- "The Maple Leaf Forever" is a Canadian Patriotic Song written by Alexander Muir in 1867, the year of Canada's Confederation. It was used as Canada's unofficial/de-facto national anthem in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries. The Canadian Red Ensign (1921-1957) is flown in this video.

Duke of canada
In days of yore, from Britain's shore
Wolfe, the dauntless hero, came
And planted firm Britannia's flag
On Canada's fair domain
Here may it wave, our boast, our pride
And, joined in love together
The Thistle, Shamrock, Rose entwine
The Maple Leaf, Forever!
The Maple Leaf, our emblem dear
The Maple Leaf, Forever!
God save our Queen, and heaven bless
The Maple Leaf, Forever!
*king
@@callumtalent3424 It was queen when I published the comment. It was also queen in the original text since it was written when Victoria was queen.
Canadians normally: Heh, sorry buddy, my bad.
*Canadians when there's an un-bayonetted German in a trench:*
War with europe was our biggest mistake
Canadians: " oh dear, that german has not been beaten to death with a trench club"
Canadians 90% of the time: Oh, hello there pal!
Canadians when someone messes with their poutine: *Ah, so you have chosen, death.*
They were just beans.
I am not Canadian but this hymn makes me to run into battle with the Canadian flag in my hand! For Canada!
This is why I subscribed. Rare and also decent renditions.
Sealand lives forever!
Am I the only one who heard Sealand Lives Forever before the original?
@@MyName_Stanislaw. I heard Sealand Lives Forever before I heard the full song, but heard snippets of Maple Leaf Forever before that.

When Canada actually meant something
I believe this is the version dubbed over one of the videos of the Queen's Coronation, as the Mounties pass by Buckingham palace.
as a canadian, i can confirm we listen to this while sipping on our 15 bottles of maple syrup everyday.
Go Leafs GO!
Today this song is National anthem of Sealand.
Ah the proper anthem and flag. Beautiful
I hope to look north one day and see the beautiful Red Ensign waving in the wind next to our Stars and Stripes. I don’t know why Ottawa replaced it, but, I truly believe the people of Canada would like to have it back again.
@@mariogiresi6792 It was replaced by the Liberal Party (of course) to appease Quebec (as is Canadian tradition) as Quebec detests the British Imperial culture of the rest of Canada. Veterans at the time were enraged and ignored by the Liberals (another Canadian traditon). The Ensign still flies on houses all over Canada. In Ottawa, you'll see it if you're looking for it. The town of Loyalist, ON in particular, they're everywhere.
@@mrcrowley109 Thank you for jostling my memory. When I visited Ottawa in 1988 I remember seeing it displayed around the city next to the Maple Leaf. Magnificent design.
charles isnt gonna suck you off dude stop trying
You mean the flag of the imperialist overlords? The anthem is pretty great tho
O, land of blue unending skies,
Mountains strong and sparkling snow,
A scent of freedom in the wind,
O'er the emerald fields below.
To thee we brought our hopes, our dreams,
For thee we stand together,
Our land of peace, where proudly flies,
The Maple Leaf forever.
Long may it wave, and grace our own,
Blue skies and stormy weather,
Within my heart, above my home,
The Maple Leaf forever!
From East and West, our heroes came,
Through icy fields and frozen bays,
Who conquered fear, and cold, and hate,
And their ancient wisdom says:
Protect the weak, defend your rights,
And build this land together,
Above which shine the Northern Lights,
And the Maple Leaf forever!
Long may it wave, and grace our own,
Blue skies and stormy weather,
Within my heart, above my home,
The Maple Leaf forever!
Oh, Maple Leaf, around the world,
You speak as you rise high above,
Of courage, peace and quiet strength,
Of the Canada I love.
Remind us all our union bound,
By ties we cannot sever,
Bright flag revered on every ground,
The Maple Leaf forever!
Long may it wave, and grace our own,
Blue skies and stormy weather,
Within my heart, above my home,
The Maple Leaf forever!
Fake and gay lyrics. The proper ones are about war and freedom and the British isles and the King and peace :>
@@chalkwizard1292 they sound like a parody of a British colonial anthem
@@thomasanderson2757the real one IS a colonial anthem so
@@Johia_Mapping_2 it sounds like a parody
Long live Canada! Long live Britain! 🇬🇧🇨🇦 🍁
In some ways I feel it is a better anthom than the one we have-even if there are no maples beyond ontario
the theme song of Flag Party
A much better song and a much better flag.
If it was a fight song what should it go
Put it at 1.5x speed and it works way too well
