your city on the map. Try and get as many resources within that circle as you can. If they have to swim a bit further, so be it. You'll never truly run out of fuel with that bike, but you don't want to get stuck somewhere and not have enough power to get to a fishing spot.
Good to see the progress and adjustments that have been made, makes the game look a lot more enjoyable and less stressful than it used to look. I think they're onto something good with the way they're refining the different systems.

What is there to do besides making a bigger and bigger colony? What's to discover on the map? Is it just endless scrap that looks different? Are there pirates? This just seems like wasted material that looks great but doesn't really offer anything different in exploring or preparing for danger
You are right. In terms of gameplay what you've seen is what you get. There isn't really much more. But the game is pretty and the artists did a great job.
Birdhouses are for the pet Seagulls which I think were in the game last time you played it, though I might be getting your video mixed up with Aavak or Nookrium =]
When I was in Cuba we went out dark enough to not see the ground and the ppl on the beach looked like Lego people then the jelly fish came and i was like fuck this and pictured all bad things in the ocean coming. Kinda funny how ur mind starts to mess with you

Meh. The gameplay loop's really simple and past the most basic part of the game, there's essentially no resource scarcity, nor anything to do with your resources. But an interesting colony builder idea, all the same. I do like the electric bike deal they've added. Seems like it would be a lot more punishing to just randomly wander off, with much more risk of starving out due to the time it takes to recharge. And there's much less area in sight on the map.
I loved this game from the very start. Than I bought it. Turned out it's just fancy graphics with little to no gameplay. What you saw in this demo by Splat is nearly everything this game has to offer. The updates provided by the devs are sparse and add very very few things to the game in terms of gameplay. From what I've seen now there is probably more variation in the drifter models than actual gameplay.
I think in Steam there are two games with similiar description: colony survival in waterworld. It's Flotsam and second game, which name I can't remember. Not so cartoonish and I think with static games instead of boat-base. Can anyone help and remind me how this second game called? Please :)

Nope. The limitation to generate electricity will be the effort of who peddles. And, worse, because of friction and mechanical inefficiency, you'd be worse off with your 'mega charger' than without it.

this is basically it excluding throwing hooks and stuff which is tiresome for early game

Last time I play this on Alpha and the bug is so bad, my water basically gone before even reach storage. 7 ppl and they drunk 42 water each day.

I don't like Open Water either, there's something deeply creepy and un-nerving about it. Definitely going to be keeping an eye on this one.
